Home again…slightly wounded!

Leslie Icon

Okay, I was going to blog about some of the things we monkeys got up to on our trip to Nashville, but one of the things that happened is making it tough for me to type today.

You see, on Saturday, when we were plotting, Janelle’s nifty little digital recorder locked up. We decided to try to open it and remove the battery in an effort to reset it, but didn’t have a tiny Phillips screwdriver to do it. So brilliant me decides to use this multi purpose travel tool thingie…and while I was screwing, it snapped shut and sliced my finger open but good, right across the knuckle. As of now, Sunday evening at home, the inch-long wound still starts bleeding again if I bend my finger.

So typing ain’t easy.

Drip drip…blood on the keyboard…see how much I love you guys?

Anyway, I’m thinking I might be in for a trip to the dr for a stitch or two Monday…I’ll keep you posted.

Someone else will give more details about the trip, I’m sure, but I’ll just throw in my 2 cents: spending one or two weekends a year with Julie, Janelle and Carly plotting, laughing, eating, griping, crying, and just giving each other support no matter what, is something I have come to treasure.

Thanks guys, from the bottom of my heart.

  2. Leslie,
Go to the store and buy some liquid Bandaid. :thumbsup2:
    It is wonderful stuff.

I sliced my hand open in the skin between my thumb and index finger. I couldn’t keep the wound closed. I had heard about liquid Bandaid but I had never tried. So I hopped in the car when to the store and bought some. I keep it in the medicine cabinet always now.

I’m sorry you hurt yourself on your trip, but I’m glad you gals otherwise had a fun time.:doggie:

  3. Glad you guys had a great time!!

Liquid Bandaid is a wonderful thing. We use it at the bar, cause there is no way to keep a bandaid on when you are washing glasses and mixing drinks.

But, since there is not purple one, here is a red one for your injury in the writing battlefield.:love2:

  5. That sounds painful! I am glad you had a great time. Spending time with your friends is good for the soul. I bet you guys are all feeling rejuvinated. I hope you get that cut taken care of. You really are dedicated to the board if you are typing and reopening that wound!

  7. I did something similar at Nationals this year. Arrive in Atlanta on Tuesday; cut finger open when the Leatherman tool collapses. I probably should’ve gotten stiches, but decided to go to the Ga. Aquarium instead. It was still bleeding Saturday night when we went to the Ritas.

    Hope you heal quickly!

  10. This year, it seems we were all the walking wounded in some way or another! Leslie with her sliced open knuckle, Julie with her bum foot, Carly with her migraines, and me with my pinched nerve in my neck that is making my left arm useless!

BUT, it was a great trip, as always. I love my Plotmonkey Pals!

  11. Not to mention the log-sized splinter I got in my finger right before I got on the plane that took both Janelle AND Leslie to get out on Saturday (before Leslie sliced her knuckle open!)

Seriously, we were not our healthiest this year…but we still managed to have a fabulous time AND plot some amazing books!

  19. I see Kimberly’s already told about her little Leatherman episode. When I read Leslie’s post I thought “It’s deja vu all over again.”

    Hope you heal quickly!

Nashville, huh? You were right in our backyard — well the extended backyard. Hope you enjoyed the Music City. My sister and I took one of our “girl trips” there a few years ago and had a blast.
