Leslie’s Jungle Madness Friday
Well, like I told you guys earlier this week, we have finally bought a house. So it’s officially time to celebrate. How about having a drink for me…on me!?!
Here’s just about everything you’ll need for one of my favorite drinks, the Sour Apple Martini. I’ll send you two of these beautiful green-base Ball Martini Glasses,

Plus a bottle of Sour Apple Martini mixer, and a tin of rimming sugar for your glasses. You just bring the vodka, and a good friend to share it with!
And since nothing goes so well with summery, fruity drinks, how about a couple of summery steamy books to read!!

I got two presents in the mail myself this week…my author copies of my next two releases, SHE’S NO ANGEL and HEAT WAVE. These won’t be in stores for weeks yet. The winner will get one autographed copy of each.
(PS: Can we make a deal? If you win them–and like them–please do me the huge favor of recommending them to your friends, fellow readers, etc. You all know how much I have riding on this book and I would SO appreciate it!)
You know what to do! Just comment and you’re eligible.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

That’s a fabulous prize. Happy Friday everyone.

Hmmmm……so if I win, how about I promise to make sure both books are porminently faced out on the shelves, right where all my customers can see them???

What a fun surprise……TGIF……I love the summer…sipping a refreshing drink in the evening is a perfect way to end a perfect day. I live in the mountains, while we have winter for 9 months, our summers are perfect. Sunny and warm during the day, cooling off in the evenings. In a month, my new house with the four covered porches will be finished. Cocktails anyone?

And Tina–ACK on your son! Is he okay?
Comment by Leslie — June 1, 2007 @ 10:57 am
Patty: YES. You can shake up one part mixer and one part club soda, strain it over ice into the martini glass, garnish with a green apple slice and voila! Virgin Appletini! :cocktail:
Comment by Leslie — June 1, 2007 @ 10:58 am
And thanks everyone for all the kudos on the house AND the book.
I can’t imagine what I’ll do for excitement next month…lolol!
Comment by Leslie — June 1, 2007 @ 10:59 am
OMG - what a fabulous prize!!! I have your books on my “must buy” list so getting an early copy would be so fantastic!!
Comment by Carolyn A. — June 1, 2007 @ 11:00 am
Leslie, Please exclude me from the prize. After living with an alcoholic ex-husband, I don’t drink.
Congrats again on your new home; I’m happy that all the family will finally be together.
Wanted to mention that I ordered HEAT WAVE last night from eHQ.com through its “upcoming books” ordering procedure, & am really looking forward to reading it. Would have also included SHE’S NO ANGEL, but, HQN books are not available using that method. However, as soon as it comes to my local Borders, I’ll be buying.

:cocktail: Leslie, I love apple martinis. Yummy. Plus I love telling people to read your books. In fact I was sitting on post yesterday and the male police officer was reading a Harlequin Blaze book. In fact his break person thought it was my book and I said nope thats his. I was surprised but then again I encouraged him to read yours, Julie’s, Carly’s, and Janelle’s books too.
Have a great weekend!

Don’t worry I will recommend the new books even if I don’t win the prize, although sour apple is something that I have never tried before and sounds tempting. Happy weekend everyone! :cocktail:

Those glasses are so pretty! I know, I’m weird. I collect interesting martini and wine glasses (my favorite has little glass hearts as a stem).

I’ve been hearing about appletini’s alot lately and I can’t wait to try one! Since I’m hosting an adult birthday party next weekend I might make those the “drink of choice”. Really, really looking forward to reading the books when they come out!

Good books and apple martinis?! Sign me up!
I don’t know much about martinis, I must admit, except that the apple ones are yummy. I *do* make a really mean margarita, though– every woman should have one “company” dish, and after the margaritas (I did mention I make them really strong, didn’t I?), who knows if my cooking was good or bad? Heck, they never remember *what* it was they ate, or if they ate at all!
Cheers! :cocktail:
(And congrats on the house!
)

Comment by Tina Byrd — June 1, 2007 @ 7:43 pm
Tina,
I’m sorry to hear about your son. My daughter who is now 28 yrs. old, also has epilepsy. It’s not a fun thing to go through
Thank God, she hasn’t had to take meds or had a seizure since she was 17 yrs. old.
How old is your son?
I don’t know about boys but she didn’t start having her’s until she was 12 yrs. old. It does run in her father’s side of the family and the Dr. said that it was because she was reaching puberty and all the hormone changes. He said that she would probably grow out of them within a year.
Well guess what? She didn’t!!:wallbash: We had to go through so many different types of meds, etc. and they always made her feel so badly, mostly sleepy all the time.
And it embarressed her, she was so afraid of having one at school or when she was out with her friends.
The law in TN was that she couldn’t get her driver’s license until she went a whole year without any seizures so she was almost 18 before she was allowed to drive.
When she became pregnant, everything got worse because of the hormone change and they had to triple her dosage of meds. They were always doing ultra sounds because they were afraid of the effects that the meds were going to have on the baby.
I don’t know if you have ever seen the movie, “Mask” with Cher. But at one time, they told us that the bably was going to be born with that disease. Lucky for us that didn’t happen.
Then when the baby was born, again because of the hormone changes, she was able to come completely off her meds and no problems in 8 yrs. Now, who knows what will happen if she ever got pregnant again but that is unlikely because of other medical problems. But even when she goes throught the change of life, something could happen. Anything related to hormonal changes.
Anyway, didn’t mean to make this such a long post. Just wanted to let you know that I’ve been there and know what you are going through so if you ever need anyone to talk to….I’m around.
Comment by Tina Byrd — June 1, 2007 @ 8:06 pm
