Since I last had this post, I’ve read quite a few books! I hope you’ll check out at least two of them as they are on the shelves now!
One is FOR DARKNESS SHOWS THE STARS by Diana Peterfreund. I read this last month and I loved it. It’s sitting beside me because I’m sharing the book with a friend of mine’s daughter. It’s a YA book, but I think if you don’t usually read YA books, this is a great one to start with. It’s a post-Apocalyptic retelling of Jane Austen’s PERSUASION and it’s brilliant. And you don’t need to have read PERSUASION. I read it in college, but I don’t remember anything about it. (I’m not entirely sure I actually read it…might have been one of those situations where I was supposed to read it and never got around to it, LOL!)
Day before yesterday, I finished BLAZING MIDSUMMER NIGHTS by our own Leslie Kelly. It’s a Blaze, super-hot and brilliant. I wish I could adequately express how the sheer fabulousness of Leslie’s writing swept me away…it really did. The characters are so much fun and the hero…well, Xander McKinley has risen to the top three of my heroes that Leslie has written. He’s just so…dreamy. Smart, hard-working, quick-witted. It was love at first sight between us. And her heroine, Mimi, is really complex and likable. GREAT BOOK!
Week before last, I read THREE WEDDINGS AND A MURDER. Or a least, I read two of the four novellas in the collection. As you all know, I’m a historical romance junkie and the stories by Tessa Dare and Courtney Milan are amazing. A portion of the sales of this book go toward breast cancer research, so you can feel very good about buying.
So…what are you reading?
BTW, I have to say THANK YOU to everyone who has posted or who will post about the Plotmonkey books that they’ve read recently. You have no idea how much it means to each of us that you read our books. We know that books are expensive and a luxury and we are honored and humbled that you trust us to entertain you with our stories. Thank you!!!

Well, I’m presently on Vortex by Cherry Adair…
Lois
Just starting Lucky Harbor series- read Simply Irresistible and starting Sweetest Thing today.
You are gonna love this series. You should try her Animal Magnetism series too.
I’m reading Simply Irresistible, too. LOVING it!
I’m still in the midst of Donna Grant’s Dark Sword series trying to get caught up for her mega releases of Dark Warriors & Kings this summer. I’m loving it so far and wow~ :hothot: My mother’s in the hospital and I was going to read what I’m reading to her but this is NOT it, lol
I am reading Summer Lovin by Carly Phillips (it is my weekend book when I can go to the beach). I also just started Bringing Down Sam by Leslie Kelly. Oh and I love Courtney Milan, Tessa Dare and historical romances too. Lisa Kleypas is my all time favorite. Dreaming of You is one of my favorites!! Have a great weekend everybody!
Can you believe I’ve never read a Lisa Kleypas book? I have no idea why…will have to remedy that!
Jules, it took me a while to actually read them. I had the first two for a whole year and a half maybe, before I decided to read them. I had to be in the right mood and the right place in my head. That’s where i’m at in my head with the Fifty Shades books. After the first 150/160 pages of the first book, it’s smooth sailing from there. Try them again when you get the chance. I am watching the Swedish versions of the movies now. They are not as disturbing as the book IMHO! Now I want to see the American version too.
Peace and love,
Paula R.
Thanks Tanya!
Oh you must try Lisa and your welcome Leslie. Love it so far:)
Hey Jules, I read Les’ book too, loved it as well.
Finished up The Girl WHo Kicked the Hornet’s Nest by Stieg Larsson. WOW!!! All three books were great. I have to write my reviews for those. I am currently in the middle of Lucky in Love by Jill Shalvis. Her Lucky Harbor series is great. Since I am not very good at reading one book at a time, I will be starting Somebody to Love by Kristan Higgins and Magic Unchained by Jessica Andersen this weekend as well. I have been putting off reading it again because I didn’t want any distractions from it. I will leave it at 4 for now. I downloaded Les’s Bringing Down Sam as well, but I haven’t started it yet.
I really miss you guys. Have a fabulous weekend all.
Peace and love,
Paula R.
Great to see you, Paula! I could not get into the Larssen books. I tried. The concept is interesting to me, but his style didn’t work for me.
Oh drat. Look above for my response to this. Sorry about that.
Thank you so much Paula!
I’m reading a book about dogs. Izzy & Lenore by Jon Katz.

Hi to Everyone…
This is a day late but I will post anyway!! I just got back from a trip to Oregon late Friday afternoon so still catching up with email, blogs, etc. Since my trip was to visit family & friends there was not a lot of reading happening. A bit here & there. Taking older favorites to reread works very well for me when I travel. I managed to read all the stories in Paris or Bust, published in 2003 by Harlequin with stories by Kate Hoffmann, Jacaqueline Diamond & Jill Shalvis. All enjoyable. A fun reread. After that I started More Than Words another Harlequin book that is much more recent. This book was published in 2011 with authors Carly Phillips, Donna Hill & Jill Shalvis as contributors. If you have not tried one of these books please put in on your “to buy/read” list. So far I have only managed to read the first story by Carly which was a wonderful read. Job well done Carly. Thanks. :applause:
