Carly Phillips would like to take 100% credit for all her stories but the truth is, Carly’s strength is writing family, emotion, funky elderly people and animals. She couldn’t plot her way out of a paper bag, which is why she smartly found her plotmonkey pals early on in her writing career. Thanks to their support, Carly is now a NYT Bestselling author of 23 plus novels. Because writing doesn’t keep her busy enough, Carly is also a wife, a mother of one preteen and one teenage daughter, the primary care giver of her soft coated Wheaten terrier and an expert carpool mom.

I would love to see New York for the holidays. It looks so amazing.
A couple of weeks ago I won a Amazon gift card from the Plotmonkeys. I used it to get the first book in Leslie’s Black Cat series. The book was so good! I couldn’t put it down. The bad person was a real surprise. This book was so good if you haven’t read it yet your missing out!

I would love to go to New York one year for Christmas. My sister and her husband went to New York a couple of weeks ago and loved it. I went to New York when I was in high school, but haven’t been back yet.

Hey Les, I hope that you are having a blast in NYC for Xmas. I lived there for long enough to know how beautiful it is, but you know what? I never did the touristy (sp?) thing. It was always too crowded. To be perfectly honest, I never even went to the lighting of the tree or saw people skate at Rockerfeller Center. I hope to do that one day. I think experiencing Christmas there as an adult will be wild. Enjoy your time there, be careful and soak up a lot of that holiday spirit for the rest of us okay.
Peace and love,
Paula R.

Hey guys, just checking in from the (pricy) Internet connection in the hotel lobby. So far, so good, all is fabulous. A few hiccups–our first train was canceled yesterday so we did a bit of sweating. But we made it.
We went to see Next To Normal last night–AMAZING show. We all just loved it every bit as much as we thought we would.
Now we’re off to do the touristy sightseeing thing.
Hope everyone’s having a wonderful holiday season!

Hey Les, glad you made it there safely. Definitely take pics of everything so that we can live vicariously through you okay. I am actually going to be in NYC this Christmas as well, to see my family. Rockerfeller Center is a blast, as seen on television, but it is best to go at night.
Peace and love,
Paula R.

Never been to New York at the holidays. Only been through there once when I was around 15 or so.
It always looks so pretty on tv and in the movies. (lol inside joke to myself)
We finally put up the :bigtree: last night. My 9 yr old put it together while I was at the nail shop. He did it last year too. What a man of the house. DH could take some lessons from him.
Have a great day everyone. I will be braving the stores after work and eye doctors. *sigh* Kinda tired of these long days.

I was there two weeks ago. It’s so beautiful and gets you in the holiday mood. But I could never live there.

Merry Christmas! I lived in NY state for 18 years and barely ever went to the city… I think I am the only one in my family that did not go to the city for Christmastime… :bigxmas: :ccane:

:bigxmas: Leslie, I hope you and the family are enjoying your Christmas trip to NYC. I’m sure the decorations are spectacular.
I’ve never been to NYC. I’m not sure I am cut out for the east in winter! It looks lovely but cold!
:meepcold: :SmallSanta: Dreaming about a white Christmas & experiencing it are two different things. The year I spent Christmas in Colorado with my daughter & her family there was no snow but it was cold! Brrr! Christmas in my part of the world is likely to sunny & in the 60’s or if Mother Nature is being unkind it rains (usually when the kids get new bikes!). :santalights: :wreath: :ccane:
I need to go get myself into busy mode as I have lots to do. My Christmas is tomorrow!! Yikes, I still have baking, wrapping & cooking! That also means clean up and no goofing off.

As for NYC during Christmas… yes unfortunately :X My entire [immediate] family got sick… and I have a lot of extended family there and it was all just… random. Hectic. We never did that again

Yes I have 2 yrs ago. The stores and streets were decorated beautifully. It was nice seeing the tree. But it was freezing cold; we did the bus tour of downtown. Don’t like the crowds tho’ but you have to make sacrifices. LOL.

No I haven’t but I bet it’s beautiful and I would love to see it.

We didn’t go in this year to see the tree but have in the past. You need to go to Time Square and the Toys R Us store and ride the ferris wheel, it’s so much fun. Have a safe & fun trip.
