Sunday Funny and Winner
The winner of the yummy Hershey’s chocolate, crystal Kiss dish and signed copy of THE BACHELOR is … (my youngest daughter’s favorite # 18 because it’s her birthday and Johnny Damon’s #)
VICKI
Email your mailing address to: carlyphillips@mac.com and I’ll send the chocolate direct from the website and the book from me!
And now for the Sunday funny. I hope you found this as relevant as I did. Some of these are SO me! (So much so that I put my personal comments after each one!)
YOU KNOW YOU’RE LIVING IN 2007 WHEN….
1. You accidentally enter your password on the microwave. (OK I haven’t done this one!)
2. You haven’t played solitaire with real cards in years. (Actually I prefer the real game)
3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of 3. (Try filling out those emergency cards for my kids’ schools!)
4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you. (My family emails not just room to room, but right next to each other in the same bed)
5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is that they don’t have e-mail addresses. (Yes, their loss. Email is the only way to go!)
6. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if anyone is home to help you carry in the groceries. (And American wonders why everyone’s gaining weight!)
7 Every commercial on television has a web site at the bottom of the screen. (If they don’t, they should have!)
8. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn’t have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go and get it. (And a dead cell phone with no charger in sight is cause for an actual anxiety attack)
10. You get up in the morning and go on line before getting your coffee. (I go online before getting out of bed! Laptop …)
11. You start tilting your head sideways to smile. (LOL!)
: )
12. You’re reading this and nodding and laughing. (Aren’t you?)
13. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to forward this message. (Well normally yes, but I saved it especially for all of you. I was afraid another plotmonkey would steal it ![]()
14. You are too busy to notice there was no #9 on this list. (I’m too busy to notice the day of the week)
15. You actually scrolled back up to check that there wasn’t a #9 on this list (Not until I read # 15)
AND NOW YOU ARE LAUGHING at yourself…. BUT OF COURSE … AREN’T YOU?
Go on, forward this to your friends. You know you want to….
MY FAVORITE AND THE ONE MOST RELEVANT TO ME IS # 4 - EMAIL from bed to bed; # 5 No email address, don’t expect to hear from me; # 8 Heaven forbid I forget my cell; and last but not least # 10 Email and blogging first thing in the morning! What’s your favorite?
HAPPY SUNDAY!

#6- I do it all the time. Hey, she is younger and healthier than I am and needs the exercise just as much!!!
Leave the house without my cell phone? Only when I want to be left alone- usually for lunch with a good book!!
congrats Vicki!!!

Love these…and, unfortunately, they are so true.
Yes, I definitely will be forwarding them to my friends…just too cute not to.
Really can see myself after reading #5 and #8.

Congratulations, Vicki!
Oh how true they all are! 5 and 10 fit me to a tee.

So true, so true. Here’s another… my boss in the adjacent office email’s me all the time, then comes to my office to tell me that he’s sent me an email…

Sooooo funny! And so very true! My hubby and I will watch TV with our laptops and send stuff back and forth to each other from one side of the couch to another.

HI–I ENJOYED ALL OF THEM AND GOT A LOT OF LAUGHS OUT OF IT
TOO–A LOT OF THEM APPLY TO ME TOO.
I WAS WONDERING HOW YOU PICKED THE WINNER FOR THE PRIZE,
AND SEE THAT THIS TIME YOU USED THE BIRTHDAY.
SO, HOW WILL YOU PICK ONE NEXT TIME.
AM WONDERING HOW THE OTHER AUTHORS PICK OUT THEIR

Alice, I think we all do it the same way. I look at the total # of messages posted up until late Saturday night, and ask a member of my family to pick a number between 1 and that top number. Whoever is that message number (unless it’s one of *us*…lol!) wins!
Comment by Leslie — March 11, 2007 @ 1:59 pm
It’s different for everyone (how we pick) but I usually ask whoever’s in the room to pick a number between 1 and however many entries I have, then check the previous winners list to see if the person has one before, and that’s that for me. VERY unscientific!

Love the Sunday funnies, I’ve seen them before but still laugh!
Have a great Sunday. I hate the time change it is messing with my internal clock!!!

My favorites are #6 and #8. Whenever I go to the grocery store which is about 5 minutes away I call ahead and tell my 2 sons to be waiting for me. Carly you are so right about forgetting your cell and panic attacks. Crazy isn’t it since we didn’t have one growing up!
