I’m a Lucky Girl
Carly Icon

Because so many people care about me! Thank you for all the good wishes and thoughts and prayers. My dad’s sick and Buddy, my beloved doggie boy, is having age related issues and I’ve been in a fog for a good few weeks. I appreciate all of your understanding. Dad started treatment, we’re still trying to figure out Buddy’s problems, but my book is written and finished a few days ahead of deadline, even with all this going on in my life.

Today the best I can give you is to update my knitting. Last year I showed you some basic scarves I made on my first go-round. This year, I’ve progressed to more advanced yarn … it’s been very soothing and cathartic for me during this time.

and

The black is harder to see against my black shirt but it’s fake Cincilla.

I can’t promise I’ll be back to lots of Internet time soon, but I will try. It all hinges on how things go at home. But thank you all for your understanding!

Carly

CarlyCarly Phillips would like to take 100% credit for all her stories but the truth is, Carly’s strength is writing family, emotion, funky elderly people and animals. She couldn’t plot her way out of a paper bag, which is why she smartly found her plotmonkey pals early on in her writing career. Thanks to their support, Carly is now a NYT Bestselling author of 23 plus novels. Because writing doesn’t keep her busy enough, Carly is also a wife, a mother of one preteen and one teenage daughter, the primary care giver of her soft coated Wheaten terrier and an expert carpool mom.

((((hugs)))) I’m sending prayers and many positive thoughts that your dad goes successfully through treatment and that Buddy starts feeling better too. It’s a lot for one person to handle, so let your family and friends be there for you. Take whatever time you need.

Love those scarves – so pretty!

    ((HUGS))

I feel you. They just put my dad in the hospital for a 2 week eval and treatment plan. We can’t even visit. Apparently, he has entered the “severe” phase of Alzheimers.

I will keep you in my prayers. Maybe one Friday, you should give away one of those soft scarves. :)

Aw, sweetie, I’m so sorry life is beating you up at the moment. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Try to think positive about your dad’s treatment and Buddy’s age issues. I know what it is like taking care of an older dog. Problems will crop up that you have no control over. It’s just part of them getting older. I would say prepare yourself but even if you do when their time comes it’s still like a knife to the heart.

Do something nice just for you, pamper yourself a little. You need it and deserve it.

    The scarves are beautiful :-)

    Cher

*Hugs* Carly. I’m sending good healing vibes to your father and Buddy! I’ll keep you and your family in my prayers. Take all the time you need and keep your chin up.

Congratulations on finishing your book. You are truly a strong dedicated woman. I don’t think I would have been able to focus with so much going on. You have taught me a lesson.

Both of your scarves are beautiful. You did such a wonderful job on them both. They look so beautiful with your complexion and your hair.

    Your Jungle Buddy,
    Talina

Congrats on having Serendipity done before deadline. Hopefully the weather isn’t too severe near you. Have a great rest of the day.

    I love your scarf. I admire anyone who can do that. I have no, ZERO,patience. My father was diagnosed with intstitial lung disease summer before last and given six months to live. This past summer he had made it a year and is still going. It’s tough taking care of our parents. {Carly}

Big Hugs!!! My Dad got sick when I was 16 it was a terrible form of cancer they couldn’t cure in his brain. I pray your Dad recovers nicely from whatever he’s going through. Also you dog, I just lost 2 cats this year, one to diabetes and one died from I don’t know what must have been old age so I know it’s scary to lose a pet, I hope you find out what it is and he’s back to normal soon.

I love your scarves! There’s beautiful. I have no idea how to knit, it’s something my grandma and Mom know but I remember being taught at a young age, I guess i would have rather played outside and never learned how.

Congrats on the completion of another book!!!! YAY!!! :cheer:

Your family is all important and needs your attention. Do what it takes to give them all the love you can. Pray your Dad comes through with flying colors and Buddy recovers too.
Like your scarves-I used to knit years ago until my reading took over completely.
    Stay strong.
