The thing I like about Sephora is that it doesn't feel like your wearing anything, plus I get discount there too. :)

I did my hair last week, went for a light ash blonde look, but it just lightened my hair a little but put in reddish highlights which I like. I seriously need a haircut though. Now that it is getting a little warmer I may just get it next week.

For me it is books and nail polish. I might be make-up if I didn't fight with my contacts so much. But...I think I own every OPI three pack ever sold. I mean...it's practically half price that way! And pedicures are my crack. I try to do them myself, but it is just not the same. Plus...pedis are great because you can be WILD with toe color. Mine are green with gold sparkles right now...GO DUCKS! The nails? French manicure in Sally Hansen Ideal. Yes, I know that. I have a signature nail for each book. Now THAT is TMI!:happy2:

Dayle, I'm glad I could help! I also use the Dermatalogica wipes that have witch hazel for those days when I'm not wearing makeup (most days!) and I just want to refresh my face and remove excess oils. It's a great product, but the rice powder is a miracle! Do let me know if it works for you. I still can't believe how fabulous it is.

And yes, you do need to start availing yourself of that spa! I mean...I'd get pedicures weekly if they were cheap!

Who mentioned nail polish? I don't paint (or cut or file) my nails...it's hopeless. But I love toenails and I love me some OPI!

Julie - thanks for the tip on Dermatologica. I'll have to give it a try. The College where I work just started an esthetician course and they sell and promote the stuff (at good prices I'm told) We have a "Spa" on campus. (manicures, pedicures, artificial nails, facials, etc.) For some reason, I have yet to take advantage of it. Definitely worth a shot. I just turned 34 and am still battling acne. As for makeup, I generally just wear foundation and powder. I wear eyeliner and mascara on special occasions (too lazy to get up early and put it all on.) :happy2:

Thanks for the advise Julie, I'll give that a try. I am so laughing about the shoe thing...my sister and her girls love to come to my house just to go through my shoe closet...no lie I have so many pairs of shoes they pretty much take up 1/2 of my closet. I am sunk if I walk into DSW or Off Broadway for shoes. I can only take in cash for the shoes on my list or I come out with 4 or 5 pairs of shoes.

Ev, the only way I've been able to keep my shoe fetish under control is because I have weird feet. Very little is comfortable on me. As long as I stay OUT of the DSW, I'm usually safe. But I cannot walk out of that store with less than four pairs!

What a fun post, Julie!

Well, I used to be just like Carly, where I couldn't leave the house without make-up, but in the past five years, I've been going without, unless I know I'm going somewhere and I need to look ALIVE.

But I still love buying make-up -- it's all those colors and shades and all the ways you can mix them and match them. ::sigh:: On our last plotmonkey retreat Carly and I went into a Sephora and I bought over $100 of new Stila eyeshadows. They were rich and gorgeous and I just wanted to play with them all! Have I used them? A few. As much as I love buying make-up, I seem to always go back to the same 'ol, same 'ol. Maybe because it's easy and familiar.

As for brand, I'm all over the place -- really. Foundation and concealer is MAC, face foundation powder is Merle Norman, eye shadow, brows, & blush are MAC, eye liner is "Flirt" from the Kohl's department store, mascara is Loreal, and lipstick is Estee Lauder. That's my daily face make-up. If find something I like, I stick with it.

I love lotions and creams. Bath and Bodyworks is one of my favorite stores! Sometimes I get hit by the make-up bug especially when it comes with a great bag!

ok- finally got thru them all!!

I am lazy. I am also a Maybelline/Cover Girl girl. I always use moisturizer and never leave without mascara on. Since I am basically a red head type, I have never suntanned, so I don't have blotches and wrinkles which makes me very, very happy. Bags under the eyes are another story, so now I am putting on foundation at 5 in the morning and a little blush. I have a drawer full of eye shadows and lipsticks- I wear eyeliner on occasion and use chapstick, maybe with a tint. Go figure.

Books and shoes are a whole nother story. I came home with the ARC for SEP's new one today. And I get to keep it!!:thumbsup2:
