Have you heard about Harlequin’s new “Showcase” program? It’s a new series, featuring reprints from top authors from all of Harlequin’s lines. The very first book is in stores now (Vicki Lewis Thompson!!!) and I am very excited to announce that I have one coming out next month! From what I can tell, some books are 2-in-1 by the same author, some by two different authors. Mine has two of my books in one package…and they’re two of my favorites:

Naturally Naughty, originally published in November of 2002, and Wicked & Willing, originally published in January of 2003.

These books were written back to back and I found it kind of interesting to glance over them today when I got my author copies of the new release. My style is similar, obviously, and the books really do go well together, even though they’re both connected to other books.

Here’s how they looked then:

And here’s the cover of the new 2-in-1:

Pretty different, huh? Very pretty–and the cover is really nice quality, feels different from a standard category book.

In case you haven’t read these books, you can read an excerpt or “Look inside the book” at eHarlequin–where they’re already selling! (They’ll be in regular store at the end of this month.) Pretty cool to have this book, as well as my May Blaze BLAZING BEDTIME STORIES Vol. 5 out at the same time! (To be followed in a little over one month by COLD SIGHT! )

I’m copying a nifty box from eHarlequin with a blurb about the books…as well as a link in case you’d like to order it at 20% off! (Don’t worry, clicking the “Buy” box doesn’t commit you to buy it, just takes you to the book page at eHq!)

Naturally Naughty & Wicked & Willing Naturally Naughty & Wicked & Willing

Two sexy stories from one of Harlequin Blaze’s bestselling authors, Leslie Kelly.
Naturally Naughty
Kate Jones, the girl from the wrong side of the tracks, is home—and she’s got an agenda. To get revenge on the man who humiliated her mother, Kate’s going to seduce that man’s son—the town’s golden boy, John Winfield Jr.—and then leave him drooling in a puddle of lust. Little does she guess when she finds herself seduced by a sexy stranger named Jack that the tables have just been turned….
Wicked & Willing
Venus Messina has seen it all. Growing up in the foster care system, she’s learned how to take care of herself. So when she’s approached by a stranger who claims she’s the long-lost granddaughter of a millionaire, she’s wary. Especially when she meets her “grandfather’s” new business partner, sexy Troy Langtree, and falls in lust at first sight. Troy is starting over—in a new city, in a new job. But once he meets Venus, all he wants is to have his wicked way with her—again and again! And if he’s lucky, Venus will be as bad as she looks….

So, has anybody else heard of this program? Are you excited about getting to read some older category books by some favorite authors? I know I am–and I’m doubly excited that this isn’t my only entry into the Showcase series. My final Temptation novel HER LAST TEMPTATION is coming out next February in a 2-in-1 with Rhonda Nelson! Tres Cool.

Let me know what you think and I’ll choose two random commenters, who will get their choice of one or the other of the original books.

Leslie

LeslieLeslie Kelly used to say she wanted to be a doctor when she grew up, but then she discovered Nancy Drew books. Being a flashlight-under-the-covers-nose-in-book reader throughout her childhood, she couldn’t think of anything else she’d rather do as an adult than continue to lose herself in fictional stories. Her real life marriage of 20 years to the man of her dreams is a constant reinforcement that happily-ever-afters really can happen…and that they’re worth writing about. Living in Maryland, Leslie spends her non-writing time laughing a lot with the above-mentioned romance hero and their three daughters. Though an author of more than thirty sexy, contemporary comedies, she has recently branched out to write dark romantic suspense under the pseudonym Leslie Parrish.

I think it’s a great program! The one downside to these categories is that once they’re gone, its diffiult, if not impossible, to find them again, so I love that they are reissuing them. How exciting for you Leslie!

I hadn’t heard of this, but think its a fantastic idea since it will allow those who found the authors included after the stories were published to find the stories anyway.

I doubt that these will make it down under, but that’s OK with me since I’m getting a Sony Reader this month and can pick up all three stories you’ve mentioned as ebooks.

This is the first I’ve heard about Showcase but I think it’s a great way to put older books into the hands of current readers.

I saw the Showcase books when I was placing my order on eharlequin the other day. I think it is a great idea. I’ve read my copy of Naturally Naughty so many times, I really need to order a backup copy.

I had not heard of this program, but what a great idea. It gives us readers a chance to read books we may have missed the first time around. I’ll have to check it out. Thanks for the heads up.

I hadn’t heard of the program but I think it’s a GREAT idea!! Like Stacy said, the category books can be so hard to find. Sometimes, when you come across a new-to-you author, you want to go back and read everything she’s ever written (like happened with me and all of the Plotmonkeys). But it was hard to find the books – and some I still haven’t.

    WTG Harlequin!

I hadn’t heard about this series. I knew they had done some of the author’s firsts last year. I think it’s great as I didn’t start reading Harlequin until shortly before the change to Blaze from Temptation.

I have BEDTIME STORIES on my Kindle! Yay for autodownloads! It’s next on my list to read and I keep looking at it longingly every time I go to the home page on Kin. I may just breakdown and read it before I finish the current! :reading:

I love the idea of bringing back older titles! Congrats on being “picked.”

I think it’s great to bring back early works by popular authors like you, Leslie. Sometimes backlist titles “get lost” and a lot of us like to read the whole catalog of works by an author. Congratulations on having these books in the spotlight again!

First congrats to Patsy and many thanks to Silver for the chance to read her book Faerie Fate! :flowers4you: Sent an e-mail!
Now for the re-issues, that is great! There are so many books that I have not gotten my hands on and having 2 in 1 makes it even better! I am surprised that I had not heard about this until now… thanks for the heads up! :D

Leslie, I think this line is a great idea. Many times, when I read a “today’s book” by an author, I want to find the backlist. This helps with that search.

NATURALLY NAUGHTY is my all-time fave Blaze. Loved how Jack falls in love, & Kate fights against it all the way. A different take on the norm. (I’ve read parts of this book at least 20X.) Both of your stories in this 2-for-1 are stellar–let’s hope they sell well.

(Jill Shalvis’ companion Blaze, about Kate’s sister, is also very good.)

As I have all of these, please exclude me from the contest

    Patricia

    Good morning…
Leslie, I well remember Wicked & Willing, loved that series of stories! I’m pretty sure that I still have the book but I would have to do some major digging to be sure. It is great that Harlequin is reissuing some of these books as it gives more people a chance to read some of the good stories from talented authors. As you all know I really hated it when they discontinued the Temptation line, seems like maybe they now know they could have continued it with maybe some changes along the way. I hope this will gain you and the other authors some new readers. :monkey:

I love reading and buying reissues when I know that they are repeats that I missed. Great idea!

I do not like it when they change the title and try to sell it as a new book when I’ve already read it and paid for it the first time around.
