SEALED WITH A KISS - One Day and Counting!
Guess what? SEALED WITH A KISS is in bookstores tomorrow. Finally! So please, everyone, help ease this author’s stress, get out there and buy the book
I’ll be eternally grateful!
The better news though is that I’m not going to spend today talking about why you should buy or read SEALED WITH A KISS. Instead, I’m going to talk about strange phenomenons. Like what? Well, let’s start with the old female “time of the month”. It’s been said (and maybe documented though I’m not sure) that when women are very close friends and/or live together (i.e. college roommates), their cycles fluctuate until somehow, they end up at that “time of the month” at the same time. (No, I can’t believe I’m discussing this the week my book is out but still. It’s true). Now, I can attest to this phenomenon with females in one house. I got my last period (ever of my life - the one before my surgery) the SAME DAY my oldest daughter got her first one ever. How’s that for unbelievable? ![]()
I can also attest to the phenomenon with close friends who don’t even live in the same state (but cross country!) because every year at National, Janelle and I would be in sync, if you get my drift. I used to say that we could have a fire sale of feminine products out of our room.
Then I had surgery and I no longer participate in that monthly ritual. No more strange phenomenon between friends. Right?
Wrong. A few months ago, I started complaining about tooth pain but the dentist couldn’t narrow it down to one tooth, so he waited until we could figure it out - and last week I began to feel hot and cold sensitivity. Able to narrow it down, I needed root canal in one tooth.
That same week, Janelle went to the dentist and discovered that she was in need of root canal in not one but three teeth! Same week. Same antibiotics. Same pain.
Go figure. ![]()

Oooh, I’m hoping to get Sealed With a Kiss and JR Ward’s book tomorrow. It’s a good release day!
Yes, I’ve noticed this has happened in the office where I work. My poor boss, stuck with 3 women who are all cranky and chocolate-deprived at the same time LOL.

Can’t wait to get SWAK! And yes Carly I have heard the same and do believe it.
Comment by Michelle — September 24, 2007 @ 8:01 am
Wow that’s quite amazing - I guess I never really thought about it, but growing up my mom, my sister and I used to be pretty in sync.
Wednesday is my day off this week and I’ve got SWAK on my “must buy” list! Can’t wait to read it!
Comment by Carolyn A. — September 24, 2007 @ 8:08 am
oh my god, that’s amazing. I’ve already heard it, too but honestly I didn’t quite believe it. But now…
Can’t wait till I’ll get SWAK. Unfortunately, living in Germany is a disadvantage again.
I’ll beable to order it tomorrow. But that doesn’t mean that I’ll belong to the lucky owners of SWAK; in other words: have to wait a few weeks till I’ll finally get it. That way, you’ll learn to cherish what you’ve got. So be grateful guys.

Well I think most women cycle about the same time each month in theory.
Me I’m almost too old to remember when

Gosh I always thought I had it bad being the only female in a house full of guys, but I hadn’t ever thought about a guy in a house full of women all PMSing at the same time.
Hope you and Janelle are both recovering and feeling much, much better this week. Hopefully all that tooth trouble is behind you.
Happy Monday!!

I will be the first in line at the book store to buy Sealed with a Kiss. Can’t wait!
I’m quite thrilled that I don’t participate in the “monthly” ritual anymore either. My last was over two years ago.
The only great thing about menopause…
Carly, I hope you and Janelle are feeling much, much better. I go to the dentist on Friday to have a permanent crown put on.
Take care all and have a wonderful day. I have a horrible cold…

Carly: I saw the video yesterday for the first time. The gun shot freaked me out! It’s a little scary…..I am looking forward to the book. I just bought a WHOLE lot of books yesterday (don’t even ask). I tried to pre-order SWAK, but I couldn’t
…..Guess, I will have to go to the store soon.
Re: in sync with others…I remember in college, I lived in a sorority house (yes, I was Suzie Sorority, strange, but, alas true)…it was bad once a month….let me tell you…..

Comment by katie — September 24, 2007 @ 9:21 am
Carly: I just posted over at SOAPBOXQUEENS (they are as fun as we are here!)….you should put that picture on your website or something…too cute…
Comment by katie — September 24, 2007 @ 9:26 am
I can’t wait to get to the bookstore tomorrow. Now I have at least 2 books to buy…SWAK and the new JR Ward.
I lived with two of my best friend for 6 years right after I moved to Nashville. We were in sync within about a month. It is the same for my sister’s two teenage girls too.
Comment by Liza — September 24, 2007 @ 9:45 am
Isn’t it crazy how that happens with women? Crazy.
Thanks, Katie. The pic is at the bottom of my website at least for night now …
Ugh on the crown, Cher. I have to go for mine on Wed of next week for the tooth that had root canal.
Comment by Carly — September 24, 2007 @ 10:00 am
My two girls and I are on the same cycle here, too. Poor Don is so out numbered. This is a household of all girls — even our two cats
and our dog
are all girls!
I’m telling you, it’s true friendship when girlfriends share root canal problems!
Cher, feel better soon!!!
Comment by Janelle — September 24, 2007 @ 10:09 am
Hi Carly! I’ll be at the bookstore tomorrow. I can’t wait to read SWAK. It is weird how women can be so in sync with one another! I’ve also had surgery so don’t have to deal with that monthly ritual anymore and boy, I sure don’t miss it!
Comment by Robin — September 24, 2007 @ 10:53 am
Karen, There’s good news & bad news at Borders Express in Burbank, CA. The bad news, there’s no copies of SWAK to be purchased; the good news, it already had its allocation, & they’re already sold. However, if I wish, I can ORDER it. Fortunately, did find it at Walgreens, but, have yet to read it. I’m certain it’ll be great reading.
Good thoughts on the dental surgeries/repair work for you & Janelle.

I always say the hysterectomy was the best thing I ever did. I highly recommend it. LOL.
Comment by Carly — September 24, 2007 @ 12:46 pm
First, can’t wait to get Sealed with A Kiss. Was at Wal-Mart this a.m. and they didn’t have it out yet. Bummer! Will look at Waldenbooks tomorrow.
As for the cycles, this is hilarious because a friend and I just discussed it this morning . I have PCOS and haven’t had regular cycles in years. Shortly after we started hanging out my periods have slowly become regular and now we start a couple of days apart. Definitely an interesting phenomenon.
Carly and Janelle - I hope you are both feeling better.

In refrence to the cylce thing…misery loves company
or anyone else for that matter
My daughter and I are usually miserable together, its a miracle we don’t kill each other
Amazon shipped my SWAK today!

Comment by Tina Martinesi — September 24, 2007 @ 1:45 pm
I am looking forward to reading SWAK! Just yesterday I finished reading Cross My Heart, such a good story. Thanks Carly for a good weekend read.

I’ll try to remember to go visit your guest blogs. Have fun!
I hope that you & Janelle both heal quickly from your dental problems.
Comment by Donna M — September 24, 2007 @ 1:59 pm
ACK! Keep those root canal needing teeth away from me! I have a dentist appt in a couple of weeks.
BTW…that females in a house thing? So totally true. Poor Bruce.
Comment by Leslie — September 24, 2007 @ 2:01 pm
I never thought of the poor men who have to live with the women. Then again, we have to live with THEM …
Comment by Carly — September 24, 2007 @ 2:55 pm
LOL on your last comment, Carly…that is so true…I live in a houseful of boys and a husband….you don’t even want to know the testosterone in our house. I want to get a female dog, just to help even it all out!
Comment by katie — September 24, 2007 @ 3:08 pm
LOL Katie, I’m in the same boat as you! And I totally agree with you Carly regarding the hysterectomy. I’d recommend it too.
Comment by Robin — September 24, 2007 @ 3:43 pm
Thanks Carly and Janelle for the feel better wishes. I’m getting there.
Have a good evening and I’ll chat with you all tomorrow

I’m so excited SWAK comes out tomorrow. I’ve read it and trust me it’s a great book!!! I’ll still be out there tomorrow buying not one but two. One to have (even though I have the arc) and one to give away on my blog next week.
Comment by Vicki — September 24, 2007 @ 4:21 pm
Thank you, Vicki! That’s so nice of you! Unnecessary but REALLY nice!
Comment by Carly — September 24, 2007 @ 4:41 pm
Am going to pick up Sealed With A Kiss tomorrow .
Comment by Estella — September 24, 2007 @ 5:20 pm
I grew up with 3 sisters plus with my Mom so I can verify what you say is so true. One week out of the month, we were tempted to put up KEEP OUT! signs or ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!

I am so happy that SWAK is finally here.
Comment by Carol R — September 24, 2007 @ 7:41 pm
Got my copy of SWAK today!
Comment by Jodie — September 24, 2007 @ 8:13 pm
Carly, I noticed this synchronization when I went to boot camp…living in a barracks with 59 other females really messes you up…talk about syncing…I hate when my cycle has just ended and then I go visit my mom for a couple of weeks and it starts again because my sister and her are both having theirs…that really bothers me…
I can’t wait til SWAK comes out…I ordered it from Amazon, but my package hasn’t come yet, so I will try to get it tomorrow at Walmart…they always get the “monkey” books out quickly, except Janelle’s latest Wilde one…I was bummed about that…at this rate, I will have two copies of all the books that I ordered from them….
I hope that everyone is having a wonderful week so far…I have some tests to write, so I am going to sign off now…talk to you guys soon…
Peace and love,
