And now for the Sunday funny, just in time for Halloween! I can’t take all the credit for this one. Our own Jodie sent this funny to me to use:

This was in the Washington Post… the title of the article was “Best Come Back Line Ever.”*

In summary, the police arrested Patrick Lawrence, 22 year old white male, in a pumpkin patch 11:38 p.m. on Friday night. On Monday, at the Gwinnett County courthouse, Lawrence was charged with lewd and lascivious behavior, public indecency, and public intoxication.

The suspect explained that as he was passing a pumpkin patch on his way home from a drinking session when he decided to stop, “You know how a pumpkin is soft and squishy inside, and there was no one around for miles or at least I thought there wasn’t anyone around” he stated in a telephone interview. Lawrence went on to say that he pulled over to the side of the road, picked out a pumpkin that he felt was appropriate to his purpose, cut a hole in it, and proceeded to satisfy his alleged ‘need.’ “Guess I was really into it, you know?” he commented with evident embarrassment.

In the process of doing the deed, Lawrence failed to notice an approaching police car and was unaware of his audience until officer Brenda Taylor approached him.

“It was an unusual situation, that’s for sure,” said officer Taylor. “I walked up to Lawrence and he’s just banging away at this pumpkin.” Officer Taylor went on to describe what happened when she approached Lawrence .

“I said, “Excuse me sir, but do you realize that you’re having sex with a pumpkin?”

He froze and was clearly very surprised that I was there, and then he looked me straight in the face and said…

“A pumpkin? Shit…is it midnight already?”

Tonight on HGTV they’re showing really haunted halloween houses. Actually it’s people’s houses they’ve turned into haunted houses. I wanted to tell you about it case you didn’t know. I’m thinking next year you should submit yours

We went to a friends house for a party yesterday- they are from MA, so naturally, Sox fans. Except for one son, who just had to wear his Yankees sweatshirt. Surprised he got out with it intact!!

  9. Yay Cher and Tara!!

Glad you guys like the funny. I though it was hysterical and had to share it with Janelle. Glad she passed it on for you guys!

Hope everyone enjoys the day. We’re having an impromptu Halloween Party tonight so I’m scrambling to pull some stuff together. We used to do a big production, not quite as big as Leslie and Bruce, but we had a storage building full of Halloween decorations and we gave them away when we moved. Now I’m scrambling to pull it together with bits and pieces of stuff.

    Have a great day, everyone!!

Did anyone else’s clocks get all messed up? My vcr (yes, I am still in the dark ages) ‘fell back’ because it thought it was the day to do so. Guess I need to upgrade my technology.

  13. Thanks for the funny!

And hey, thanks for choosing my name out of the hat! Cool!

Hope you all are having a great Sunday.

Our Rockies are getting their head handed to them but I still think they’re the best. It’s their first time in the World Series and Colorado loves their teams whether they’re winning or not.

    Take care all,

    Cher

  15. Cher - I think it’s fantastic that you support your team win or lose. There was just a letter to the editor in our local paper about our college football team. It stated that everyone wants the team to grow and win and the school to move up to a higher conference, yet the stadium is half empty for most games and if they’re losing the stadium is completely empty before the game ever finishes. Good for you for standing behind them!!

  18. Katie, my newer dvd/vcr combo has automatic daylight savings time set to the old schedule for DST. My old one doesn’t have it, so I only had to re-set one clock this morning.
