Carly’s What’cha Reading Saturday

Me? I found a new author. KRISTEN ASHLEY In a word? LOVE. First person (new for me but these are people you WANT To be in their heads only as it happens). Why? ALPHA MALES. Like I’ve never read them before. Start with either The Rock Chick Series or with the Dream Man series and then keep going. I am. Long books. 100,000 words long so worth every penny of the $4.99/book. Ebook (sorry book only lovers). So anyway … RUN and read these books. Of course being the stalker I am, I contacted her and she will be guest posting here one day this spring. For me, that’s gonna be a huge treat!

So what are YOU reading?

Carly

CarlyCarly Phillips would like to take 100% credit for all her stories but the truth is, Carly’s strength is writing family, emotion, funky elderly people and animals. She couldn’t plot her way out of a paper bag, which is why she smartly found her plotmonkey pals early on in her writing career. Thanks to their support, Carly is now a NYT Bestselling author of 23 plus novels. Because writing doesn’t keep her busy enough, Carly is also a wife, a mother of one preteen and one teenage daughter, the primary care giver of her soft coated Wheaten terrier and an expert carpool mom.

I’m reading GUNS AND ROSES, the new ebook anthology published by all the gals at Murder She Writes blog. I’m four stories in and loving it. The book starts with a Roxanne St. Claire Bullet Catcher story and ends with a visit to Toni McGee Causey’s fabulous Bobbie Faye. In between is visits with some favorite characters and introductions to some new ones. I’m loving it! Next up is either the new J.D. Robb In Death book or Kate Carlisle’s new Bibliophile mystery. Happy reading everyone! :reading:

It’s a cold day with high winds in Rhode Island today so it’s the perfect time to sit in front of a cozy fire. Just the type of day I’ve been waiting for to finish reading Viscount Breckenridge to the Rescue by Stephanie Laurens!

I’m almost done with JoAnn Ross’ On Lavender Lane, the latest in her Shelter Bay series. This is sooo good I don’t want it to end. It is one of those really good books that makes it hard to choose the next one. Before that I read Tawny Weber’s 3 Blaze books, Undercover Operatives, series. Lucky me I have a really good selection on my TBR shelf! I make sure that is well stocked.

Your new discovery sounds like an author I would enjoy reading but I really hate that these days if you are not ereading you are left out. Not fair! :boohoo: I know no one said life is fair! :drama:

Everyone enjoy the weekend. :waving: :flag: :flag: :flag: :flag:

Last night, I Finished up Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. I loved it up until the end. I am reading Restless Heart by Wynonna Judd, yep you read that correctly. It’s very funny and is a good read; light and very witty. Finishing up Destined by P.C. & Kristin Cast. Also reading Defender by Catherine Mann. So much to read…love the fact it’s my weekend off. Will have to judge some entries for my chapter contest tomorrow and get some work done for my day job though. I hope the day is going well for everyone. Have a great rest of the weekend.

    Peace and love,
    Paula R.

I’m about to finish reading a book written by Steve Allen…the entertainer we all loved on tv in the 50′s and 60′s. Surprisingly he crafts a good story….maybe writing music and stories goes hand in hand. Are there any authors that write music today?

I am reading a Lori Foster about the Buckhorn Brothers that are reissues from 2000. Buckhorn Beginnings – the first book features Sawyer & Morgan. Then the next book is Forever Buckhorn – featuring Gabe & Jordan, and the final book is Buckhorn Legacy – featuring Casey.

This is a very good series, you would think that it would be dated, but so far it has been very good.

I need to be reading “On Folly Beach” by Karen White for Book Club with my library colleagues on Wednesday night…but I’m sure you know what happens when you start a good book…series!

Looooove Kristen Ashley!!! I’ve been reading romance books since many, many years and I’ve got lots of favorite authors but I don’t think I’ve been addicted to anyone like I am to Kristen Ashley. Started with “Sweet Dreams” and been on a reading binge ever since then. Just finished her latest, “Games of the Heart” and loved it! (of course…)
