We haven’t talked for a while about books we’ve all been reading. I’ve gone through a spell of thriller/horror/mystery/historical drama and have had some great ones and some meh ones. Haven’t read any romances in the past few months…though there are some coming out this summer that I’m really looking forward to!
My most recent reads:
Dan Brown’s THE LOST SYMBOL.
My reaction: Blah. Actually, I shouldn’t say that, because there were parts I really, truly enjoyed. The story was interesting–though not nearly as much as The DaVinci Code. Still, I’ve always been fascinated by the founding fathers & their real religious beliefs, and love D.C., and have a fascination with the Masons. But oh, God, this book! Page after page after page of narrative. Plus the main character never–ever–seems to grow and/or learn from his mistakes. He just kept repeating the same thing over and over again, “Well, sorry, I don’t believe in that, it’s impossible!” and once he was proved wrong, the next thing would come up and he’d say “Well, sorry, I don’t believe in that, it’s impossible!” Plus the dialogue was just so annoying–people don’t just speak in complete sentences, they speak in HUGE blocks of uninterrupted text. Delivering lectures to the reader, rather than talking to each other. Back & forth questions meant only to dump information to the audience. It drove me absolutely bonkers! An RT reviewer called my villain in COLD SIGHT “over the top” well, let me tell you, Brown’s villain was so over the top he might as well have been named Count Darth Hannibal Bundy Krueger. I mean, just ridiculous. Cool premise, I’ll definitely give him that. But the execution really left a lot to be desired. I give the book a 2.5/5 stars.
Max Brooks’s WORLD WAR Z: An Oral History of the Zombie Wars
My reaction: Loved it. Really interesting zombie apocalypse book in that it’s all written in interview form with survivors, from all over the world, of the 10 year long Zombie Wars. It’s a little dry, not oriented on the action, told more like a journalist’s account. You see through their memories how it all started, the major battles, the repercussions, the turnaround, the eventual triumph. (Or was there…hmm…lol!) A really cool concept and a fun ride from Mel Brooks’s son…who would thought?! I give it 5/5 stars.
Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child’s FEVER DREAM
This was the latest book about that fabulous, wonderful, exotic and mysterious FBI Agent Aloysius Pendergast. He’s a fascinating character and I’ve read every one of this books. But lately…well, I’m sad to say, lately they’ve begun to disappoint me. I fear the magic is fading. (I have to wonder if it’s fading for the authors, too, as they are debuting a new series next year!) The last several have taken me a few days to get through while the first few I gobbled in one or two sittings. (Cabinet of Curiosities being my favorite.) This one had an interesting peek into Pendergast’s past, when he realized the gruesome death of his wife wasn’t just an unfortunate accident (lion attack ack!) but that she’d been murdered. Thing was, the super-mysterious villain was pretty easy to figure out and yet he never seemed motivated enough to do what he’d done. I had a really hard time with that. Plus the book was kinda slow in the first 2/3. But the scenes in the swamp were wonderful…these two did a fabulous job creating an eerie setting in their first book, Relic, and the swamp scene definitely reminded me of how I got the chills reading that one! I give it 3.5/5 stars.
Philippa Gregory THE CONSTANT PRINCESS and THE OTHER QUEEN
I read both of these books within the past few months, finishing out Gregory’s Tudors chronicles (all of which I read totally out of order…lol!) I always get totally caught up in these historical sagas, having long had a fascination with the Tudor realm. (Can’t believe the Showtime series is almost ending…only 2 more episodes!) Anyway, I don’t regret reading either of these books, despite not really liking either title character. Katherine of Aragon in THE CONSTANT PRINCESS was a manipulator and a liar, and despite being “constant” (in this context, incredibly patient, as she knew it was her “destiny” to be Queen of England) I found her obnoxious. Plus the book was soooooo sloooooow. The first quarter, however, with the love story between her and Arthur, her first husband—Henry’s brother—was unbelievably sweet and left me wondering what might have happened had he survived. I give that one a 2.5/5.
THE OTHER QUEEN was a bit more interesting, not because of Mary, Queen of Scots, but rather because of Bess of Hardwick, the other pov character, whose life is utterly destroyed because of Mary. She and her husband are forced by Elizabeth to house this “other” queen during her long incarceration and it not only bankrupts them, it destroys their marriage. But Bess was a wonderful, strong, brilliant character—a nice foil to the vain and manipulative Mary or the cold and commanding Elizabeth. I liked this one. 4/5.
Stephen King JUST AFTER SUNSET
You all know I love King, and his short-story collections are among my favorites of all his books. (Nightmares & Dreamscapes, and Different Seasons—which contained the stories on which the movies The Shawshank Redemption and Stand By Me were based—are my two favorites.)
This one is really good. Much better than his last two collections, though honestly, I can’t put my finger on why. I just liked the stories better (except for the last one, which was just gross!) They were more haunting than horrifying, with very little in the way of the supernatural, and more psychology. One story involves a thriller writer who stumbles upon a scene of domestic abuse and decides that he, the boring writer, can’t deal with it; however his alter-ego, his bad-ass writing pseudonym, can—and does. Very cool and entertaining, especially to an author with a pseudonym. (Hmm…I think Leslie Parrish would react very differently to that situation than Leslie Kelly would!) I give this one a 4/5.
Okay, how about all of you? Sorry my romance reading has been a bit thin…I do tend to go through phases! I picked up some great historical romances at BEA in New York 2 weeks ago and intend to dive into them once I’m all caught up on my own work!
Oh, PS: Julie is guest-blogging today at http://terryodell.blogspot.com/ I’m sure she’d love to see some familiar faces! (From Julie: Yes, PLEASE!)

