If you’ve been on my Facebook page this past week, I’ve done a lot of complaining about the weather. Â I live in the Portland, Oregon area, and I absolutely love it here — rain and all. Â Mostly BECAUSE of the rain. Â Seriously. Â While some people have to have sun, I’m a rain girl. Â It could rain for months and I’d be happy.
The summers here in Oregon aren’t really so bad — not compared to where I used to live in Southern California, where every summer day was in the 100′s. Â That heat was killer. Â For the most part, there is really only one month a year that is really bad for us, heat wise, and that’s August. Â And it’s especially horrible because we don’t have an air conditioner in the house we’re living in. Â We don’t really need one . . . expect for those few weeks in August that make us feel as though we’re broiling.
Just like every other year, the past two weeks have been in the 90′s, and some days even reaching the 100′s. Â I was DYING. Â On the really hot days I pack up my laptop and spend from breakfast until after dinner at Panera, borrowing their wi-fi and air conditioning and getting lots of writing done while enjoying three great meals a day, LOL.
This week, it’s dropped into the 70′s, which a clear sign that our August heat wave is over and Fall is just around the corner. Â YAHOO!!! Â I cannot wait. Â Fall is my favorite time of year here in Oregon, followed closely by Spring.
So, how has your summer been? Â Cooler than normal? Â Hotter than usual? Â And what’s YOUR favorite time of the year — Summer, Fall, Winter, or Spring?
