I Couldn’t Resist

Julie Icon

I’m on a hellacious deadline. Somehow, this book got away from me and on Monday, I had to cut about 2500 words that simply were not working and go back to the drawing board. I’m only now catching up. So it’s little wonder that I spent a bit of time Monday night fiddling and procrastinating and generally making myself laugh hysterically because after cutting 2500 words from a book I’m barely going to finish on time, I needed to laugh myself silly.

Enjoy!

Hopefully, Brenda will not hate me forever.

Nah…she’s been working with me for ten years…the woman has an excellent sense of humor!

So…what do you do when you need a laugh???

  1. Julie, what a great way to wake up this morning! That was so hysterically funny I had tears running down my face. Maybe we ought to sign up for Dancing With The Stars!

As for Brenda forgiving you . . . I don’t know if she will after making her a can-can girl. But, man, what a treat! :giggle:

    We love you, Brenda!

  7. OMG - that way hysterical. I’ve learned so much from all of you over the past year and half but one thing I’ve learned to be a given…all deadlines are hellacious!

Paula R - I’m like you. I don’t laugh as much as I should. Years ago there was a song out, I can’t think of the name but it had a line that said, “She’d be a whole lot prettier if she smiled” and leave it up to my oldest (and very wise son) to point out that that song could have been about me. “You never smile anymore Mom and you’re so pretty when you do.” He was about 12 at the time.

He now understands the reality of his brother’s mood disorder and what a toll it takes on us, but I still think about that sometimes and make a conscious effort to put a smile on. It does feel much better than frowning.

Now when I need a laugh, I’m going to the Plotmonkeys archives and pull up that video!!!!

  8. This just cracks me up, especially because my computer is acting squirrelly and when I tried to play it, our heads kept coming in and out and in one spot you can see the real guy in one of the dresses! Hilarious!

  9. What a great laugh!
It’s amazing where you always get this great stuff from. When I need a laugh I mostly watch comedies. There are some I can watch again and again without getting tired and those are the ones as well that really crack me up. But now when I need something to get me laughing instead of turning on the TV I’ll switch on the computer and look for …Have a guess.
Yeah you’re right : Your video. That’s so funny, I simply have to watch it again and again. Have to stop now. Want to watch your video once more.

    See you

  10. Whatever it is it must be really funny. Unfortunately I couldn’t get it to play…

Hope everyone has a wonderful day. Julie, good luck with your deadline. Don’t worry about Brenda, she LOVES you guys.

    Take care all,

  11. FYI, I do have to click the center of the box a few times before it plays…keep trying! It’s worth it!

When I need to laugh (beyond watching this) I like to watch Will & Grace. There’s nearly always a rerun on somewhere. Or the Cosby Show…or the very best one, Designing Women. Those are a little harder to find, though.

  15. Julie, it took awhile to start playing on my computer but it was worth the wait! That is really priceless.
I laugh easily so I can be reading, watching TV, reading an email & something usually makes me laugh. It is one of the best things in life & free! :giggle:
Good luck finishing making your deadline.

  17. Julie, if you have the ION tv station, Designing Women is on 4 or 5 days a week from 6-7 pm(CST). I also watched a couple of episodes the other night on Nick at Night. I wish they would put all the seasons out on dvd, Designing Women is always good for a laugh.

  18. I just recommended this website to one of my customers today. I wonder if she visited and ran the other way!!!

I love JibJab and this is very funny.

One of the animals usually gets me laughing when I need it at home, or one of the kids at work will do something silly. But I can usually find humor in almost anything.

    Now, go write woman!!

blue box I hit the Blue Box and it goes away. I have tried it over and over

I have no idea why I continue to believe it will eventually appear.

I am not hitting that darn button one morew time, Nope not gonna do it.

  20. Jodie, sometimes it is hard to smile or laugh because this world is so messed up. Throughout my life, there have been very rare occasions when I have laughed or just smiled because it was easier. I will eventually learn to let things go I am sure, but it is not that easy when so much is riding on your own personal success…nothing is a joke, but everything is done for survival.

    Peace and love,

  21. Julie, I actually like Will & Grace as well as th Cosby show…they show Will & Grace on Lifetime television everynight at around 11 p.m. EST and the WB also shows it late at night. Cosby comes on with Fresh Prince of Bel Air regularly too. When I was younger, the Cosby Show was funny, but as I got older, I watched them for the life lessons that are always present rather than the comedic aspect of it…yeah…I am a dull person…

    Peace and love,
    Paula R.