Leslie Kelly used to say she wanted to be a doctor when she grew up, but then she discovered Nancy Drew books. Being a flashlight-under-the-covers-nose-in-book reader throughout her childhood, she couldn’t think of anything else she’d rather do as an adult than continue to lose herself in fictional stories. Her real life marriage of 20 years to the man of her dreams is a constant reinforcement that happily-ever-afters really can happen…and that they’re worth writing about. Living in Maryland, Leslie spends her non-writing time laughing a lot with the above-mentioned romance hero and their three daughters. Though an author of more than thirty sexy, contemporary comedies, she has recently branched out to write dark romantic suspense under the pseudonym Leslie Parrish.

Reading? What’s reading?? I have barely had time to even check out the email on the computer lately.
But I have been trying to read and have 2 books going-Blazing Bedtime Stories on my ereader and Moonlight Falls by Vincent Zandri, a local author. It’s a murder mystery with a twist- the “hero” is a cop who tried to commit suicide but the bullet lodged itself in his brain. The DB is his former boss’ wife, who he was banging. It’s got some twists and turns and i like it. It’s fun trying to figure out where he is talking about and who at times. I promised him 3 months ago I would review it on Amazon and then all hell broke lose at work. I haven’t had time to read at all- so I sent it to myself as a pdf and I try and get a few pages in everyday. Don’t tell anyone!!
Comment
That sounds like a very cool premise, Ev!

It is good and this dribs and drabs I have been reading at is killing me!

Hey Leslie! You’ve been reading some heavy books. Not really my thing, though every rare occasion I might pick one up.
Let’s see, I finally did finish Cold Sight and will try to work on my review this week. Now I’m reading Ilona Andrews’ Magic Bleeds, the 4th book in the Kate Daniels series, and I’m loving it. Next up, no clue. So many to choose from…
Will be posting a recap with pics of the Lori Foster/Dianne Castell event soon…

Great Stacy, I’ll look forward to it! I saw the thread you started about COLD SIGHT on the Romantic Times message boards, thank you SO much! Really looking forward to reading your final thoughts.

I am currently reading Wrong Groom, Right Bride by Patricia Kay. It is flowing smoothly and I am enjoying it.
Recently read 3 seductions and a Wedding by Julie Leto and it was AWESOME, by the by we need an awesome tag. I loved the way is was written and stopped for a breather between stories to allow time for seperation. Great story Julie, Thanks.
Has anyone read The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold? If you haven’t bought it yet then I recommend you borrow it from someone or the library. I would not recommend anyone read it. I did lend my copy to a co-worker who had a hard time getting through it also, although we did finish it. It is supposed to be about a girl who is killed and her father searches for the killer with her help. It is about ‘Nothing’.
Any recommendations for a good read? I could have the book in my TBR pile and could pull it to the top.
Comment
Hey Pat, I read TLB when it first came out. It was heavy reading for me at the time. It is a fantastic story, and I felt it was well written. It got me on a very deep emotional level and took me months to get out of that chasm. I also read the book after that one, and it was a little difficult to separate from it. I think that I might be able to revisit them again sometime in the future, but I read them at the wrong time in my life.
Peace and love,
Paula R.

