I admit it…I haven’t watched any of the Olympics. I’ve had a bunch of stuff going and frankly, when all the winners are announced on Facebook or Twitter, I have no interest. I’m not dissing NBC for the time delay…that’s always the case when the games are in another time zone. Just saying…I’m not feeling it.
Of course, I’m not a big sports fan. I want to like them…I want to be interested, but I can’t get myself enthused. The year we lived in Atlanta was the year the Olympics were there. We actually left and went to Vegas. I will confess, I cried when Muhammad Ali came out and lit the cauldron.
So…are you watching? What has been your favorite moment so far? Or are you, like me, less than interested?

I’m watching even though I know the results ahead of time. Last night the Women’s Gymnastics were awesome. I knew they had the gold, but watching the performances that got them there was too cool. I just wish I could’ve stayed awake to watch the floor exercises. I totally get being too busy to watch, though. In fact, I should’ve been writing last night, but… Yeah, I was a naughty writer. Those girls were just too damn cute and talented to miss.
I watched the opening ceremony with a book in hand. What a snore. That’s it for me.
Usually watch, but for some reason. I just can’t get into it this year. I have watched the highlights tho.
I haven’t really been watching either. It is very hard for me to watch once I know how won. I am also much more a Winter Olympics girl than Summer.
:flag: I love the Olympics, I even painted my toenails red and blue, (my pale white toes account for the third color.) I have my favorite sports to watch, but always try to watch a different event each year.
LOL!!!
For everyone out there who think that the Olympics are just about sports, well, you’re WRONG! All you have to do is see the look on these young athletes faces to know it’s about the spirit of the games and pride in their country. They’re out there giving 110% for their country so the least we can do is support them. We need a little more pride in our country, especially now when things are rough for a lot of people. So I say “GO TEAM USA”. :flag: :flag: :flag:
I usually watch all of them that I can but this time I’m mostly just getting the results online. I’m really not feeling them either this time. The swimming part is usually my favorite. So glad for Michael Phelps, he seems like a decent person.
:flag: I am watching every night! I am not into sports and I know the results but I love watching and knowing that each person is getting their all. While most of them is so young, I love seeing both the young and the more ‘mature’ person who are dedicated to their sport. Go Team USA! :flag:
I love the Olympics and watch as much as I can. It does upset me though that some of the results get out before it’s on. I never like “spoilers” lol.
I did watch part of the opening ceremony and then I went to sleep, as here it was middle of the night! Otherwise, I hardly ever watch the Olympics. If I do (when there isn’t anything better on tv) I always find myself wondering what kind of doping the athletes are using and will they get caught. Just call me cynical…
I have been watching some of the Olympics. The Gymnastics and the Swimming are my two favorites. I love watching Michael Phelps swim, he is an awesome athlete!
If I’m at home, I’m watching. :D I’m a huge fan of the Olympics. Watching our girls win gold last night might be my favorite thing so far. I’m loving all the swimming and diving too. Ready for track & field to start up.
I have the TV on in the evenings and keep an eye on the events while reading. I loved watching gymnastics especially watching them win last night. :winner: I liked the swimming and synchronized diving but I can only watch for so long.
I am not watching because I already know the results.
I love watching. I was disappointed with the opening ceremony. I watch everything, I even watch table tennis, I couldn’t keep a straight face though.. I think watching is great for my kids, my daughter has decided she wants to play soccer ever since she watch the womens team dominate.
I haven’t watched much during Prime Time because I already know what happens. Over the weekend I watched because it was all Live.
I do get tired of the ‘popular’ sports – gymnastics and swimming. I think the lesser known sports should get attention. Like archery and fencing.
Yes, I’m watching! :applause: Unlike some I enjoyed the opening ceremony, at least most of it. I got so excited last night seeing the USA Gymnastics Fab 5 perform & win the gold! :flag: The male & female American swimmers are doing us proud. :flag: I’m not sure Michael Phelps is the greatest athlete but he has won the most Olympic medals & his swimming is fantastic but so is Ryan Lochte. I’ve manage not to see any results since I do enjoy watching. I don’t like the way NBC schedules the events & I hate all the online posts that tell who won. That is so unfair to those that have yet to see. I think I liked it when we were less connected. One of the TV stations in my area posts the days medal winners but only on screen, they play music while that is on so that when the music ends you know you can look again. That is the way it should be done. Besides not liking the way NBC televises the Olympics I do not like Bob Costas!! :yuk:
Okay, I’ll stop with that!!
I have been keeping up by alerts on MSN or Yahoo. I have been way to busy to watch. I did see a little swimming on Saturday while I was at a sports bar having lunch. I prefer winter sports to summer.
I have been watching the Olympics. I have been enjoying them with my middle son. I have been watching the swimming and gymnastics. It’s nice because the sports I like to watch are on mostly this week (so, I’ll have next week with nothing…LOL).
My husband who doesn’t watch the Olympics, gets all grumpy about the Olympics. I think NBC is doing a great job. You can watch them on all of their various networks, streaming or on the regular channel. They’ll tell you on FB what will be on streaming (live) or whatever. It’s just like March madness, you can watch the sports live. They are showing ALL of the sports somewhere! I only watch the primetime shows (I DVR them and watch them the next day), only because there’s only so much I can watch. I think it’s great that they are showing all of the sports.
I realize that as a mom of a Special Olympian, I am so much like the Moms of the ‘elite’ athletes. We all have the common denominator of either a)not being able to watch our kids (WAY too stressful) or b)stressing out as we watch them. I can’t watch my dude. I watch with one partial eye open. It’s so stressful! I have such empathy and understanding for those moms.
We are a Lochte nation in our house. We love him and we love Missy Franklin…she has a great head on her shoulders and her folks seem so down to earth. Look for great things to come from her!
I only watch the gymnastics. It just amazes me how they can do the jumps and flips that they do! I much prefer the winter olympics.
So far this summer I’ve avoided it.
Not interested, no. I usually cheer when I do see it on the news but that’s about it for me.

