New Years Eve!
Carly Icon

Ok it’s New Years Eve … some of us are going out. Others are staying in. I’m having dinner out with hubby and family friends and then will be home before the New Year hits, TV will be on, hubby will be asleep, I’ll be reading in bed (or sleeping)! Very exciting but that’s the way we roll. What about you? Home? Out? And if home what are YOU reading?

Carly

CarlyCarly Phillips would like to take 100% credit for all her stories but the truth is, Carly’s strength is writing family, emotion, funky elderly people and animals. She couldn’t plot her way out of a paper bag, which is why she smartly found her plotmonkey pals early on in her writing career. Thanks to their support, Carly is now a NYT Bestselling author of 23 plus novels. Because writing doesn’t keep her busy enough, Carly is also a wife, a mother of one preteen and one teenage daughter, the primary care giver of her soft coated Wheaten terrier and an expert carpool mom.

HOME! But definitely not reading or sleeping since the whole family’s going to be here as well!:) LOL ..we’ll have dinner & then we usually play something like cards or domino or charades.. At midnight we go a little crazy with the traditional celebrations.. :) & then we keep playing or catch a movie or call friends & family that it’s not here! (Grandpa’s in Puerto Rico for the holidays!) & then everybody leaves (or goes to sleep) whenever they want!:P Happy New Year’s Eve Carly!:*

    Morning

I will be in my mother houjse for a while maybe playing some Dominoes then we will be home before midnight. My husband works next day at 6 am so he will be sleeping. I still am deciding if sleep or wait it on TV.

My best wishes to you on this new year.

Definitely staying home. Babysitters are too expensive for us to go out. I am reading Love Unscripted by Tina Rebar on my kindle. Very good so far. About a small town bar owner that falls in love with a famous actor that is in her town shooting a movie.

I supposed to be going to dinner with some of my friends tonight. My cold has turned into something else, so not sure I’m up to dinner out now. Even if I go, will be home before midnight. I might make it to midnight, but only if I really make myself stay awake.

I’m currently reading One More Summer by Liz Flaherty.

Tonight we will be home watching the ball drop on tv. As for what I’m reading, I just finished City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare. Its the fourth book in the Mortal Instruments series. It was so good but I hated the ending! I ended up throwing the book and yelling at it, lol! Maybe its just that I have to wait till May to see what happens next.

Anyways I hope you all have a wonderful and safe New Years!

We might go over to the daughters house for a little while. They just moved and don’t have cable hooked up yet so we will come home for the dropping of the ball.
I have been off all week so it’s been a reading frenzy for me. I just finished Spirit Bound by Christine Feehan and before that it was The Duke is Mine by Eloisa James. Decisions, Decisions on what to read next.
Everyone have a safe New Year

Hey Carly, I don’t really do much for New Years Eve. My usual routine is having a sink of dishes to watch, then watch the ball drop in all the chaos of Times Square. I never really did anything, except for one year. A friend of mine was celebrating her birthday that night and we went to Times Square as the last stop of our celebration. Scary place to be around that time.

    Peace and love,
    Paula R.

I will be home most likely reading something. Hubby will be either watching TV or napping in his chair. That is kind of how we spend every new years. Also going to order pizza so I don’t have to cook.

Home tonight. Hubby usually works on New Year’s Eve but is home tonight. Now that the kids are all grown we will be very low keyed tonight. Maybe even go out for dinner, just the 2 of us. When the kids were little & hubby working it was game night for us along with mini celebrations. My favorite memory is 2000 when my then 7 yr old decided to stay awake to watch the celebrations around the world. He made it too. AM reading Debbie Macomber’s Learning to Love.

Home. Definitely. Pizza, wine, and Daniel Craig. Yay for “Cowboys and Aliens”! Lawyer Guy will be asleep on the couch by midnight, I’ll be in bed visiting with friends on-line, and reading Jeaniene Frost’s AT GRAVE’S END. I came late to the Cat and Bones books and I’m loving them!

Have a safe and sane New Year’s Eve, everyone! And may the new year bring health, wealth, and wisdom to you all!

Just got home. One side of my family gathers the Saturday after Christmas to exchange gifts and catch up. This year it happened to fall on New Year’s Eve. So cut short the celebration so could get home before all the crazy holiday revelers hit the road. Will do some reading, then switch over in time to see the ball drop, then to hear the update when the hour dons in our time zone too. After that, it’s a book and bed or catch upon the 2 months worth of GH and other soaps I’ve got recorded and haven’t quite found time to catch up on.

Happy New Year all! Hope all are safe and have a healthy fulfilling year.

My husband and I are bickering about WHY we have to stay up to watch the ball drop — or the acorn, as it does in Raleigh. Seriously. He’s working hard (but from home so that’s a good thing) and I’m reading Suz Brockmann’s Future Perfect. Happy New Year, everyone!
