It’s about time!
Janelle Icon

Last week I received a note from Romantic Times asking me to participate in an upcoming article entitled “Where are they now?”, where readers email RT and ask them to they track down authors who haven’t had a book out in a while and find out what they’re up to. After getting this email, I couldn’t decide if this was a good thing, or a bad thing. A bad thing, because it’s been so damn long since I’ve had a book out that readers have asked RT “Where is she now?”, or a good thing because readers are STILL ASKING about me. I decided to view this as a GOOD thing, and it also prompted me to do some updates (Hence the title of this blog “It’s about time!”) — including writing a Dear Reader letter for my website so fans know that there IS more to come from me.

That said, I’d like to share that same Dear Reader letter with you guys, since I’ve received emails from a lot of you asking about what I have coming out next.

Dear Readers~

Over the past year I’ve received so many emails asking when my next book will be out, and if it will be another Wilde story. I have both good news, and bad news to share. We’ll start with the bad news and get that out of the way.

Recently, I switched publishers and I am now with St. Martin’s Press. My editor and I decided that the Wilde series had run its course, so for now, I’ll be saying goodbye to the remaining Wilde characters. BUT, for the good news, I’ve come up with a fresh and exciting new series that promises to be just as hot and sexy as all my other stories, if not more so!

Let me tell you more about my new series and what you have to look forward to. Each story revolves around The Reliance Group — a team of recruited specialists motivated by the thrill of the chase, driven by the adrenaline rush of a challenge, and are willing to take on jobs other agencies won’t touch. They are rebels, rogues, and rule-breakers. The team consists of bad boys and tempting women who possess unorthodox skills and are well-equipped to protect the innocent and serve justice to the guilty. For The Reliance Group, it’s all about the thrill. And in steamy, seductive Las Vegas (where the stories are set), thrills are the name of the game.

What makes this series unique is that the characters aren’t necessarily “straight-up”, and there is a good mix of what they specialize in. There is a con-artist, a Navy Seal, a thief, a psychic, a vice-cop, and a computer hacker. They all have interesting and fun stories to tell, and I can’t wait to share them with you!

The first book is written and headed into production, and I’m currently finishing up the second story. Unfortunately, I don’t have solid dates or titles yet, but hope to have them soon! And when I do, I’ll update my website with the information, along with posting the covers and excerpts as they all become available. Also, be sure to head over to my “Newsletter Page”, and sign up to receive my newsletter, which will be filled with updates on the new series.

I would like to send out a big, huge THANK YOU to all the readers who are still so anxious to read my stories! I can’t tell you how much all your emails have meant to me. I know it’s been a long wait in between books (life has as way of messing with the best of intentions), but I hope this new series makes up for it!

Okay, now that you know what’s going on with me, and you have a new series to look forward to, how do you feel about that? And how do you feel about the end of the Wilde series?

Quick update from Julie: I’m giving away books at the Blaze Blog. Stop by if you want another chance to win before Wednesday!

Janelle

JanelleJanelle Denison finds it hard to believe that it’s been nearly 25 years since she first started writing romance novels. At first, it was a way to pass idle time while her husband worked swing shift, but before long it became an obsession to get published. Luckily, she kept at it (it took her over 5 years to get that first book published!) and is now a Waldenbooks, Barnes & Noble, and USA Today Bestselling author! Now, after selling over 45 plus novels, she finds that her Plotmonkey pals help to keep her stories fresh and unique, and she can’t imagine writing a story without their input. Janelle lives in Oregon with her husband, Don, along with two teenage daughters that keep life interesting.

YAY Janelle!!! I am so excited…love the premise of the new series. The Reliance Group sounds great, and I love the fact that the characters aren’t so straight-laced, if you will. So you are using people who used to do bad things to do good things. I am sure the government does that all the time. I am very ahppy :bananaangel:  about this news. I will pop over to your newsletter page later. I have to go, but I wanted to come by and show you some love here too. I feel like I miss you every Monday because of my schedule. I shouldn’t be writing this now, but I wanted to say hi. I have a big smile on my face. A new Janelle Denison book. I love the Wilde’s, abd I really missed you. Can’t wait!!! Talk to you later…this is wonderful news. If I get back early enough from my basketball game, I will pop back in to check, if not, have a great time chatting with folks today.

    Peace and love,
    Paula R.

Congratulations Janelle on your new book series. I look forward to reading it as I am one of your die hard fans. I have to say though, I am very upset the Wilde series will be ending as I was looking forward to hearing more about Ben’s partners and what the latest baby status etc. was with the Wilde crew. I just reread all the stories recently so today’s post was a little serendipitous. Is there any chance you would revisit the Wilde Crew and Ben’s company partners in the future? I know that sometimes there is no control over whether series continue but I feel kind of hanging with the way things last left off knowing that there were many threads that could be picked up on in other books. Whatever the future holds, thank you for writing books that make me both smile and laugh at the same time and have hope that adversity can be overcome.

Thank you so much for your note, Corrine. It was a very difficult decison to let the Wilde series go, but I do understand why my new publisher wanted something fresh and new. And I do hate the fact that there are about 3 characters who never got their story told as a result of not writing any more of the Wilde books. :hissyfit:

At this point, I don’t see me writing those stories. I’m very sorry! :crying:

I’m definitely sad that the Wilde series is at an end – it would have been nice to know what happened to the rest of the partner’s Joel and Ben, as well as checking in with the Wilde family. However, I can still re-read all the books. As much as I will miss this series, its a good thing that you and your editor didn’t make a decision to force the rest of the stories out to bring it to a conclusion since this comes through to the reader in the writing. (Plus I figure that we never know one of those characters might just demand that their story be told)

Its get to hear that there is a new series in the works though. I look forward to hearing more details about that one as you’re able to give them.

forgot some good news of my own…Amber got accepted into RIT and Alfred and UMASS and…well…all that she applied to…now it’s up to her to decide where she wants to go based on the money given…Alfred gave her the Dean’s Scholarship…48 grand for 4 years of school…plus her pell grant and all her other scholarships she’s won…would end up only having to pay less than one grand a year…so I like that…lmao…plus UMASS will be almost free and it’s right in the back yard…so I like that too…I’ll be ready to puke until she decides.. will keep you updated….. (Her 4.20 GPA came in handy…plus the 690 and 650 on the two main parts of the SATS didn’t hurt either…rolmfao)
