Happy New Year!

Wow, it’s 2008! Seems like only yesterday we were all waking up on January 1, relieved that our cell phones and computers still worked after the NON-event that was Y2K. (Remember that?)
I hope everyone had a wonderful night last night, whether it was spent partying or eating or snuggling or being quietly thankful. And that all our jungle friends are safe healthy and happy today.
I usually resolve to never make resolutions, but I’ve been more contemplative and reflective lately…maybe because I’m getting older, maybe because my kids are. I’ve got so much to be thankful for and I need to stop letting the little daily nonsense and stresses distract me from that.
So I am firmly resolved that in 2008 I will take a moment every day to be grateful and appreciative for all the wonderful things I have in my life. Including all of you!
Anyone else?

Dear Leslie,
First of all, happy new year to everybody. Hope your New Year’s Eve was as much fun as mine. We were laughing and playing and thinking about all the funny things ( that are only funny AFTER they are over) that happened in 2007. So we had a great time and I hope so did you.
Leslie, I really think that saying your New Year’s resolution(s) out loud or writing them down will help to keep them. The last years, I’d always made so many resolutions I didn’t know what they were when the first part of the year was over. That way, I could never keep them.
But this year, I have one I can promise I can keep: It’s not to make ANY resolutions and be disappointed afterwards when not keeping them. Great, isn’t it? Then next year, I can tell everybody I did keep my resolution. Impressive!
Leslie, to get serious here, I love your New Year’s resolution because I know how true it is. We should be more thankful for the people around us and appreciate the little things as well.
A few days ago, I heard that the Top three resolutions every year are: 1. Getting in shape 2. Quit drinking or smoking and …geez, I can’t remember the third one. But what I want to say is that these are definitely the Top three that aren’t kept every year as well.
Carly, congrats on finishing the manuscript. That’s the perfect start for the new year. When I looked at the percentage today, I was shocked. Where had all your words gone to?
But when I saw that the book’’s name was LUCKY STREAK I was really relieved. So you did it
Leslie, just a few more words: You’re definitely right. 2007 passed so fast. And it’ll take a while to remember that it’s actually o8 and not 07. But I think maybe in July I’ll write down 08. I’m not a quick study here.
Enjoy the new year everbody. Take care
and I’m looking forward to a great year with you guys filled with fun, joy, laughter and of course, lots of books . Love you all.
See you
Vero

The first time I posted my computer shut down on me. Not an auspicious beginning to the new year.
We spent the evening in our traditional way- eating chinese and watching Die Hard movies. I got to see the new one finally, uncut of course.
I don’t make resolutions. I have only ever kept one that I have made. I do try to be a better person everyday though. It’s a tough job.
That one resolution I have kept? I quit smoking 1/1/84. That is the year I got preggers with my daughter. good luck or karma, I don’t care which.
Have a good day everyone and a very Happy New Year. Back to school and work tomorrow. pooh.

I write down goals every year on the first. My goals are always personal and professional, so I have 2 list. I post my personal list on my fridge, so I see it almost every day. My professional list I keep at work in my day timer so I can take a look as needed.
My biggest goals this year is to get healthy and spend more time with my friends and family.
Hope everyone has an awesome 2008!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone….I can’t believe it is the beginning of another year…time certainly does fly…
I don’t really make resolutions myself…I stopped that several years ago, when I couldn’t hold to them…now I just end up doing what I resolved to do without thinking about it…I just want to be happy with people and everything I do…I know tall order, but it can happen…I hope to make a trip somewhere other than the east or west coast this year…would love to go to montana, colorado, kentucky, louisiana or some place like that…I have about 10 more states to visit before I can say I have visited all the states in the U.S.; then it will be Europe…hey a girl can dream right?
As you all could probably guess, I still have mucho reading to do…
Ev, thanks for attaching that discount coupon…
And Leslie, I remember Y2K…the whole world was at a standstill that year…
That is all for now…talk to you all later…
Peace and love,
Paula R.

