As you all probably know, I’m a theater nut. I’m involved in another production right now, THE WOMEN, which is an old show starring a bunch of catty women zinging each other with one-liners. I have some of the zingiest, so that’s lots of fun!
My youngest daughter is in the show with me, and several of my good friends are also doing it, so it’s been a great experience. We’re in Tech Week right now, which means loooooong rehearsals while light and sound cues are set and scene changes are worked out. Plus of course we’re adding costumes, then hair and makeup. I am lucky enough to be playing a very “modern” woman–a world-traveling, successful, snarky writer–SNORT! (Daughter says I was typecast. However, my heroine is a “virgin”…actually, she’s a lesbian but she can’t very well say that to a bunch of high-society 1936 rich witches.)
I haven’t got any pictures right now, but will definitely bring my camera to the final dress and try to get some shots. In one scene I’m in a sailor suit, in another a very mannish traveling suit complete with Fedora and tie! (That’s the day my character is leaving for Africa to go big game hunting!)
Wish me…to break a leg.Â