I haven’t read The Lovely Bones, though I know the movie came out recently and looked pretty good. Maybe I’ll stick with that!
Comment
I’m glad you liked the book Paula, I just found it to be a very hard read.
Leslie, I didn’t see the movie because I didn’t care for the book. Let me know if the movie is any good and I might give it a try.
You’re welcome Julie, thanks for the great story.
Comment
I also didn’t care for the book The Lovely Bones. I finished the whole book but found it boring as well. The movie was ok, and pretty much summed up the whole book too, even if a few things were changed.

Pure Romance, baby. Toni Blake’s Sugar Creek, a sneak peek of Erin McCarthy’s newest race car book, Jill Shalvis’ old Blaze (the one with the Chef … YUM!) …
Comment
I have the first book in Toni Blake’s series–have been meaning to read it as I remember reading a ton of great reviews/comments on it!
Comment
Phenomenal – the first book in the series! Read it!

I read romance, romance, romance….but it varies! I try to mix it up, but I’m fairly specific in the types/authors that I like. I read Still the One by Robin Wells last night on the plane from DC to Amsterdam. That was a sweet story. Not sure what is on my Kindle, but it will get me through the rest of the week!

After Jenelle sang the praises of Larissa Ione, I’ve gotten addicted to the Demonica series. I’m on the 3rd book right now, and have loved them all!!

Can’t wait till Aug. I think it is for the next one!

Oh my, maybe I need to read more slowly then.
I hate having to wait for the next book in a series!

Just finished Cindy Gerard’s Risk no secrets.
I liked it a lot. Linda Lael Miller has a new three
Book series I am reading. I love her brother books
And these new ones will not disappoint.
Read JRWard’s new brotherhood book.
I’d buy it again but it was not her best.
I am ncurrently reading Pleasure Unbound by
Larissa Ione(a new to me author).
I am enjoying the characters and the
Quick wit. I got all 4 books on Janelle’s
recommendation and I’m glad I did.

Just picked up Moon Craving by Lucy Monroe and getting ready to start Crazy Wild by Tara Janzen. Just finished Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin and ran out last night in search of Something Blue since the first book left you hanging.

Good morning Les, I read quite a bit in the last couple of months. I read all the House of Night books by P.C and Kristin Cast. They were all great YA reads. I also read all of Tori Carrington’s Sofie Metropolis books tod date; The Next Best Thing and Fools Rush In by Kristan Higgins; Demonkeepers by Jessica Andersen, which was awesome; Lover Mine by J.R. Ward, which I think is the best in the series so far; Joss Ware’s Envy Chronicles books; The Help by Kathryn Stockett, a fabulous read; Total Control by David Baldacci, and many more that I can’t remember the titles of right now.
I started your HQN Showcase book, and I will be reading a LOT more romance now that school is out. My TBR bookshelves are heaving, and I need to take some weight off before they burst. I also need to make room for my new purchases. July is a great book buying month… ;-)
I hope you have a very enjoyable day.
Peace and love,
Paula R.

Thanks so much for picking up my Showcase book, Paula! I really liked Wicked & Willing…such a wicked, bad, sexy hero!

I am loving Naturally Naughty right now. I had to leave it in my apartment so I could get my comments written. I have seven left, but I can finish them tomorrow. I love Jack and Kate so far.