I don’t really do the resolution thing, but I do make goals. Although I do my best to make them, sometimes it doesn’t happen. However, my mom, always told me to reach for the moon, because even if you don’t make the moon, you’ll land on a star.
So, I’m wishing lots of moon landings for all of us, and some star landings for those of us who don’t quite make the moon.

Happy New Year! I hope you all have a healthy and happy 2008.
I do not normally make resolutions, but have made 2 for this year.
1) Eat three meals a day. I know this seems pretty basic but running after a toddler I frequently skip meals.
2) Drink more water, less soft drinks.
I hope to have a healthier 2008 with these changes.
Best of luck to all of you who have made resolutions.

I love your Mom’s saying, Vicki! Here’s hoping we all land on stars this year.

Resolutions…. I am not really making any, but I have one wish for 2008. I want to be as happy throughout the year 2008 as I am right now. I am in love and finally where I was meant to be. I just want that feeling to continue.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day and a great 2008!

My only goals are to eat healthier; spend some time each day focusing on just me (doing something I love, like reading, vegging in front of the tv); work on an online class to keep my certificate, focusing on the postitives in my life and exercising 4 times a week. Nothing too life changing…

Happy New Year! I’m with you Leslie. I want to be a nicer person, more generous with others, more grateful for what I do have - family, friends, my health, my job - and less impatient. That last one might be a little more difficult LOL.
Here’s to a wonderful and memorable year for all the Plotmonkeys, and their friends.

I haven’t done a New Year’s resolution in quite some time but I do always try one new recipe in January.

The sun is shinning here and I’m feeling good so we are off to a good start!
I don’t make resolutions but will keep trying to stay healthy, eating well and enjoying life.
My year (2007) ended & started (2008) reading, She’s No Angel by Leslie! Very enjoyable. When I sign off here I am going for a walk then coming back home to do some more reading! Gotta see what happens with Jen & Mike!
Enjoy the day, indulge in something good! Read a book!
To all the Plotmonkeys, thanks for all the enjoyable reads & more to come!

Kelly H- it’s amazing when you stop the soda how much weight comes off. I quit drinking soda (now it is a treat when I have one) and dropped 25lbs. And that was with diet soda. Besides, it will promote good habits with that toddler watching. And they do. They are worse than spies and nosy neighbors next door- they miss nothing!!!

I spent the day watching the parade and then finishing packing up my craft room and moving everything out of it. Next stop Lowe’s for paint and a new light fixture!!

Hi again guys…Happy Bday to both Shannon and Alyssa

Today is also either Lori or Tony’s bday (Tori Carrington)…
I just finised reading Simply Sensual by Carly, and it was blazing
…If you haven’t read it, you need to…
Also finished Asking for Trouble by Leslie and that one was just as good as Carly’s…
Donna, like you I ended 07 and started 08 reading…I believe I was reading Asking for Trouble and Seduce Me…had to finish them too…
Tomorrow I am going to start reading the Wilde books by Janelle and some other stuff, not sure what yet…Maybe I will visit Trouble, Pennsylvania as well…
Janelle and Leslie, remember how I said way, way back when that I hadn’t read any of the
books, and that I discovered you guys because of Jules…well, I was going through my book shelf and discovered that I owned some of your books…I haven’t had to look on that shelf for a while since my TBR pile keeps growing…it was on the shelf of my reread books…I did discover Carly and this site because of Jules though…for which I am very grateful…
I gotta go now…chores await…talk to you all later…
Peace and love,
Paula R.

Hi, Happy New Year to Leslie & all of the Plotmonkeys. The site is always a little kick in my day.
Julie, hope your daughter’s birthday was great fun. & congrats to the other birthday gals.
My New Year’s wish is to be more patient that my daughter’s health will improve. To date, she is still on Prednisone for her Ulcerative Colitis, & it can’t seem to heal enough to get her off of it. Nobody should have to deal with the medical problems she does; yet she is always smiling (thankfully). My goal, exercise every day, no matter what. Good for one’s head.
