I am so not a football fan but over the years I am exposed to the game and teams.
I am rooting for the Saints!!!!! All the way, Baby!
Why? Ironically, the reason is part of your question. I read Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches. She wrote of diverse and rich New Orleans, specifically the garden district. To this day, I still have the image of the house and the district. It made a lasting impression on me.
Every time I think of New Orleans, or anything to do with the city, I think of Anne Rice's descriptions.
I would LOVE to visit and see with my own eyes. But I worry that the real thing wouldn't live up to my image.
Anyway, thanks for giving me the chance to enter in the contest.

:waving:  geez, not many on here are behind the Colts but I am! Frankly, I'd be behind Peyton Manning no matter which NFL team he was on. The guy is total CLASS in this day and age when sports stars are embroiled in scandal & controversy. I also am a Tennessee Volunteer fan so another reason to back him. I went to his first ever NFL game vs Seahawks here in Seattle too.

:reading: My all-time preference for setting of books is Historical times in Ireland, England, Scotland & American Revolution America but that doesn't say if the book is contemporary and is written by one of my favorite writers, no matter where the story takes place, I will still get it to read.

 hope everyone on the east coast keeps warm & safe this weekend in the snow storm

I think we're rooting for the Saints, just because they haven't won the BIG GAME recently, but we don't have a strong affiliation with either city. As for city settings, I think it's fun to read stories set where I know the city a little and it's like a chance to revisit through the characters. I like the City by the Bay, San Francisco, for that reason :) On the other hand, it's just as much fun for me to "visit" new-to-me cities, so, I'm not picky!

I'm not a football fan so I'm not rooting for anyone. However, other people in the house will be watching it so I'm sure I'll see pieces of the game. I take the best naps during football games and immediately fall asleep the minute the game comes on. I do like seeing the halftime show but that's all I'm interested in.

I don't know if I really have a favorite city for a book setting but I'm not a big fan of books set in New Orleans. Depending on the story line, some of them are okay but usually I don't enjoy them as much.

I don't like football very much so I don't really care who wins. I love books set in New Orleans and Houston honestly pretty much anywhere.

I love books with foreign settings. If I had to pick a favorite, I'd say Paris, with Venice close behind.

Well, my team didn't get in either...the Packers...but I do LOVE the Saints!!!

My favorite settings for books; I love small town settings, but I also do love stories set in New Orleans...I had the chance to visit there about fifteen years ago and I totally fell in love. One of my best friends lives in Houma, LA. Just the history enthralls me!!!! I was devastated when Katrina hit as I knew how many beautiful things were destroyed.....

Hugs,
Michelle
