Carly’s This and That

Posted by at Aug 30, 2012 6:00 am

I have no one big topic (so what else is new) … so here are my random thoughts in no particular order:

1. I got a CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH after an echo-cardiogram stress test – and a big scare. Lesson? Going on treadmill 5-6 days a week for 30 in a day. I thought I didn’t have time. I learned how to make it. Thanks to everyone for their good wishes and prayers for me (and the ongoing ones for my dad – I’m learning to believe more and more in the power of prayer in all faith and forms!)

2. I’m still planning on doing my big FB Kindle giveaway when I hit 10,000 LIKES at Carly Phillips Fan Page and I’m at 9,600 … getting there! Don’t forget to Share the Carly Love … er .. I mean the Carly PAGE!

3. Support Breast Cancer Awareness! Pick up a copy of SERENDIPITY – Read Pink! available September 25th! I’ll get details about the proceeds and % going to Breast Cancer Awareness for you asap! All booksellers have links!

4. I’m a slob – my office looks like a bomb hit it – that’s how I roll – the desk builds up and builds up until it looks like it’ll explode and that’s when I go in with heavy artillery and gas mask and clean. Janelle suggested I post a before and after, but I haven’t gotten around to the … after. The time is near, trust me!

5. My dogs – are crazy as always – but crazier is this website – Dog-Shaming – and I can honestly say I have never laughed so hard as I have going through these pages!Look at Brady waiting for the perfect moment to snatch Bailey’s toy – and not get his face snapped off. LOL. But that’s nothing. Visit Dog Shaming! I can’t give away Brady and Bailey’s secret shame but I had a Maltese named Spike who ate stinky baby diapers – and I waited for the pampers to swell and explode in his stomach.

6. Steve Burton (Jason) is leaving General Hospital and Ian Buchanan (Duke Lavery who we thought was dead) has returned. If you watch GH and you know me, you know exactly how I feel about each of these events. If you don’t? It’s probably irrelevant to you, LOL.

7. For fun (not prizes) visit our Plotmonkeys Facebook Page and answer the question posed. Oh but not before you comment here!

Happy Thursday. Ask me whatever you want about my various topics. I’m around to answer, a rarity in and of itself!

Carly, when will the “read pink” copy of Serendipity be out? I’m happy to buy a copy for my keeper shelf. So glad test came back fine and you and your dad are doing well. I totally believe in the power of prayer!

Saw the post about Jason leaving GH on twitter and immediately thought of you. Know how much you love and will miss his character.

Oh my goodness, Ian Buchanan is STILL ALIVE!! That’s just crazy talk. So happy to hear you got a clean bill of health, but shooting for 5-6 for 30 is awesome. I need to get back into exercising again. It go disrupted this summer, believe it or not. I got too busy, but I need to find the balance. Love you, Carly!!

I hope everyone is having a fabulous week. I am now 1 year and a day wiser:).

    Peace and love,
    Paula R.

Happy to hear you got a clean bill of health! That is wonderful I hope everything continues to get better for your dad. Very sad to hear that the actor playing Jason is leaving GH, again. I love Jason and will hope he comes back soon! Can’t wait for the “pink” issue of Serendipity to be released. Oh and your furry kids are adorable! :dog: I have so many questions to ask, not sure which one to pick… How did you become a professional writer?
I wish everyone a wonderful Thursday!

:threecheers I am glad you have a clean bill of health! Nothing is worse than the unknown when it comes to health. Keep up the treadmill! My hubby and I joined the YMCA that just opened up by our house and have been going at least 3 days a week. I’m up to walking 3 1/2 miles in about 55 minutes and it feels good.

I love your office! It has character and it shows you are not perfect! Nothing worse than people whose houses are always perfect! Your office is like my kitchen island! I always have good intentions of keeping it cleaned off, but it always ends up with crap all over it!

Have a great holiday weekend. We are working at the Cleveland Air Show on Saturday…..hopefully the rain from Isaac will hold off until after we are done! :flag:

I see nothing wrong with your office. It looks alot like my desk at work. I am sticking by the old adage the A Clean Desk Is a Sign of an Empty Mind. Yep, that’s my story and I’m sticking with it.

So happy you are doing better. I know that’s how I felt after my Spring. Then, I had so much to catch up on (still do). Your dogs are always cute! So glad things are better…I have been concerned!

:applause: I am so happy to hear that you have a clean bill of health. Keep up the exercise routine whatever you are doing. Good wishes to you & your Dad for continued good health.

What a great idea a “pink” book to read.

Love the picture of your dogs! My table where the computer is looks a lot like your desk! Janelle inspired me to clean it off but it still needs to be done!!!

I can’t think of a question!! Got one!! What is your favorite season, why?

    Have a great day. :monkey:

Thanks for the post! Had me smiling when I scrolled to the pic of your office. I think I have it’s twin @ my house & I’m not a writer. So I’m not sure what my excuse is. Love it when you put something on the desk & it falls to the floor. LOL Do you think when you’re done with your artillery you could send it my way? Cuz I usually wait until I get so pissed at the mess, that I attack it & put it away where it should go.

So glad yo got a clean Bill of Health…. Don’t worry about the office, because you right such terrific books.. Don’t jinx yourself by cleaning the office..
AND OMG Steve Burton is leaving GH… He is my fav male on that show… Other than Luke, I think he is one of the longest Male cast memebers on the show… And bring back Jerry was bad enough and now we get Duke back.. I think I may be turning off GH… NO wait what am I thinking I have been wathing this show for over 40yrs… And it is the only good SOAP left on TV…
And I hope that Christina gets what she deserves, the spoiled littel “B_tch…

    1. Glad that you have a clean BOH and are making time since heart disease is a biggie for women. Will say another prayer for your Dad (aren’t we lucky to have a parent that is still here?) and prayer can do amazing things for our spirits!
    2. Already a fan so can’t help there :(
    3. Will be watching for the Read Pink. Will it only be on paper or digital too?
    4. I don’t know why you think you are a slob. This looks perfectly normal to me. A clean work area is a sign of a sick (uncreative, bored, etc.) mind.
    5. And I thought my dog was nuts. I’ve been harvesting fruit and she has eaten whole plums, apples, blackberries (she actually stuck her head in my bucket while we were walking back and gobbled down a bunch of the blackberries I had just picked!) and don’t leave a cup of coffee where she can reach it. She’s a java junkie!
    6. Although I tell my DH that all I do during the day is eat bon-bons and watch soaps, the truth is I am more likely going to be curled up with a book from one of my favorite authors (love them plot monkeys!)
    7. Off to answer the question on the P. M. FB page. Thanks for sharing. Really enjoyed this post.

Just wanted to let you know I’m glad for your good news from the doctor. Your office made me smile. My husband doesn’t get rid of paperwork and when he needs something, it is an incredible task to find a piece of paper in a mountain of others. I love your puppies, but I’m more a cat person.
