For the Bring on the Night teaser, I wanted to show that a certain amount of time had passed since the end of Bad to the Bone and that I was following through on a certain storyline so people wouldn't think it was being put off for several books. I like to read books in a series back to back if I can. Otherwise I forget the storyline and characters and it takes me a while to settle into the new book while I get reacquainted. That's one of the greatest challenges in writing series, too--how to reintroduce the world and catch people up without a boring recap. Jeannette, I know how that is.
