Red is the New Pink

When you think of Carly Phillips, what color do you think of? Yes, that’s right, it’s pink! I liked even my accessories to be pink (iPod, iPhone, computer cover, etc.) I went through a phase recently though – I tried to replace my favorite color with red.

Say it isn’t so!
Yes, folks, it is. Red plastic computer cover for my Macbook Pro, red rubber cover for my iPhone, and my Product Red Nano. And I adopted a new mantra – Red is the New Pink – as if to convince MYSELF.

… Uh, … No!
But something didn’t sit right with me.
And then I found a pink cover for my Macbook Pro. And I bought myself a big fat iPod Classic to hold all my photos and songs forever more, and I covered my phone and iPod with pink. And guess what?

All was right with the world! So I decided to find out what my favorite color Pink said about me:

This obviously is true – on a normal day I AM blissful, content and romantic … Idealistic – Expressive – and Artistic – can someone say writer? And Funny (sometimes), Quirky (maybe not) and Individualistic (YES).

But this obviously wasn’t the real me. It was part me - I’m ambitious and attractive But I’m not energetic I don’t consider myself particularly passionate or spontaneous or inspiring or seductive, powerful or addicting. geez, what a list. Doesn’t belong to me. I think I borrowed it for awhile!

I’m definitely happy to have returned to my true color.

Stacy, it’s funny. I’m sure a lot of people don’t think about color. I never did. I just gravitated to pink until a publicist I had pointed it out to me and suggested we use it as branding. Voila. Carly and pink became synonymous. Definitely made me laugh to see how well it fit me.

I don’t get the rare part, although I like my steaks that way!

Purple has been my favorite color since I was a little girl. Thankfully it is also my birthstone, which makes shopping easy. They go so well with diamonds.

Ev and Julie - how many of us purple people does it take before we’re no longer rare?

But, I will say, I’m becoming more and more fond of red. I’m putting together my website and red is the most prevelant color and I saw a red dress the other day that I thought was absoolutely the most beautiful thing I’d ever seen.

I had an aura imagining done one time and my whole aura showed red. Then I had the mud massage that is supposed to help balance you. They did the imaging after wards and I was a more intense, focused red! I don’t know how true it was or not, but I definitely have all the charactersitcs they listed…intense being the main one. Very interesting…..

My favorite color is yellow and that’s what it says about me:

Intellectual — Logical — Decisive
Introverted — Focused — Driven

I’m surprised how true the result actally is. I’m definitely curious. That’s what drives my friends insane. I always try to find out what kind of birthday presents they’ll give to me. That says a lot about me, doesn’t it. I’m also pretty logical, I’d say. But I wouldn’t consider myself as wise. That sounds like an old woman but I’m definitely not. I can say that I’m driven and if my focus is on a task, it’ll stay there for a while. So on the whole, I’d say that this test is pretty accurate.

My favorite color is blue (yes, sheesh, that is me…especially the emotional part).

I love the PRODUCT RED electronic stuff (I can actually find my phone in my purse!), plus it goes to a good cause. I feel a little like Bono or Oprah.

I am and have always been a “pink” person. I was shopping the other day and I saw a pink hair dryer. Even though I have a perfectly good hair dryer I had to have it because it’s pink. Part of the proceeds go to breast cancer research so I feel like I did something good plus I now have a pink hair dryer.

RED - Most of what Carly printed but not all…I don’t think of myself as powerful or seductive or addicting AT ALL!

GREEN

My favorite color is blue. I’d say a third of the words don’t fit me: peaceful, tranquil, and connected. Those I would replace with disorganized, panic-stricken, and head stuck somewhere.

My favorite color was not listed-it is turquoise. I wear alot of different colors and can’t believe how many young people say that black is their favorite color. It seems depressing to me unless it is a little basic black dress brightened up with a diamond necklace. Now that would definitely not be depressing

Mostly, I believe these are true of me. I don’t see myself as very creative or self-sacrificing (sorry folks, just not me), but the rest sounds good!

OK, whew! JUST walked in the door. WHO gave kids off for Veteran’s Day? AGH! I took them for Flu, shots, one to a friend, took the other with me went to Walden’s, bought her A Mighty Heart (Marianne Pearl’s story) for School and magazines for my sanity, went to the drug store, the supermarket, Blockbuster (b/c same daughter needed the Might Heart movie), and lunch b/c we were starving. Home with the food, out with daughter for an appt where I eeked out a few words in the waiting room on my Neo, to the Mall for pickign up a repair at Apple for my daughter, which took over half an hour b/c of the holiday, then picked up second daughter, came home, wa lked dogs, am taking a breather NOW. Then out again in half an hour for appts with both daughters … I need to let off some steam: and and finally …

This is totally off topic, but has anyone else noticed that the timestamp on these posts is an hour wrong. I’m looking at the comment posted by Carly and it says 3:48 pm, however, it is only 3:11pm at the moment and I am on the east coast. Is this a problem due to the time change??? I have two favorite colors: Peach and brown. Since they didn’t have peach, I did the brown:

Gee Carly, so much for a day off!!!

I put up most of the Christmas decorations outside. Then hubby wanted to go to LL Bean where I bought 2 sweaters and a pair of snow pants for all the snowblowing I have to do. Then he took me to Real Seafood for dinner. Now I am

Posted on Plotmonkeys, went out to appt, went with one child, returned home with three, (don’t ask!), walked dogs, fed dogs, walked dogs, made dinner, cleaned dinner, put plates in dishwasher, came upstairs. Bailey ended up upstairs, distracted me from doing anything, had a long overdue talk with a friend, argued with daughter, made up with daughter, and sat back down. Which brings us to now. And the night isn’t over yet.

A lot of what it came up with is true. I am very sensitive, peaceful (for the most part), I am a deept thinker…and I mean as deep as a well…I like to think things over before I act anyway…I am tranquil and somewhat connected (depends on how they mean, probably emotionally and spiritually, which would be true again. However, I must say that I am not very experimental nor am I affected…I just love the way that blue blends with my skin tone…nope there isn’t a vain bone in my body, but I do look good in blue and reds too, but blue is my fav…

O.k. there are a lot of us who like pink and purple. Purple has been my favorite ever since I was a teenager. As I got older, everytime I wore purple I got compliments. So, I really like purple. All the words describe me to a T. I am wondering if the “rare” is supposed to mean that we are very unusual people.

I have recently begun to favor the color pink. I especially like wearing pink with blue jeans. I found a marvelous top in Frankenmuth, Michigan that is a wonderful shade of pink with Frankenmuth in blue lettering. The blue resembles the color of jeans and is a perfect match with them! Also, I have been buying pink accessories, watch, earrings, shoes, and it is so much fun to incorporate the color into my outfit.

I’m not spiritual or experimental, but, the rest pretty well fits me.

My computer time is also messed up. Tried fixing, but, to no avail. I would think it would be change of daylight savings, but, it started before that. So, have no clue….
