I can’t remember the last book I read. Well, I can, but I didn’t actually finish it. That’s happened to me a lot lately and I don’t blame the books. It’s me. I’m having trouble finishing anything I start. It’s fairly annoying, but it happens and sooner rather than later, I’ll hit my stride again.
What about you? What’s on your reading list this week?

Just opened Nightwatcher by Wendy Corsi Staub. I won this copy and it really sounds good.
I just started The Third Dragon by Dawn Ross. Happy Saturday Everyone!
:rainman: I’m staying in… it’s raining lobsters and crabs out there! Working some, but hoping to get some reading in… Nina Pierce, Blind Her With Bliss and Bob Mayer, The Rock. And sitting in my non-kitchen and visualizing the new kitchen which should be installed by Thanksgiving… if not, the turkey goes in the crockpot again this year.
Just finished up BACKLASH by Karyn Good. It’s a well-written romantic suspense and I enjoyed it. Just started ROSEMARY AND RUE by Seanen McGuire. This is book one in her October Daye urban fantasy series about the Fae. It’s dark, gritty, an I’ve enjoyed the first 100 pages!
:rainman: Rainy here today and I’m wishing I could read but I’ve got chores and then work to do, even though this little perfectly describes my writing process lately. :writeblock:
I am reading Playing To Win by Jaci Burton. I love her sexy Alpha male athletes! Very good characters and sexy stories!
Have a great weekend!
I just finished a mystery Brownies and Brooksticks. I really enjoyed it.
I was able to download 2 books from library for my kindle. Just finished Hero by Cheryl Brooks.
Finishing up Close Enough to Touch by Victoria Dahl. Not sure what’s next from the tbr pile.
just finished run the risk-Lori Foster
I am either going to read Shannon Stacey’s: All He Every Wanted or
Shannon Mckenna’s: Ultimate Weapon
I have read quite a few of Shannon Mckenna’s books lately and it makes it hard to switch over to some of my other authors that I normally enjoy.
He books are more of a romantic suspense but her bad guys are BAD.
Currently reading Eloisa James’ “The Ugly Duchess” and next I’m got Emily Giffin’s “Where we Belong” followed by “Mad Women” by Jane Maas and then “The Darlings” by Cristina Alger. Many more to follow after that. I love to read! Can you tell? ;-)
I finished Beyond Shame by Kit Rocha and Lean on Me by HelenKay Dimon this week and loved them both.
So it’s a footbal Saturday.. with my hometeam away but on tv… I was reading a book on my kindle…of course I just do the slider thingie and don’t go back to the title listing.. somehow I managed to detete the thing… hanging head in shame… can’t remember title… was about 3/4ths through it… does anyone know a way to retreive from the ‘archived’ section?
Cates, pull up your book shelf–All Items. There should be two buttons somewhere. (I’m looking at my Kindle app not my Kindle Fire). On the app, the buttons are at the bottom. One says CLOUD the other says DEVICE. The book will be one place or the other. If it’s *in* the cloud, simply tap it and it will download again to your device. If it’s already on the device, tap the book and it will open. Hope this helps!
Currently reading Cathie Linz’s Tender Guardian. After that waiting for Sylvia Day’s Reflected In You which will be on my Nook on Oct 2nd!
A Dangerous Stage by Camy Tang about a female bodyguard is who comes from a Japanese mafia family but is trying to stay above the law
Julie…You’re reading the WRONG books :boxer:
I just finished Jennifer Ashley’s MATE CLAIMED :inlove: all her books and she hit this one out of the park :threecheers
I just started Donna Grant’s DAWN’S AWAKENING and can’t wait to see how she resolves the mystery of who know about the Dreagans at PureGems
Then I’m off to read about HOW TO CAPTURE A COUNTESS from Karen Hawkins
Julie, if I hit a slump in reading I usually do a reread by a favorite author. That will usually get me back on track. Sometimes I read a series that I loved. Hopefully you will be over your slump soon.
Recently I felt a need to reread one of Jill Shalvis’ earlier books. I just finished White Heat by Jill, it was very good all over again. It was almost like reading it the first time because I remembered very little. Now I am reading one of Charles Kuralt’s “road” books. As I’ve mentioned before I like variety in my reading.
Enjoy the weekend. :flag: :flag: :flag: :flag:
Finished reading Shades of Temptation by Virna DePaul. Writing was really good but was hard to read in regards to the subject matter which has a couple of serial killers. Several OMG moments. After that i wanted lighthearted or fun so i read HelenKay Dimon Lean on Me. Excellent. Loved this to death. A must read. You’ll laugh out loud guarenteed! lol It doesn’t come out til Oct. 22nd but look for it.
Lisa B
Just started The Other Guy’s Bride by Connie Brockway.
I have so many books on my TBR pile, I don’t even know where to start…but I’m starting with the new Jayne Castle!
I just finished How to Capture a Countess and have started A Fools Gold Christmas by Susan Mallery.
Can somebody please send their rain to So Cal. :rainman: We’re supposed to hit 107 degrees this week. :onfire:
I’m the only one reading the new JD Robb????? LOL Hoping I can actually find some time between laundry and housework to read tomorrow!
I’ve already read it. :D I finished it the day after it came out.
This weeks reads included Never Seduce A Scot by Myra Banks. What a great book, I couldn’t put it down. Half way through A Fool’s Gold Christmas by Susan Mallery. It seems weird to read a Christmad story while weather around here is near the 90s. :cooldance:
I loved Maya’s book too. Can’t wait for the next one
I’m reading Stompin’ on Stetsons by D. D. Scott.
I am reading A Cold Creek Reunion by RayAnne Thayne
Right now I am reading “That Thing Called Love” by Susan Andersen.
I get in those reading slumps too…where nothing sounds good and where I cannot seem to finish anything. Fortunately, I eventually work my way out of them.
I’m currently reading a galley of Love Comes Silently by Andrew Grey. I’m not that far into it, but so far I’ve already cried twice. I’ve got a pretty long list of books to read. Seriously need to get on it.
I have a very large stack & if I don’t love something or connect with the characters, I move on. It rarely happens, though. I am finishing up with Eloisa James’ Desperate Duchess series. The last book is “A Duke of Her Own”. The series has been great!
Hi Julie,
So glad to hear I am not the only that this has been happening too. Here is to picking up our reading stride again soon!
Just finished Return to Willow Lake by Susan Wiggs. :inlove:
I’m reading Lily of the Springs by Carole Bellacera
