So luckily for me, my daughter is wearing the same costume this year that she wore last year. She “cosplays” Chell, the main character from the video game, Portal 2. She has all the stuff and this year, the “gun” too because I’m the best mom in the world and I bought it for her.
But what costumes are big this year? Who can I expect to come visiting my door?
What was your favorite costume? Mine was an Aztec princess. It was actually a dance costume of mine that was repurposed when I was in the 8th grade. I also have a special love for my cowgirl outfit that I had when I was three that matched my brother’s cowboy outfit (he was nine.)

I’m thinking vampire and zombies are pretty popular right now. Pretty sure you’ll also see lots of Disney characters and a few girls dressed as Katniss from Hunger Games too. My youngest niece is going as a cat(age8) and is already thinking about what she’ll be next year.
I guess my two favorite costumes were being a baseball player and Pippi Longstocking.
Mine will be Pinocchio & Brobee from Yo Gabba Gabba this year.
My favorite that my mom made for me is Smurfette.
Zombies, vampires and avengers characters. If yesterday’s local celebration is any indication, there’ll be a lot of video game characters and “adventure time” characters as well.
My favorite was when I was a gypsy! I was 9 and got to wear huge clip on earrings! I thought I was so cool!
My kids are too old to go out anymore but for them I have made every Disney princess (except my favorite Belle!), cheerleaders, and even Hermoine from Harry Potter! I miss the craziness of getting 3 costumes done before Halloween, while working full-time.
We have mostly boys in our development and they usually dress up as some type of zombie, ninja or spook.
They are showing temps in the 40′s for Halloween here so I’m guessing most kids will be wearing coats!
It has been so long since I was young enough to Trick or Treat I don’t remember any of the costumes. People didn’t go all out then like they do now. Cowboys & Indians were popular for the boys & for the girls witches, gypsies. Since back in those days no one worried about being “politically correct” we actually had Halloween celebrations at school. It was the “good old days”!!!
My favorite Halloween costume, not mine, was the daughter of a friend came to a party, for adults, as a pregnant nun with a sign on her habit that said “The Devil made me do it!” She was a big hit!!
:domainatrix: :dart: :hallpir: :mickey:
I forgot to post that my favorite costume was a princess costume that my mom made for me. I remember picking out the fabric with my mom and then “designing” it with her. I’m not sure she liked it, but I loved it!
My son will be Obi-Wan from the animated series. :dart: My personal favorite for me is a sexy ringmaster and that I had the guts to wear it and still looked pretty good.
one of my favorite costumes when i was a kid was an angel. i even had a halo above my head and wings.
My favorite was a hobo, because I got to wear my Dad’s clothes and put soot all over my face. I thought I was really living! Ahhhhh. Total freedom.
My favorite ones were: Cowgirl and later on a Gitana , great memories
My niece is going to be Zorro-ever since we watched the movie ( Antonio Banderas version) she wants to be Zorro!!
