of Meerkats and Book Videos
As you all know by now, I am in deep deadline dementia on LUCKY CHARM, the first book in a new series starting October 2008. But it’s my day to blog and I do live to amuse, so here goes:
Two unrelated topics today …
1. BAILEY had another haircut. Why? She goes out and runs through the bushes. I never know what’s in that fur. So let’s play a game. Which one is Bailey? Left? Or Right? (Rhetorical question, folks!) But I can’t help looking at her and thinking she looks just like a Meerkat, don’tcha think?

and
2. SEDUCE ME - the book video is up on my website along with an excerpt.
If you’re on my newsletter email list, you’ve seen this already but just in case, here it is again for your enjoyment. I think it captures the book perfectly. Reminder this book is a reprint of my 2001 Blaze, Erotic Invitation, with a new cover and title. So don’t … er …. be seduced, pardon the pun, and think it’s a brand spanking new book! That said, if you want to get your hands on a copy to match your other reprints, or just because you like me, or I asked you to, … feel free.
and
THANK YOU.
And in case you can’t see this, CLICK HERE to see the video on my website!
Oh. It would be nice if I told you when this book is out, right? I have no clue!!!!! Harlequin releases books the last Tuesday of the month before the release. In English, since I have a January 2008 release for SEDUCE ME, it would technically be in stores December 25th. Do the math, folks. That’s Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Hence … I HAVE NO CLUE. Just please look for and buy the book? I’ll be eternally grateful.
Oh. My goal? To finish LUCKY CHARM before I leave for Florida on vacation December 21st so all I have to take with me are books to read for enjoyment. It’s doubtful. But I’ll be close enough.
Guess what? Its Ten PM. Do you know where your children are? Just kidding. It’s Ten PM. I’m exhausted. My head hurts. I am going to sleep … and i have no intelligent or other kind of question to get dialogue going today … so you’re on your own.
Oh and lest I forget? :happychanuk: :happychanuk: :happychanuk: :happychanuk: :happychanuk:
HAPPY MONDAY!
PS - my daughter, Jen, just told me she changed the spelling of her name a week ago from Jen to Jenn.
Why? Jenn is a partier and Jenn is more PARTY.
Did I mention she’s all of 11 years old?
I kid you not.

Starting today–a completely FREE Christmas romance novella from Leslie Kelly!
Holly Cavanaugh has one chance to save her struggling B&B: a featured story on a Country Inns television show. Unfortunately, something uh, unexpected has just fallen out of her new Christmas tree.
With a stiff on the floor and a TV crew on the way, Holly has no time to deal with a visitor. Especially when it’s reporter Zach Weldon–her long lost love–who’s on the trail of diamond thieves. And Holly’s heart.
Don’t miss…

Chapter 1 goes live today at www.eharlequin.com

It’s icy here, so I am sitting around not getting anything done.
I know I have read the book, but since it is a reprint and I love the new covers they are using…
And thanks Leslie for a free read!! Going to grab a cup and read chap 1.
Carly- go write damn it!!!

Goodmorning,
and jungle friends.
Carly, that is a cute pic of Bailey…
With Jen’s name change to Jenn. I have noticed that many girls around her age goes through this phase…working in a middle school I see all kinds of things…we actually had one student…Genevieve…a beautiful name, but she hated it and had her name changed to Gen…go figure…
Good luck with making your deadline…I believe that you will be able to do it…now go closet yourself and finish what you started…don’t forget to take little breathers and check in so we know that you are doing okay…
I preordered Seduce Me…it is new to me after all, so there goes the idea of it not being a brand spanking new book…I already saw the promo vid on your website, but I will check it out again later…gotta go to work…
BTW…what does MEEP and WOOT mean? I see it sometimes and I can’t figure it out…
Have a great writing day okay…I will check in again later people…
Peace and love,
Paula R.

:happychanuk: Carly! Best of luck with the deadline.
So glad Seduced is coming out. Erotic Invitation was the only one of your backlist I was unable to find. YEAH ME!
Thanks for the read Leslie.

Dear Carly,
First of all, good luck with the deadline. I’m looking forward to Seduce me. Love the new cover.
Leslie, I loved the excerpt.
Have to go now. It was my Mom’s birthday yesterday and we’re totally busy with cleaning up. Hate it but it has to be done nontheless.
Happy Monday everyone,
See you

Hi Carly:
Seduce Me is available now from B&N.com. My copy was just shipped today. Can’t wait to get it.
Also, sorry Jeannie about your break-in over the weekend. I’m glad though that no one (including Zoey) was injured. Am thinking of you today and hope you will be ok.

Aw, Bailey looks good all cleaned up and ready for the holidays
mastree: :menorah:
Good luck with the deadline. Take some time to relax and enjoy the holidays. It makes all the hard work worth it.
Ev, be careful where you live. It’s icy here too (Chicago) and they are predicting more ice today & tomorrow. Life is always an adventure.

I’ve finally read a PlotMonkey book. I thought Carly’s CROSS MY HEART would be first, because I recently ordered it. But I got a review copy of Leslie’s ONE WILD WEDDING NIGHT. Hotter than I normally read but I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!
So I’m popping over to read Leslie’s novella on eHq. Hope everyone joins me over there!
Comment by Patricia W — December 10, 2007 @ 12:29 pm
Oh Patricia, thank you so much! I am so excited that you liked One Wild Wedding Night! I have received a grand total of *one* reviews on it–from RT. So you can bet I’ve been sweating bullets to see what everyone thinks.
It is a little, uh…outrageous.
Comment by Leslie — December 10, 2007 @ 1:15 pm
Bailey looks so cute…and I love meercats! So you really can’t go wrong, Carly.
Comment by Leslie — December 10, 2007 @ 1:15 pm
Paula–I’m not 100% on the Meep and Woop either! I figured woop was kind of like “wow”…but Meep? Whenever I see it I think of the Road Runner.

PS: Can you all tell I FINISHED MY BOOK?!
It turned out very cute and I’m happy with it.
Anyway, because it’s done, I’m allowed on the internet during the day today.
But not after today, because I have another Blaze due next month.

Awww, Bailey is so cute — even if she does look like a meerkat! :giggle:

I like your dogs name, but it’s disconcerting to read through things and see
Awww, Bailey is so cute — even if she does look like a meerkat!
Bailey looks so cute…
Aw, Bailey looks good all cleaned up and ready for the holidays
I feel like jumping up and saying “Thank You.” Except for the meerkat thing.
Good luck with your deadline.

Leslie that story hits just a little bit close to home. We bought our christmas tree yesterday and it was all bundled up at the lot for the trip home. My husband and daughters cut the netting off the tree but thank goodness that only thing that fell out of the tree was snow.
Comment by Ardie — December 10, 2007 @ 3:12 pm
:candycane: Carly, I think Bailey looks cute with her haircut. She is the one on the left, easy to tell! I don’t know much about Meercats!
:snowmanhead: Here in my part of the world it is about 52 degrees & I’m cold! We don’t get a lot of cold weather here so 52 feels cool, the temp was down in the low 30’s overnight! Brrr!!
Thanks for the reminder about Leslie’s online read. I plan to read it later. Congratulations on finishing your book Leslie. Can’t wait to read One Wild Wedding Night!!
Carly, good luck on finishing your book before the 21st so your vacation is all about relaxing & reading for fun! :santahat: I liked the video on Seduce Me & love the cover. Another good read to look forward to.
Comment by Donna M — December 10, 2007 @ 3:26 pm
Good luck with the deadline Carly. Bailey looks so cute, and I can’t believe how big she has gotten.
BTW, could someone please send a little cold weather to TN please?!? It is in the upper 60’s today and will be in the upper 70’s tomorrow!
It is December and I really think I might have to turn my a/c on if it doesn’t cool off soon.
Comment by Liza — December 10, 2007 @ 3:27 pm
Those meerkats are cute but so is Bailey. I like the new trimming.

One of my gifts to my mom is giving her Mini Schnauzer a hair cut, which you know she absolultly hates of course. Fun, fun, fun!

Came back to second Donna M’s comment - the online read is wonderful. Can’t wait for the next installment.

Bailey you are adorable! Much cuter than a meerkat!
Leslie, thanks for the story I’m going to read Chapter 1 right now!
Comment by Tina Martinesi — December 10, 2007 @ 5:42 pm
Carly, That is so funny about Bailey. My Buddy stands up on his back legs when he sees another dog and I say he looks like a meerkat too. Too funny!
Can’t wait to look for Seduce Me. Will definitely keep my eyes peeled for it.
Ok??? about Jenn????? I don’t know where they get it all from. Take care of that headache.

Leslie, my review will be on FreshFiction. It usually takes them a week or two to get it posted but it should be up by January.

The absolute funniest thing is your daughter’s name change. I have a middle school child so I empathize.