I found some ‘old’ Janelle books (ones I had never read and they seem like they have seen better days…LOL…), currently, I am reading “A Dad for Daniel” (love it). I have also been reading some backlisted Julie books (Seducing Sullivan and another one). I have also read some other ‘Presents’ books, but nothing really worth mentioning. I have to get through a lot before my huge shipment comes in from Eharlequin (I don’t know how I am going to sneak it in). I told VLT that I would read her book on my trip and leave it there (I don’t reread books, typically and I can’t keep all books, I only keep the ones that are signed and/or autographed to me). What’s really strange is that I have started reading some books lately (not a PM book) and I haven’t gotten into them, so I have just ‘goodwilled’ them after about 4 chapters. Not a great record lately. All of the PM books have been awesome, btw.
Comment
“Sneak it in” — do you mean into the house? Are you hoping to avoid hearing, “How many books do you need?!?” lolol!
Comment
Um, yes, Leslie…..I got a great deal over Memorial day….20% books, plus bogo (so the ones I had to pay for were 20%, plus I got one free). Couldn’t pass that one up. My husband doesn’t understand my book addiction. Our room has been taken over by books!
Our library has an ‘adult’ reading program (in addition to the kids’ one). I can’t wait to start and beat last year’s record of 30 books. It was somewhere near 30 books. My middle son and I usually see who can read more books!
Comment
BTW, I love the “old finds’ of Janelle’s….I just meant that they were really loved (I typically buy new books only due to my allergies). It’s fun reading the dedications and ‘knowing’ these people!
Comment
Wow, A DAD FOR DANIEL is a REALLY old one! That was back when I was writing the sweeter, traditional romances. I’m glad you’re enjoying, Katie!
Comment
Romance only for me. LOL I am currently reading The Greeks Virgin Bride by Julia James and finished The Siclian’s Marriage Arrangement by Lucy Monroe, these books were released together in a HQ Showcase.
I recently finished Deidre Martin’s Straight Up.
Comment
I just finished Nancy’s Theory of Style, by Grace Coopersmith (aka Marta Acosta) and it’s a lot of fun! Next, I’ll start Lee Child’s current Reacher novel, 61 Hours.
Comment
I wish that I could have been only reading romance, but unfortunately have been primarily doing a lot of reading and writing for end of semester essays. As a result most of my reading has been on cabinet government (one course) and the Irish referendums on the Lisbon Treaty (the other course). I’ve still got a test to sit on Thursday (that was supposed to be done last week – stupid illness), then I’ll be able to do and read what I like for about 4 weeks.
This doesn’t mean I haven’t been reading any romance at all. My most recent reads have been My Fake Fiancee by Nancy Warren, The Secretary’s Bossman Bargain by Red Garnier (her first Desire), Claiming Her Billion-Dollar Birthright by Maureen Child and Seduction on the CEO’s Terms by Charlene Sands. These are all July release books which I was only able to read because they are available for download from eHarlequin.
Charlene Sands book is part of her Napa Valley Vows trilogy and I’ve really loved the two books so far. Maureen Child’s book is the first in a six part Dynasty: The Jarrods miniseries and I’m looking forward to the remaining books; she tends to be an automatic addition to my “To Buy” List since I like her writing.
I’m currently re-reading Kate Angell’s Strike Zone. My ability to buy new books that I haven’t previously read is being hindered by the fact that I’m trying to buy ebook versions of the books on my keeper shelf and of course this is extending my already long “To Buy” list in the process. I’ll be going through everyone’s comment when I have the time in a couple of days to see if there are any titles among them that I should check out that aren’t already on my list.
Oops, long message sorry.

