In the picturesque town of Serendipity, New York, three siblings have grown up in the shadow of their proud and respected police chief father. But what do love, fate, and fortune have in store for the next generation of Serendipity’s finest?

Always feeling like the odd man out in his family, Michael Marsden wanted to make it on his own. So he escaped Serendipity to become an undercover cop in Manhattan, where the Marsden name wasn’t known. But Michael’s independence is compromised when he returns home to replace his sick father as chief of police. Back in the shadow of his family, he’s as lost and restless as ever, until he’s challenged by someone he never anticipated.

Cara Hartley is the Serendipity cop with whom Mike had a one night stand three months earlier. Neither expected anything more but fate has other things in store. When Mike returns as Cara’s boss, the sexual tension between them is impossible to ignore – and the unexpected emotional connection continues to grow. But Cara’s a small town girl while Mike has a wanderer’s blood in his veins.

Both are convinced a future together is impossible. Until Mike’s real father’s secrets come back to haunt him and he realizes there are some things worth staying and fighting for. Including Cara.

So … what do you think of the cover? Are you happy I’m staying in SERENDIPITY for the foreseeable future? I like it and I’m happy that you’re staying in Serendipty! I’m sure there are lots of interesting new characters living there that we now get to read about. Can’t wait to read about them.

I love the new cover and am over the moon you are staying in Serendipity. :D Can’t wait to read about new characters in Serendipity.

While I’m glad the 50 Shades books are helping the erotic romance genre, contemporary romances have always been my first love. I read books from all romance genres, but still love the reality of the contemporary genre.

Yes, I am def. happy you are keeping the Serendipity series going. You write the type of books I love. Dont care for historicals, Grey type books, vampire, paranormal, etc.

I don’t like going back into the past and dont see enuf contemps being touted as far as I am concerned. I like the here and now and not fantasy. So thank you for your books.

Well first I tried to help me, help you. Alas, I have already “liked” your page for a while.

I love all of your contemp. romances. I can stay there. I have to admit. I finally put my name on the waitlist for the fifty book from the Library. Last I checked I was number 1072 on the list. So it is still very popular.

I love contemporary romances. I think there’s a lot you can do with the people of it and I enjoy reading book series that “build” on one another.

I love the Serendipity series. I like when there is a strong base of characters you learn to care about and then it leaves you wanting to know more.

As for this cover….YUM YUM YUM! Tall, dark and handsome is my favorite type! :hothot:

I love any type of romance stories, although contemporary is my favorite. Don’t change the way you write….that is what I love most about your stories!

i think it won’t be long before the whole 50 Shades thing is killed by over exposure. I didn’t read the books but i can tell you i am tired of hearing the books with the words ——Shades in it. Or just like 50 Shades. etc. It’s a big turn off for me at this point. I think many of the people buying those books are new people to romance reading. From some of the people i have talked to have read 50 Shades. It was their first foray into reading anything like that and it was curiosity sake because everyone was going on and on about it. Some i don’t think really even got the whole gist of the books. So yeah i like what your doing so keep doing it lol :bananaangel:

I agree that the “Fifty Shades” thing is over (and I have read them). I think that once there is talk of a ‘tour’ in PDX and Seattle, the moment has passed. My mom has read most of the books. She does not like romance (and doesn’t like them), but read them because they have been over exposed. I think they need to make the movie ASAP otherwise, the moment will be over.

Love the cover. Great Giveaway idea. Thanks Carly. I’m tired of hearing about the 50 Shades books. I do hope they will encourage all the readers to try other romance books that have so much to offer in good reading. Since many categories of “romance” books have been out there for a long time I don’t understand why these books are getting all the buzz & publicity. :?

    I’ll “like” you Facebook. 8)

Since Contemps is my fave genre, I’m very glad “Serendipity” is continuing One thing I don’t enjoy are stories telling of “many quirky townspeople”, which I think have become the norm (it’s so hard to remember who goes with whom, & takes away from the romance) One recent Contemps I’ve enjoyed is Virginia Kantra’s lst Dare Island novel, CAROLINA HOME This was a more serious book (in subject matter), but, well-written & with involving H/h characters.

I’m still involved w/Carr’s “Virgin River” series, even after all these books. It’s because some of the original characters remain as a part of each new release.

The cover is ok but not my favorite. My thoughts were as follows:
    1. There is something a little “off” about his face/head. I can’t put my thumb on it.
    2. When I did put my thumb on his face, it improved the cover. The body is great but I don’t love way he is holding sunglasses.
    3. I think is would be improved if it looked like he was walking away from the camera with the glasses hanging down.
    4. I think the color is nice but just a little too saturated.
Gee, why don’t I tell you what I really think. That being said, it’s a nice cover that would catch my attention in the store. I happen to love Serendipity so I am really glad to get more stories.

I agree with Jen B, I like the cover, but there is something off with the look of the guy. He also doesn’t look like the image I have of Mike in my head. I can’t wait to read this story.

    Pam S/pams00 says:

I really like the cover Carly! Love your books :) . I have to confess haven’t read 50 shades yet. I did like Bared to You by Sylvia Day and can’t wait to read If I Were You by Lisa Renee Jones. I do have to say Ellora’s Cave and other pubs have done books similar to plot of 50 Shades way before it came out.

Not sure what I like in contemporary other than like all romance in general I read, variety. I do like friend’s older brother/brother’s older friend, second chance, and bad boys.
