Top 10 Things Leslie Did Instead of Going to Nationals
Okay, for the rest of this week, we’ll be hearing what the other monkeys did at Nationals, I’m sure. So I thought I’d start things out with what I did during RWA week!! (I’m still not 100% w/ typing so I’ve been putting off a long magnum opus on the move…it’s coming…someday…
Now, my week…
10. Started to unpack my office so I’d still feel like a writer. Gave up after box # 2 when I realized I have no printer stand, no filing cabinet…and no desk.
9. Went to see Harry Potter. And the Transformers. And Pirates 3. Loved Harry. Liked Transformers. Hated Pirates 3.
8. Spent another hundred bucks on eBay junk.
7. Spent another several hundred bucks at Lowes and Home Depot.
6. Dug through 15 boxes of Christmas stuff in the garage trying to find the wood knife-drawer separator hubby got as a Christmas present only to discover it in the basement.
5. Helped hubby make a New Orleans feast for oldest daughter’s b-day. (And 2 pies!)
4. Watched said oldest daughter have her boyfriend in the house for a week and wondered if this whole “she’s the oldest, she’ll be fine having her own room in the basement TWO floors down from us!” thing was a bad idea.
3. Took Motrin by the fistful, as is my habit, currently for the right shoulder. Think I have a rotator cuff injury…going back to the date when I electrocuted myself.
2. “Watched” the Rita ceremony on Dear Author and Smart Bitches…and cheered for Rocki when she won.
1. MISSED MY PLOTMONKEY BUDDIES!!!!
What’d you guys do?

10. Read Anne Stuart’s “Black Ice” and enjoyed it.
9. Saw Harry Potter 5 and wished it were longer - it felt a bit undone, but I did like it a lot.
8. Went and bought all 6 books and finished “The Sorcerer’s Stone”.
7. Drank numerous McD’s french vanilla iced coffees - love em, and have at least one everyday.
6. Went to Cheeseburger In Paradise & tried a shrimp po’ boy sandwich - yum.
5. Upgraded my phone plan after getting a bill for $167 for going over my minutes - and I hate talking on the phone, I just have chatty friends.
4. Discovered the joys of Netflix and watched “Pride & Prejudice” (for the 2nd time) and “Music & Lyrics”.
3. Read & finished the first HP book and like how much was included in movie.
2. Went to the Ram restaurant and had a beer sampler - they have a beer called Butthead which ironically didn’t taste too bad.
1. Missed the Plotmonkeys and all the friends and authors who went to RWA this year, and hope I go next year.

Ten things I did this past weekend.
, instead of my bestfriend. He called me and sent two text messages if I was mad at him. I said no. But he explained why it was a short conversation. So now we are good.
1) Went to work Saturday at god awfully early hours with only 2 hrs sleep.
2) After work waited for a friend to come over to my place to pick up his candles that he ordered in February, which sat in my coat closet for only 5 months.
3) My friend and I moved my old broken dresser to trash bin. Within 20 mins someone picked up my old dresser and took it.
4) My parents and brother came over with my new dresser, moved that in. Then we went to an Italian restaurant. Our last meal, since my brother moves this week and my parents move in August.
5) After dinner with parents and moving fell asleep at 7pm.
6) Sunday got up early to see Harry Potter. Great movie.
7) At movies saw Evening. Excellent movie. I want to read the book now.
8) Shopped at Target and Bed Bath and Beyond.
9) Watched Army wives.
10) Spoke to the guy im dating at 4am Monday for 10 mins since he got off, sent a few text messages to my bestfriend complaining about lack of communication in relationship, well i accidently sent him the text message when i said men suck… oops
What a weekend and now off to work. Have a great day everyone.

5)read some “SHE”S NO ANGEL” (awesome, have less than an hundred pages left)
actually got a good night’s sleep (my boys decided to go to bed by 9:51 p.m. last night, which is HIGHLY unusual, my oldest is having a lot of autism, so sleep has become an issue)
4)today, we are going to the aquarium where they have a new exhibit which I am excited to see
3)drank WAY too many mocha frappachinos…I had to reload my gift card (didn’t tell hubby, either!)
2)read some awesome exerpts from the Plotmonkeys last week
1)made it to another day (sometimes, that is a good thing and all to be grateful for)
I can’t believe I made it to 10. Whew. No wonder I am exhasted. I forgot to mention that I got my middle guys’ party goods…no small feat….not many places have STAR WARS stuff….okay, his party isn’t for another month and a half, but I was thinking I would have to buy it for a small fortune off of EBAY!
Have a HAPPY Monday everyone!!!