I just finished the most fabulous historical romance, so if anyone is out there looking for a truly spectacular read, do run out and buy Tessa Dare’s ONE DANCE WITH A DUKE! This is her fourth book and she just keeps getting better and better. I loved the characters, the setting, the plot…the sex…everything!
I also finished a book by one of my auto-buy authors that was hugely disappointing and I had to struggle to finish. Really, really struggle. I see her series going in a direction that doesn’t work for me, but we shall see. I’m giving her another chance whenever her next book comes out.
I also finished up judging my entries for the final round of the RITAs. Can’t say more except that 3 were really great, 3 were surprisingly not for me and the 7th one killed me because she had me up until the 3/4 point where the whole thing fell apart. I hate that.
I think I’m going to spend some time this week with Middle Grade books. AT BEA, my daughter and I got the audio version of Rick Riordan’s new book, but we also bought the hardcovers at the store. Egyptian mythology. Can’t wait! Also, I got her a book that’s way below her level, but looks fun called Goddess Girls…it’s like Gossip Girls, but with characters like Athena and Medusa. Should be a fun break!
Plan to start Larissa Ione’s Demonica series, too. Oh, and I want to go back and re-read the Kresley Cole books I’ve missed in her series. And I have a boatload of historicals on my Kindle, but I’m putting them aside because after Tessa’s book, I fear they’ll pale in comparison and I want to give them a fair shake!
Comment
I SO have to read the Dare books! The books I picked up at BEA were all historicals; for some reason they really are what is appealing to me right now. I used to read them exclusively, then got away from them, now am swinging back. Just like the average reader, I guess!
Comment
“One Dance With a Duke” is great! I love how Dare actually named a couple of very famous racehorses that were historically accurate for the period. However, SPOILER ALERT the plot does get my “idiotic younger brother” tag.
Comment
There is an idiotic younger brother…but as the sister of two younger brothers (who, fortunately, are NOT idiots) I could totally understand what Amelia was going through and I loved/hated Jack at the same time. He’s such a wounded soul, though it’s no excuse. I hope she redeems him in a later book. He has a lot of growing up to do…and I’d love to read about him in Boston!
Comment
Julie….I have an almost 8 year old, he just finished the first Harry Potter (loved it!). Should he watch the movie (He loves Star Wars movies)? Also, would he be okay reading the HP up to #3 for now?
Is the Rick Riordian book the “100 cupboards” one or the “39 clues” one? he loves them both. Yes, he reads above grade level.
Comment
“100 Cupboards” and its two sequels are written by N. D. Wilson. I think Julie is referring to the new Rick Riordan book “The Red Pyramid” although I enjoyed his Percy Jackson and the Olympian series as well.
Comment
Yes, he wrote Red Pyramid and the first book in the 39 Clues. My daughter loves him because he balances humor with action and really great characters. She loves mythology and history and he always pulls those things in, too.
Yes, he should watch the first Harry Potter! It’s a really great representation of the book and not scary at all. It’s probably my favorite of the movies for the sheer innocence and magic.
Comment
He’s been reading the first Percy Jackson (he is totally like my mom and reads several books at a time). He loves that one, too! That’s why I knew the author. Thanks for the help, Julie and cories….I am always on the search for books for him (he is my book worm) and I know Julie knows HP. It helps a lot! Yes, I am getting advice for my 7 1/2 year old on a blog for romance authors. It sounds funny. He loves his PM bookmarks, so he’s a fan of you guys.
Comment
Katie, you can check my blog for book ideas for your son, if you like. Just avoid the “Teen” ones. (I wrote the reviews for my friends with children)

Katie, how about the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series by Michael Scott? Has your son tried those? They do need to be read in sequence though (start with “The Alchemyst”).

First of all, Karen, did you like the newest race car book by Erin McCarthy? I’ve read the lst 2, &, while I don’t get anything out of the race car aspect, I do like her writing & the romance. I adored her HOUSTON, WE HAVE A PROBLEM, my fave of hers so far. Like you, it’s Romance all the way for me.
I’ve just started reading Joanna Bourne’s newest THE FORBIDDEN ROSE. Loved it so far, as I did her award-nominated THE SPYMASTER’S LADY (spectacular). This woman writes strong & unusual heroines & wonderful stories set during the Napoleonic War between France & England. Even if one weren’t a Historical Romance reader, she’d still enjoy this writer, who writes in an entirely different method than most Romance writers. Much dialogue with the heroine thinking her thoughts out loud, which works wonderfully in her books.

I LOVED the first one in the series … really enjoyed the other three!!! For some reason that first one just did something to me. But they were all fantastic! Houston We Have a Problem? What’s that? What’d I miss?
Comment
Karen, “Houston” is a very funny, sexy Contemp TP from McCarthy from ‘04 about a surgeon & his female resident, mostly at their workplace. I laughed so hard in so many places in this book, as the heroine really touched me. If you can find it, I highly recommend it. It was my lst McCarthy, which has had me search out her Contemp backlist & new releases. I like her sense of humor.

I’ve read 3 Seductions and a Wedding; Lucy Monroe’s Showcase book; Risky Engagement by Merline Lovelace; Candace Camp’s A Lady Never Tells and A Gentlemen Always Remembers. I try to read some every weekend and sometimes in the evening if I’m not too tired.

Thank you for reading the book!!!

I’ve been reading J.R. Ward’s Blackdagger Brotherhood books. I’m on book six and have mostly loved them all, but I’m ready to read something else now because I’m getting burned out on them. I want to go back to straight romance without any paranormal elements. I love Silhouette Desire and I just picked up a bunch of those. I also picked up a book by a new historical writer, Anna Campbell called My Reckless Surrender and I’m looking forward to reading it.
I also want to get back to writing. I haven’t been able to write a word since Spike passed.
Have a great day all. It has been hot, hot, hot here in Colorado but today is cloudy and much cooler. It’s supposed to really cool off on Friday and through the weekend–60’s and 70’s. Yay!

