  1. In my personal opinion, there’s nothing wrong with a bare-chested man - and it’s sure to draw your attention to a book straight off! There’s nothing wrong with seeing a little skin - as long as it’s tasteful.

  6. I don’t mind the bare-chested man on covers, but I wouldn’t like it if it doesn’t reflect the tone of the book. (I won’t hold it against the author, but I may be a bit disappointed if I wanted to read a sexy and/or hot read, but it’s tame or something. Does that make sense?)

    I love the new covers, and I love the fact that I can’t see his face completely. That way I get to sort of finish making him look as he would to me.

    The bare chest is sexy and if I didn’t alreay know you’re a fabulous author, they would cause me to pick up the book.

  9. I love the bare chested hero covers and the head cut off allows me to imagine what I would like him to look like. And if his chest had some hair on it, yikes - more sexy.

  13. Count me in too! Of course I like looking at a hot bare chest as much as the next girl, but sometimes I wouldn’t mind something that really matches or explains or takes from a scene of the story inside. . . it’s early, so hope that long sentence made some sense.

  17. Carly, thanks so much for asking about my little petunia.

    He is back to perky and doing great. He has adjusted to wearing the cone collar. We took the pain patch off last Saturday so he’s off drugs now. And he gets his stitches out next Thursday. So everything is good. :-)

  28. I don’t have a problem with a bare-chested guy on romance covers - I personally prefer them with some hair on their chest rather than the baby smooth chests that are so popular. I’m a little reluctant to pull out a sexy cover or provocative title at my desk at work, however - I do have a book cover that I put on those that require a little more discretion!

  29. I buy a book by author not by the cover - so considering the four of you are already in my favor…I try not to pay to much attention to the cover cause sometimes that picture doesn’t match with the author’s description of the hero or my perception of him.

Not only does it give you something good to look at when the book is closed, it can make other around you jealous that you get to read the book with the hot half-naked man on the cover!   43. Hi Carly. The new covers are great, however, I actually prefer the illustrated covers because it leaves more the the imagination. The trailer that you had on myspace for Seduce Me was good, but when I read the book that’s not at all how I pictured Mallory, and it kind of disrupted my vision of the characters. Anyway, regardless of that fact, your books still rock!

  45. It doesn’t bother me! It’s a nice picture to look at while enjoying a great romance read! Besides sometimes the cover has to do with a scene in the book just makes you want to read the book more to see what the cover is about.

Personal fan of the material INSIDE the book, I’m really looking forward to not paying attention at work and reading your book instead.   106. I don’t mind bare-chested men when the cover art complements the title, as in Hot Property. Now if the title is something like “Freda’s Unbelievable Day” or “Lessons from Your Mother” and it’s got a hot body on it, I might be a bit confused. Then again, that confusion might make me at least pick up and read the blurb…

  112. I like covers that tell me a bit about the story. Like if the bare chested man had on levis or a fireman’s pants. I don’t usually judge a book by it’s cover, but if it intrigues me, I go ahead and read the blurb or a couple of the first pages to get a flavor for the book.

  124. In my personal opinion?? The HOTTER the man, and BARER the chest…hey WORKS for me!!! A single girl has to get her fantasies where she can! And I must say I would pick up the book and check it out just for that very reason! It’s just all the more better with a HOT BARECHESTED man on the cover to get my attention, and a GREAT storyline to keep my attention!! And even though I know I won’t win ( I never win ANYTHING!!) I wanted to post to say that anyway! Good luck to all of you though, it’s a great prize! Especially if you go thru five or six books a day like I do!!

  147. Personaly I love the hot new cover trend, but as a kindergarten teacher who loves to read on my lunch break. I have a cover (Janelle’s leopard print bookcover) because I never know who is going to come into my room unanounced. Think principal. I think I would sink through the floor if that ever happened. I also like the partial face, It’s easier to imagine the hero without the cover that sometimes just doesn’t match. And it’s a plus for sales. If I didn’t already love Carly’s books I would pick the book up in the store to read more.
