Leslie’s Jungle Madness Friday

Posted by at Dec 14, 2012 6:00 am

It’s Friday…more importantly, it’s opening day for The Hobbit! As of the time this post goes live, I will almost certainly still be asleep as I’ve had tickets for the midnight opening of this movie since the day they went on sale.

I’ll check in and tell you how it was. In the meantime, leave a comment about your favorite LOTR moment. I’ll pick a random winner on Sunday who will get a $20.00 Amazon or BN gift card.

This is my favorite scene from LOTR:

Witch King: [You fool. No man can kill me. Die now.
Eowyn rises and pulls off her helm, her hair falls down over her shoulder]
    Eowyn: I am no man.

    Hands down, my favorite!

Since we celebrate Hanukkah all is done except sending my mom her gift. I also have everything ready to send out my holiday cards but they are sitting in the living room untouched until I print out labels after updating addresses. Looking forward to a weekend of relaxing, baking & recharging for this teacher to make it through one (too many) more week before a shortened winter break. UGH! :Han1:

Unfortunately I’m not a fan. I’ve always made it a habit of finishing every book I start and I like to never got The Hobbit finished. Took me about 6 months, just not my cup of tea.

I cannot wait to hear what you think, Leslie! :D
Hmmm favorite LOTR moment? Hard to just pick one… And confession I haven’t seen the films in some time.
Perhaps when they’re defending the “fort”? I love the heroism and bravery of Aragon, Gimli, and Legolas. And the nice touch of humor with the Orc quota between our dwarf and elf.

You are going to laugh, my favorite LOTR moment is that one of my babysitters was so sweet and is going to it tomorrow night instead of tonight, so that I can go out. He really wants to go see it and is going out to see it tomorrow. I really need a happy hour (LOL…I don’t drink, so that’s what’s funny). Happy Holidays, Everyone!!!

This is a day that makes me appreciate friends and family soooo much and I rushed home just to cuddle w/ my puppy.

I guess on days like this, what I appreciate the most about the LOTR saga was the black and white of who’s good and who’s bad. The villains are monstrous and easy to identify and evil. But most importantly, good triumphed. It takes a lot to bring that belief to bear in real life.