I am a little behind in my reading lately since the weather has been so nice.
I just finished The Short Life of Bree Tanner by Stephanie Meyers, 3 Seductions and a Wedding, and Garrett by Linda Lael Miller. I am back to the TBR pile for more.

Yeah, Ardie! I appreciate that you read my book. Hope you liked it!

I am having to juggle reading and studying so my TBR pile has picked up a bit, but nonetheless I have been able to get some worthwhile reading in. Just read Julie’s new book (Awesome!!!!!) and am re-reading Gena Showalters Lords books and JR Wards brotherhood books. I am waiting anxiously for my new Christine Feehan and Pamela Palmer books to come out. I would love to read a new contemporary though so if anyone has any good suggestions I am all ears. I also want to check out Tessa Dare’s books since everyone seems to rave about them. I hope everyone has a great day, the week is almost half way over!!!!!

I did read The Lost Symbol about 6months ago. (I love all things Masonic…maybe because of all the Mason’s in my familila. Me–I’m an Eastern Star) I, too found the writing stagnet at times.
I also just fininshed 3 seductions and a wedding–great book!
I also just read My Fair LAzy–Jen Lancaster
I also just read Dear John–Nicholas Spaks–crappy intro and prologue
Currently, I am reading No One You Know by Michelle Richmond about a sister’s murder.
Since, I am such a book hog, I have read a few more in there that I can’t remember.
As far as weather, I had no A/C all weekend, and it was record breaking 110, then came in yesterday and no A/C at work. Mother Nature needs to remember her estrogen.

Oh, Debbie! Hugs on the A/C issues!
I’m really happy that you enjoyed 3 Seductions!

Well, as usual I’m like a reading machine. I’m reading Vanished by Kat Richardson right now, and it’s really good–urban fantasy, a little horror, and mystery. It takes place in London, which is fascinating. I just finished Magic Bleeds by Ilona Andrews, Silver Borne by Patricia Briggs, Unholy Ghosts by Stacia Kane– and loved them all.

Thanks Plotmonkeys!
Recently I finished reading Johnny Angel by Danielle Steel, it was sad & sweet. I rarely read any of her books but this was on the community bookshelf so I decided to try it. Brenda Jackson’s Spontaneous, a Blaze, was
Whew! I’ve also read a couple books by Susan Crandall which I enjoyed. That is about it for me. Most of my reading is either romance or romantic suspense. I did read a historical that didn’t thrill me, but when I requested it I didn’t realize it was a historical. While I am traveling I will be picking up some of the more recent releases including Julie’s & hopefully Leslie Parrish.
I will miss you all while I’m off visiting family & friends. If I get to a computer I will check in. Enjoy the next couple of weeks.

I’m in the middle of Tessa Dare’s “One Dance With a Duke” and Liz Carlyle’s “A Woman Scorned”. Usually I switch off between romances and YA books, but I seem to be in the middle of a romance run. Next up, if I can get back to the YA’s, are Scott Westerfeld’s “Leviathan” (a steampunk story that was recommended by a friend), Melissa Marr’s “Radiant Shadows” (the third of the Wicked Lovely series) and, if I want a more grownup book, Patricia Brigg’s “Silver Borne” (the latest Mercy Thompson novel). And there’s also Loretta Chase’s “Don’t Tempt Me” if I still don’t want to read any YA books yet.

Leviathan is a great read. It kept me on my toes.

In the last couple of months I’ve read books in all different genres. I’ve been lucky with some really great reads. Cold Sight is another winner from Leslie. FYI, it is very dark, but totally loved anyway. Kiss Me If You Can is a super fun and sexy read from Carly. I was lucky enough to get an ARC from Net Galley and can’t wait to get my keeper copy for my shelf. Loved Lover Mine by JR Ward, but then again I love the BDB series. Read the latest Demon Soccer Mom book by Julie Kenner(Demon Ex Machina) and hope we get another in the series soon. For those who like YA books, I loved Tempted by PC Cast & Kristen Cast. It is the 6th book in the House of Night series, which I buy as soon as they come out. Burned, which is the 7th book in the series is currently waiting on my TBR shelf. Thanks to Janelle and Alannah, I moved Larissa Ione’s Desire Unchained up the stack in my TBR pile and have to say I loved it even more than the first book.
Currently reading Deep In The Valley by Robin Carr. I’ve heard about her books for a while and finally ordered one. Just started last night, but really enjoying the story so far.
