NEWS FLASH!!
*****************************
Before I get on to my regular blog post, I wanted to make a very exciting announcement. Bruce has scheduled his next Secrets of a Romance Writer’s Husband show. It’s scheduled for Monday, February 28, at 8:00pm Eastern time. And the guests are:
THE PLOTMONKEYS!
How cool is that? The four of us are going to be live on the air, talking with Bruce, and talking to YOU. Please plan to call in and ask your questions (or just say hello.) It’s sure to be a lot of fun, so mark it on your calendars!
And now, on to our regularly scheduled post…
******************************
So, the groundhog didn’t see his shadow last week and we’re in for an early spring.
I imagine a lot of people in this country are definitely on board with that!
So let’s have an early-spring cheerleading party here today. Tell me your favorite part of spring…the flowers, the baseball, the temperatures, the blue skies…what? I’ll pick three random commenters and give each a copy of one of my backlist Leslie Kelly books. (IE: No Parrish books–just don’t have enough.
As for me? Here’s my favorite part of spring…my two favorite flowers popping up everywhere:
How about you?

Leslie Kelly used to say she wanted to be a doctor when she grew up, but then she discovered Nancy Drew books. Being a flashlight-under-the-covers-nose-in-book reader throughout her childhood, she couldn’t think of anything else she’d rather do as an adult than continue to lose herself in fictional stories. Her real life marriage of 20 years to the man of her dreams is a constant reinforcement that happily-ever-afters really can happen…and that they’re worth writing about. Living in Maryland, Leslie spends her non-writing time laughing a lot with the above-mentioned romance hero and their three daughters. Though an author of more than thirty sexy, contemporary comedies, she has recently branched out to write dark romantic suspense under the pseudonym Leslie Parrish.

I’ve already put Bruce’s chat with the Plotmonkeys in my phone. Can’t wait!!!
I love the warmer weather and watching all the trees and flowers come back to life. I get to sleep with my windows open at night and the temps are perfect for running outside. However, my allergies hate everything I love about Spring, so I just up my meds during peak allergy season. Bring on Spring!!!

Here’s hoping for an early spring!

Oh yeah, spring is my fave also. I know by the end of the month my flowers will begin popping up under the snow, they always do. I planted about 100 new tulip bulbs in one area last fall and can’t wait to see how they do. Living in Albany, the one thing we always have is tulips. The Tulip Fest is mother’s day weekend. Gotta love out dutch roots.
I will not be looking forward to the record breaking basement flooding I am sure is coming thanks to all the snow though. :*&#!:

I like the smell of lilacs in spring. The beautiful color that comes back to life. I like the milder temps. Wearing less clothes and feeling more comfortable. So many things to enjoy.

i LOVE everything about spring but mostly the flowers :)

I like the warmer weather and the beautiful flowers, I love flowers. It can’t get here fast enough for me.
Comment
I love the flowers, but also the longer days.

I must confess that I am longing for one more snow storm (we’ve only had one this season). Maybe, 4 inches would be nice for two days. It’s so cold, I wish that I didn’t have to freeze for nothing.
Comment
I would love an early spring just about now!
Comment
I love the sunshine! I also love the longer days, the flowers and the temperatures.
The only thing is the pesky lil bugs start to appear again.
Comment
I am dreading the returns of the stinkbugs. Those little monsters have increased exponentially the past couple of summers!

My favorite thing about Spring? No more snow! I know, I know. Sad. But it is true. We moved into a new house in 2009 and didn’t quite think it through because it is on a hill, a steep hill. So when it snows, it is a dangerous drive and sometimes you go straight through the stop sign into the busy street below. So for the past two years, Spring has had a whole new effect on me :)

My favorite part of Spring is being able to open the windows and having fresh air come into the house. When the sunshines in and warms up the house – it is so nice. There is a beautiful tree in front of my house and the flowers will start to bloom. And we can get rid of the bulking coat and boots. So since I’m from Staten Island, I’m counting on CHUCK being right and Spring is just around the corner!

My favorite thing of spring is baseball. The truck leaves Fenway park today so that means that it will be soon. Baseball means warmer weather and longer days

For me it’s got to be the sunshine and the warmth! I’m so tired
of being cold!! My old bones just cannot take much more!

I love the warm days, blue skies overhead, trees are beginning to bud, flowers are poking their heads up and we can open up the windows, turn on the attic fan and bring in fresh air.
Today it’s snowing and cold. A high of 10

Love those pictures Leslie. The best part of spring is the flowers. Here we have had such warm weather that there are already daffodils & a few other things blooming. I also love the lush green from the winter rains. It is just so pretty everywhere. All that said I still love Fall best.

I love the flowers and knowing that Summer is just around the corner.

I love the flowers and Baseball!

Yay for the 28th! I’ll do my best to be there.
As the 12 inches of snow from last week is just about melted, we are bracing for another 6-12 to dump tonight and tomorrow. Spring? Yeah, WAAAAY overdue as far as I’m concerned!!!!

I like the warm weather and the longer days. I’m also excited by spring training.

My traditional sign of spring is Truck Day. In Boston, those who partake of Red Sox Nation, Truck Day is when the equipment is loaded at Fenway Park and heads south for spring training. Quite the event in Beantown.
Comment
Sounds fun! My Dad was born/raised in Boston and is a big-time Sox fan.

I am looking out my window and it is windy (REALLY windy). It is cold. There is snow and ice outside. My heater is running! So, what I love most about spring is the warmer temps. From that springs all of the other good parts of spring!

Since it’s in the mid-60′s here, all the plants think it’s Spring now. The camellias have bloomed already. And I think I saw my first mosquito yesterday as well as nearly hitting a fawn with my car last night.
Comment
Ugh on mosquitos!

The thing I love most about spring is that it’s so close to summer which is my favorite season. So, big yay for spring coming early… summer might be early too! :Valday:

Aside from the pollen, I love to see everything in bloom. To me, it’s just a reminder that life is renewing itself again! You get to open the windows and let nature light your home, and feel the breeze!

Les, I’m very excited about the chat with Bruce. I don’t even know what to do with myself. I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!
My favorite part of spring is the fact that the days are getting longer. The colore are kinda pretty too.
Peace and love,

I love the sunshine, longer days, and the early flowers. Just don’t like it when all the allergy symptoms appear in May…..oh well, here’s hoping spring comes soon.

I’ve loved this little trip down spring lane…thanks so much everyone for playing. (We need a spring icon–a tree blossoming or something!)
Anyway, by random number generator (courtesy of three members of my family who called out numbers between 1-27,) the winners are:

Coming from the midwest, Spring can’t get here soon enough…Love the fresh air and being able to sit outside. When the lilacs are in full bloom and their sweet fragrance fills the air is a sure sign that spring has arrived… :Valday:
