Julie’s Jungle Madness Friday!
I’m buried under in revisions, but am coming up for air to offer what I need most right now.
Guess what that is.
No, really.
Guess.
Okay, I give.
If you guessed booze, you’re right. But I can’t ship booze, so I’ll provide the mixer and the sugar rimmer for the glass. Winner gets to pick ONE of the following and must promise to drink one for me.

Hopefully you’ll be through with the revisions soon.
If I win, I’d love to share the drinks with you…hee hee hee.
Since I’m in packing hell right now getting ready to move I could use the drink.

Woo hoo, sounds like a fun time LOL. I hope you take a break soon Julie, and have a little celebration of your own. Happy Friday! What’s on everyone’s agenda this weekend? I’m hoping to go see the “Bourne Ultimatum” and maybe have a few margaritas

My day has not started out good as my coffee pot is not working….grrrr! I have to have my coffee to get started, BUT, maybe one of those tempting drinks might just do it for me instead…ha,ha. They all look so delicious right about now, especially the Margaritas….but definitely willing to share with you.
Wishing everyone a happy and safe week-end. and I am off to find a wake-up extra large cup of coffee.

:cocktail: Julie, I’ll have a Berrytini for you tonight. It’s just been one of those weeks. Some Vodka and Berrytini mix sounds like it would hit the spot. If you like those blue raspberry popsicles then you would love one of these!! Problem is they go down way too quick and way too easy. LOL!!
Comment by Kelly F. — August 17, 2007 @ 10:57 am
LOL Hang in there Julie:cocktail:
Hope everyone enjoys their weekend….TGIF
Comment by Tina Martinesi — August 17, 2007 @ 10:59 am
Julie, good luck with the revisions this weekend. I am sure everything will turn out great…I am not much of a drinker, so don’t think of me when you do prizes okay…whoever wins, I am sure they will have a drink on/with or for you…I can’t wait to see the finished product when you are done…don’t forget to come up for air sometimes though and have a big old
when you are done…You are a great writer
and frustration is only one of the stages you have to go through right? I know I sound like a therapist…I am not, just a teacher…have fun no matter what though cause this fan can’t wait to see what comes out of all the frustration you have built up about revisions…

HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!!! THOSE MIXERS SURE LOOK GOOD!!!! HAPPY READING!!!
DONNA:doggie:
Comment by DONNA — August 17, 2007 @ 11:39 am
Thanks, Paula, and everyone. One of the reasons the revisions are so frustrating is simply because I’m a VERY slow reader. I’m doing my last pass through the manuscript before the copy editor and proofreaders get their go and I want to try and fix any little errors on my own. Because I have to read so carefully, it takes me a good 15 minutes to a half hour to read a single page. I know that sounds ridiculous, but that’s how my brain works (it has something to do, I’ve heard, with the dominant eye being the opposite of my dominant hand, but who knows?)
Just last night, I found the word–whever. Not a word, right? Spell check clearly didn’t catch it…neither did I on my first read through, my editor on her revision read or my SIL, who read for me. I didn’t even catch it this time, honestly, until I had to go back and check something and there it was! Crazy. It’s funny how the brain just “supplies” the extra letters so that everyone who’d read it knew what I meant and moved on!
My hero’s last name even changed in one spot…my villain’s first name changed, then went back, then changed again! (Granted, the two names were VERY similar.) Little stuff takes so much time to catch…but I’m halfway there…hopefully, by next Wednesday, we’ll have a big party here at Plotmonkeys!!!

Alice, I didn’t pick similar names on purpose! I just forgot what his name was from one chapter to the next…when you’re writing fast, these things happen. Kyle became Keith and then Kyle. It had a K!
The moral of the story is write slower…but I’d like to think some people wouldn’t like that much either…namely, my editor!
Barb, I’m going back in the closet now, I promise!
Comment by Julie Leto — August 17, 2007 @ 2:23 pm

Comment by Cherie J — August 17, 2007 @ 2:25 pm
Well, revisions don’t sound like the fun part of the job, but we all know that they have to be done. Good luck with getting through them so that you can enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Then we can both have a drink :cocktail: together, even if we are not physically in the same place, lol. Have a great weekend everyone!
Comment by Joanne — August 17, 2007 @ 2:43 pm
I always know where to find a party on a Friday!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Comment by Sue A. — August 17, 2007 @ 3:20 pm
This prize sounds really good right now. I’m in Alabama and we are on like the 12th day of the temp. being over 100 degrees. And I already have problems during the summer because I am really sensitive to the heat. If I get overheated, I end up getting dizzy and get a migraine. So right now anything that is cool and refreshing sounds really good!
Comment by Claudia — August 17, 2007 @ 3:27 pm

Actually, katie, I was thinking the same thing. Clearly, booze does not go over as well as chocolate.
Better chances for everyone else, I guess! :cocktail:

Julie, chocolates are aphrodisiacs…not so booze…
