Julie’s Jungle Madness Friday
Just yesterday, I received an amazing gift in the mail from brand-new author Tawny Weber, whose first Blaze will be out next spring…a box of See’s Chocolates!
Being that I’m from Florida and See’s is sold on the west coast, this is a delight I don’t get to partake of often. I was so excited to see Tawny’s gift…well, screaming was involved. Buy her books when the time comes, people. The woman is not only talented, but she has the absolute best taste in chocolate. (What is it with California chocolate…Ghirardelli is my second favorite, but at least it’s nationally distributed.) Anyway, inspired by Tawny, I’m giving away a 1lb box of assorted See’s chocolates to the continental US resident who posts here and whose name my daughter chooses! I’ll also throw in a copy of any of my books published this year. Your pick!
Thanks for playing!!

I’ve heard about See’s chocolates, but I haven’t had an opportunity to taste them yet! Have one for me this morning!

I’ve never heard of the company, but I’m willing to try it in the name of chocolate.

Another great prize. I hope everyone has a good weekend.
Comment by Maureen — December 15, 2006 @ 7:19 am
I’ll pass on the chocolate (gasp! I must be coming down with something!) because my favorite is actually Fannie May and we have that here in Chicago - in fact I have some pixies in my work bag. But good luck to the rest of you.
Happy holidays, Plotmonkeys and friends
Comment by Stacy ~ — December 15, 2006 @ 7:30 am
Stacy, Fannie May is my third favorite! We used to have a shop here by my house, but it closed. Anything from Chicago is good.

Another great prize and I Just love chocolate. I love Hersheys kisses and Godiva DARK chocolate assortment and really good truffles. QVC used to have huge gooey chocolates that were to die for. I dont remember the brand. Borders used to have Joseph Schmidt truffles that were right up there.

I’ve never had See’s chocolate either(but they sound awesome). Awesome prize as always. Happy Friday everyone!
Comment by Liza — December 15, 2006 @ 8:55 am
Chocolate! Oh, what a wonderful word…I can almost feel the sensuous soft drops of chocolate slide down my throat and bring me this delicious and wonderful feeling. Oh, soooo good! I LOVE chocolate of almost any kind, but my favorite is Ghirardelli. In fact, two years ago a friend of mine in California sent me a Ghiradelli chocolate bar. Nothing unusual you say…well, this was a 10 lb chocolate bar…one humongous candy bar! I thought I was in heaven and the whole thing was devoured in record time; I did allow others to join me in consuming this fantastic treat. Honest!
Wishing you a very Happy and Healthy Holiday Season.
Comment by Shari C — December 15, 2006 @ 8:56 am
Great prize. Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
Comment by Crystal B. — December 15, 2006 @ 9:03 am
As a transplanted Californian subjected to Ohio winters now (due to the love of my life) I soooo miss Ghiradelli’s and See’s chocolates - and need them more than ever come February and the snow drifts are threatening to send me over the proverbial edge……..
Comment by Nina — December 15, 2006 @ 9:04 am
ps Carly - Love the covers of your books - the art department did a great job!
Comment by Nina — December 15, 2006 @ 9:05 am
Great prize. Who can NOT like chocolate?? Okay this is going to sound funny but this would actually help my diet. LOL!! Seriously, I eat chocolate while I am dieting and my family members think I am nuts, but if you do it in moderation it works. I diet all day then have something chocolate at night and I have lost over 22 pounds without exercising. 8)

Comment by Carolyn A. — December 15, 2006 @ 9:40 am
Well, since it is Christmas, and after yesterday’s post I know that there would be no calories in them, I would love to win the box of chocolates. I still don’t understand why it doesn’t have it’s own spot on the food pyramid.

ONLY 9 DAYS LEFT TIL CHRISTMAS!!! ARRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!! I NEED CLEANING FAIRIES!!!!

Comment by ev — December 15, 2006 @ 9:43 am
See’s candies are some of the best out there!!! I live in Southern California, and See’s stores are everywhere — it’s soooo tempting!!! Good luck, everyone!
Comment by Janelle — December 15, 2006 @ 9:43 am
I first had See’s candy when I lived in Las Vegas and I love it. Now that I live in Ohio I don’t get it too often, but every Christmas my mother-in-law orders a ton of it to share with us over the holidays.

Julie, I wrote a little poem for you (I love chocolate, btw, being a West Coaster we take See’s for granted)….I didn’t say my poem was good, so don’t send me back to 1st grade English class:
J-for the JOY that you bring us
U-for the uncommon attitude
L-for the LOVE of chocolate
I-for the INCREDIBLE books you write
E-for EVERYTHING that you do!
Have a HAPPY Friday, everyone. Leslie, I am reading your Mark Santori book. WHEW! I actually needed to slide under the covers for that one (it was HOT!). I am only halfway through….you mentioned in the beginning that there were other Santori books…are there besides the ones you mentioned?

See’s used to be only in California but they have branched out some to maybe Oregon & Washington. Down here kids sell the candy bars for fund raising, yummy! I can’t remember seeing advertising for them, they don’t need to!! Earlier today I walked right by a See’s store & thought about going in but didn’t. When you go in their stores even if you buy only one truffle, or one of anything they give you a free sample of candy, whatever they are passing out that day!! See’s is really yummy stuff, take it from a person who has eaten lots of it!!

Have a great weekend everyone. Ev, if the Cleaning Fairies come to visit you please tell them to come see me!!
Comment by Donna M — December 15, 2006 @ 5:35 pm