I love the Olympics. I love to watch gymnastics, swimming, and volleyball. I used to love the fastpitch softball but they took that away.
:flag: :flag: :flag: :flag: :flag: :flag: :flag: :flag: :flag: :flag: :flag: :flag:
I haven’t had time to watch them, although I did see the opening ceremonies which I really enjoyed. I can catch things online if I really want to I suppose.
One of the guys who works in our London office was one of the Dickenesque characters in the festivities!
Haven’t had the time to watch.
I am not a tv or a sport watcher (unless the Green Bay Packers are playing) but I DO watch the olympics. I watch swimming and gymnastics. The best of the best…wow!
I do NOT look at spoilers…I don’t want to know who wins till I see it for myself!

:flag: Watching some but definitely swimming as there is Ks connection
I watched the opening ceremonies (when I don’t I always hear how great it was).
This one had: James Bond + The Queen; Mr.Bean (Rowan Atkins).
I catch some of the events – much more interesting when they do a personal story about the athletes.
:flag: :flag: :flag:
It seems maybe I’m the only Canadian on here…but either way USA isn’t doing so bad for themselves…so way to go as well…But yes I watch it when the TV isn’t being taken over by the children…when the hubby comes home is the only time I get to watch but by then I’ve already heard about who won the metals….
So All the best to all who are giving it their all out there in LONDON.
I have been watching and I admit I cheat. I check the NBC Olympic website first. If the USA wins, I’ll watch. Other events that are live (and there isn’t too many of those), I will watch live. How do you feel about the throwing the games in the Badminton saga? I mean, really! And I wonder why it’s in the Olympics in the first place. :flag: :flag:
I have watched most of it and love it I am proud of our athletes I have no watched boxing or basketball but I have the swimming and gymnastics my favorite is volley ball
I’m not watching any of the games – mainly because the time difference literally means that its the middle of the night when the action is happening. I’m definitely watching the updates about how the NZ athletes are faring though.
Hi Julie–I’m not a sports fan in general, but I enjoy watching the Olympics…especially the Summer games. My favorites are swimming/diving, gymnastics, volleyball, and sometimes the equestrian events. If I’m in the mood, I’ll watch track and field and some other events.
I love watching the Olympics. My favorites are swimming and gymnastics. Have it on every night and look forward to seeing how well Team USA does in their events. :flag:
I’ve watched very little ( trying to boycott NBC for canceling Harry’s Law ;) ) My kids have been watching all the USA basketball.
I’m like you….less than interested.
