Oops I did it again!

Carly Icon

When I switched with Leslie and took Mondays, I thought she was crazy for not being able to get a blog done on the weekend or to remember that she needed to get one posted by Sunday night! It’s harder than I thought!

Anyway, a little late, but here I am. Bailey is 11 months old today! We’ve had her for 9 months. Just when I thought we’d never train her … yesterday she went to the door three times and asked to be let out!!! I know there’s a lot of work to be done. And I’m not celebrating her being completely housebroken just yet. And with this 40 MPH wind and freezing almost zero degree temps, I don’t kid myself that today will be as good as yesterday. But we’ve made a huge start!

Here’s the most recent picture of the birthday girl!

Who’d have thought at almost a year we’re STILL working on housebreaking? But she’s worth every bit of aggravation. Remind me of that today, in the wind and freezing temps!

Tomorrow night I have tickets to the Westminster Dog Show!

  1. Bailey, you sweet thing, you!!!

It was beautiful here in the Albany area- the sun was out, I had the dogs outside and no coat on (me or the weiner dog) and literally, 5 minutes after we came in the wind was howling and there was a white out!! I swear the temp dropped 20 degrees. I was talking to out dil in Manhattan and the weather was still nice when it happened. It was the strangest thing. And living at the top of a hill on a road that dead ends in trees less than half a mile from the Hudson River, you wonder where it comes from sometimes. I was amazed at how hard the wind was blowing!

We had taken a old 6ft tall cabinet outside to be picked up (garbage or whoever) and I was shocked that it was still standing this morning. Guess it was better built that I thought (except that part that broke when it hit the bottom stair- oops.)

  2. Happy 11 month Birthday Bailey
Oh, I really envy your mommie getting to go to the dog show. I am going to watch it on the USA channel.

Bailey, tell your mommie that until you are a year old you are still a baby. (well really a teenager) and you will get it one day soon.

You look real pretty with the bows in your hair. I never could get Bridgette(my pooch) to keep bows in her hair.

I bet you sill get a BIG party on your first Birthday.

  3. Don’t worry, Carly. I won’t even tell you about the ‘housebreaking’ of my boys. They are slower than Bailey!

  4. Happy, Happy birthday, Bailey, you adorable, sweet faced thing! Tell your mommy to be patient because you’re still learning and growing. You might forget a time or two still but soon you’ll be a pro. :-)

Over the weekend we had really nice weather up into the 50’s. But that is about to change.

    Have a terrific day everyone,

    Cher

  10. Happy birthday to Bailey! Puppies are so cute, but their personalities only get better as they grow out of that puppy stage, don’t they?

  20. I did a bad bad thing and need to share… I gave my younger sister’s boyfriend The Bachelor for “research purposes”. We agreed that if we could ever find a man like a Carly Phillip’s man it would be FABULOUS. We will have to see where it goes Have a great day!
