The Biggest Loser
Janelle Icon

So, you all know that I’m addicted to realty TV shows, and one of my absolute favorites is THE BIGGEST LOSER. This season, in my opinion, has been one of the best. Not only did the show have their biggest/heaviest contestants ever, but I really, really like this group of “Losers”. There were a few people in the beginning who were all about either drama or game-play, (Like Red Team Lance & Melissa and Green Team Migdalia & Miggy) but as those people were thinned out, the core group became very solid players, and friends.

Now, we’re down to the final four and tomorrow night is the finale for The Biggest Loser. I always love watching the finale, because it’s so fun and inspiring to see how everyone’s hard work with diet and excercising has paid off. Anyway, back to the final four — there are two people who have made it into the top two, and I feel that both of these “Losers” have earned those spots. There’s Ashley, who lost 161 lbs, and Mike who lost 227 lbs, in the span of less than five months. Their transformations have been so amazing! However, they both still have a lot of weight left to lose, which will be revealed at the finale. I’m expecting great things from both of them.

The other two finalists Koli (lost 185 lbs) and Daris (lost 149 lbs) are vying for the third spot at the finale. And viewers get to call in and vote for who they’d like to see in the final three. This is a really tough choice, because both men have worked so hard and definitely deserve a spot. However, neither one has that much more to lose. I honestly think, that no matter who gets that third spot, neither will win the grand prize, only because Ashley and Mike have so much more weight left to lose, and their percentage of weight loss will most likely be much higher than either Koli or Daris.

Ultimately, I’m rooting for Ashley. I hope she wins the grand prize, though Mike has been an amazing competitor, too. Oh, and did anyone else happen to notice on last week’s episode that Mike and Ashley seem to be an item?

If you watch the show, who will you ultimately be rooting for to win? And a big heads up for tonight’s premiere of The Bachelorette with Ally from last season! I’m so excited — The Bachelorette will be my guilty pleasure for the summer, since most shows are going to be repeats until the Fall!

JanelleJanelle Denison finds it hard to believe that it’s been nearly 25 years since she first started writing romance novels. At first, it was a way to pass idle time while her husband worked swing shift, but before long it became an obsession to get published. Luckily, she kept at it (it took her over 5 years to get that first book published!) and is now a Waldenbooks, Barnes & Noble, and USA Today Bestselling author! Now, after selling over 45 plus novels, she finds that her Plotmonkey pals help to keep her stories fresh and unique, and she can’t imagine writing a story without their input. Janelle lives in Oregon with her husband, Don, along with two teenage daughters that keep life interesting.

I just don’t get reality tv. Give me great drama like Bones or Dexter and now you’re talking!

The Biggest Loser is the only reality show I watch, well until Jillian’s show starts this summer. I like all 4 of the final contestants, but really hope Ashley wins. As for the at home winner, as long as it isn’t one of the Red team, I’m good.

I have tried watching “The Biggest Loser” because I have heard so many good things about it. I guess I don’t understand the show because shouldn’t the person who lost the most weight (percentage wise) win (and not be kicked off?)? Humm.

I’m like you, Katie, I don’t understand. I’ve never watched BL but I did watch a show that was similar on a network channel. They all worked with trainers, and learned to make healthy eating choices and lifestyle choices. They had these contests that they had to go through to show how much they’d learned, and then they had to show what they’d done in their lives to incorporate those changes.

One guy was in the military and he’d started this great program with his squadron and their families. It was a GREAT program, and he’d lost the most weight and gotten in the best shape. And I think he pretty much won every contest. But he didn’t win the prize at the end. :wtf:

I did watch a few partial episodes of Idol this year, but that’s the only reality show I’ve watched. I watch so little TV (I used to watch NO TV) that I’d rather spend the time watching something we all really love, like NCIS.

I think it’s a great show. I just don’t understand why the person who does the ‘best weight loss’, goes home. It confuses me. I think it’s like “Survivor”, it’s all strategy and not any of the ‘how to build a fire’ anymore. Even “Amazing Race’ has gotten ‘all strategy’ and not who is the smartest/best racer.

I voted for Daris to be in the Final Three, but I think that this is Mike’s game to lose. I thought at the beginning that he was a diva and baby, but he has grown on me. Ashley and Mike did seem a little chummy on the last episode, is this the year of romance or what. First Sam and Melissa and now possibly Mike and Ashley. HAPPY DANCE!!!! :cooldance:

I think that Koli could easily win the at home prize. He kicked serious weight loss butt.

I love Biggest Loser and Bachelorette!

I also thought Mike was a big ‘ol Mama’s boy in the beginning but he has improved tremendously. Daris is from my part of the country and I kind of thought he and Ashley were “chumy”. But, I want Ashley to win.

There have been quite a few BL couples! Matt & Suzy, Stephanie & Sam, Daniel & Rebecca just to name the ones I can remember. :applause:

I really liked Ally on The Bachelor until she pulled that dramatic I have to go…can I come back routine. Sometimes I think they do that just to get picked for the next season. Hopefully, she will redeem herself this season.

I’m a HUGE Biggest Loser fan! This was the best season just because of how supportive everyone was of each other, minus the red team. I’ll be happy with any of them winning, although I’m cheering for Koli. Dh says I only like Koli because I fell in love with his cousin Sam. :) As much as I like Daris, I just felt as if he didn’t quite have his head in the game. I hope he didn’t go home and sabotage himself. He has such a big heart and so much to offer.

I’d like to see an announcement of Ashley and Mike being together.

I’ve never watched Biggest Loser or many other “reality” shows! Like others here, I don’t get the appeal. But that said, it would be a dull old world if we all liked the same thing! I’m looking forward to The Bachelorette. I checked all the guys out on ABC but only found one that I thought had good possibilities. Wonder what I will think after watching the show tonight? Sadly Dancing With The Stars is ending, love it! I know that is considered a reality show but I’m not quite sure why!! :? Out of the three couples left I can’t pick one as I really like all three. It would be great if Maks & Erin won as most seem to think it will be Evan or Nicole. I love watching the pros, especially the guys on the Latin dances. Yummy!! :applause: :hothot:

Janelle, I’m glad there will be someone besides me watching The Bachelorette!

Hey Janelle, I hope your choice wins. How’s that? I don’t really watch TBL regularly, but what I have seen has been very inspiring.

    Peace and love,

I want Ashley to win. Daris would be my second choice. I think Michael is a negative person and he focused too much on what he had yet to do instead of how far he had come…course this is reality tv so maybe they just slanted it that way.

As far as the “at home” players I want Sunshine to win….or O’Neal her dad. They were my favorite team this year.
