So…just as a reminder…
If you have a spare buck or two…and a digital reading device…head on over and pick up a copy of PHANTOM PLEASURES, which is currently on sale everywhere for only .99! Also, DIRTY LITTLE SECRETS, the first in my Marisela Morales romantic suspense series, is also only .99 now at Barnes & Noble and iTunes. (Amazon to come soon, I’m sure!)
What am I reading…well, I can’t tell you. I’m reading entries for the RITAs, the peer-judged awards for romance novels sponsored by Romance Writers of America. Since I’m a judge, I can’t say what I’m reading…but I can tell you that it’s really good and I’m enjoying myself immensely.
Unfortunately, I have 7 other books to read in the next month, which is hard for me because I am a very slow reader.
What will come after that? I will be able to finish Leslie’s IT HAPPENED ONE CHRISTMAS (I had to stop reading immediately to start the RITA books or I would never finish in time) and then I’m not sure. Probably Kresley Cole’s LOTHAIRE, which is sitting right beside me all nice and shiny and sexy. Or perhaps one of the urban fantasy recommendations I got a couple of weeks ago via Twitter.
What about you? What are you reading?

By all reports, Julie Leto was a sweet child once, somewhat shy, preferring to play quietly in her room making up stories. However, being raised with three brothers in a loud, primarily Italian household did have its influences and Julie discovered her inner tough girl. That’s probably why most of her heroines kick serious butt. Writing sassy heroines has worked out, as she’s sold over forty books to four publishers featuring strong, confident women. Julie lives in Florida with her daughter, a spoiled dachshund, a haughty lynx-point Siamese and a wide range of relatives all within driving distance.

I finished up all the books in Jeaniene Frost’s Cat and Bones/Night Huntress series and spinoffs. I enjoyed them. I’ve just started Jayne Ann Krentz’s COPPER BEACH. So far, it’s vintage Krentz and I’m enjoying the way she’s working some of her Arcane Society world into this one, without it being an AS book.
Today is chapter day, though. All day. I’m helping out with the early session critique group, then lunch, program, business meeting, then budget meeting after. *sigh* At least I’ll have time to read next week on my trip to Florida!

Going back and forth between Janet Evanovich’s Explosive Eighteen and Jill Shavis’ Simply Irresistible. I figure since I read the other 2 Shavis books in the Lucky Harbor series I should probably read the first. Almost forgot that Kismet is started on the Kindle. Not enough time to read all I want.

I’ve just finished Paula Roe’s Bed of Lies. I can’t help but feel like parts of the story are missing – which probably isn’t surprising considering that she cut 20,000 words from the original story.
I’m now rereading Janelle’s Too Wilde To Tame.

Actually finished up my judging entries for a RWA chapter. Can’t tell you what they are but they were for self published books and they were good. Ladies, keep up the great work in self publishing your re-releases. I have read some real gems that I missed out the first time out.
Anywoos…reading for pleasure now…Once A Mistress by Debra Mullins. Its been re-released digitally by Samhain and its really good. I’m a sucker for a good old fashioned historical.

This weekend I am reading for research. In An Instant, by Lee and Bob Woodruff, and Coping With Mild Traumatic Brian Injury, by Stoler and Hill. Sometimes the writing leads me in strange directions. Of course, in between research and writing I am sneaking in a littl reading for fun – Copper Beach by JAK.

Finished Jill Shalvis’ 2-in-1 Simply books, hoping to get my hands on lil sis Chloe’s book soon. Kind of on another paranormal kick though. Currently reading Sherrilyn Kenyon’s No Mercy. It keeps my fingers turning pages.
After that set to read Christine Feehan’s Sea Haven Novel Spirit Bound, loved the witch sisters from that town and the first in the Sea Haven series so far. Then, it’s Feehan’s Savage Nature.
