Sunday Winner and Killer Video…

Julie Icon

Congratulations to Beth, comment #9, who is the winner of the margarita, lemon drop OR appletini mixer…please send me an email (julie @ julieleto . com) with your snail mail address and your preference! And don’t forget you must drink one for me!

I don’t have a funny today, but I have this amazing video that my 13 year old niece showed me, not knowing that I am a huge fan of Bob Fosse and think his one-time wife, Gwen Verdon, is one of the coolest chicks ever. You may have seen this, but if you haven’t, the video was shot years ago…but the music was just added. It’s amazing! They were not dancing to this music originally, but it sure looks like it. Enjoy!

  1. Yay, Beth!!! Enjoy that prize!!

Julie, I had a queston yesterday, I just couldn’t remember what it was and it hit me this morning. I know you’re in the middle of editing so if you don’t have a chance to answer (or not for a while) that’s OK. I read on Romance Divas where you said you completely rewrote a book from scratch. But I didn’t really understand why you did that. Can you explain? Is that the one you were saying that it was a great concept you just didn’t have the skill originally to pull it off, but now you do?

Sorry…I know this belonged in yesterday’s subject, my brain just didn’t click until today!

  4. Music fits perfectly — and I love the fact that, given the costumes and hairstyles, Verdon was in her 40s when she did this. Amazing and talented lady. (I was very much a Follower of Fosse when I was young and a dancer.)

  6. Oh, that’s phenomenal! I’m such a Fosse fan as well…

It’s amazing to me how well it fits with the modern music. Better even, I think, than the one it originally went with!

  12. Congrats Beth…enjoy your prize…

Julie, I thought you didn’t have a Sunday funny…. This was funny enough to lift my spirits…I have no idea who Fosse is or his one time wife for that matter, but the moves in this video match perfectly…now I want to see the original video…Have a happy and productive writing day…

Have a wonderful rest of the weekend guys, and those of you in the path of Hurricane Dean take…my family in Jamaica are really going to feel it today…I just pray that everyone is safe…

  13. Paula, did you ever see the movie ALL THAT JAZZ? You need to rent it. Roy Schieder plays a character “based” on Bob Fosse, the famous Broadway choreographer. Gwen Verdon (who played the sassy older woman in Cocoon) was either his first wife or one of his wives. He (Fosse) was also involved with Ann Reinking, another amazing dancer–she played a character loosely based on herself in ATJ. It’s worth renting if you love modern dance, which I do.

Julie, loved the video, hated the music! Thanks for the suggestion of renting the movie All That Jazz. I loved Bob Fosse, what a talented man.
    Enjoy your Sunday everyone.
