I have a new addiction. I’ve tried telling myself that it’s fiber so it’s OK but I know that can’t be true. There are things like sugar that’s NOT healthy. And the calories – 190 for just 1 of these things … that’s not good. Especially since you have to open a silver wrapper that leaves you with 2 of them. And of course if you eat 1, there’s another 1 that’s left to get stale if you don’t either a) put it in a ziploc; or b) eat it. Because if you just put it back in the box, it’ll still get stale.
So what would you do?
That’s right, eat it. Make that 380 calories. But they are soooo good. Does that make it worth it?

click photo for full nutritional information if you’re curious!
And feel free to comment on your opinion of it’s real nutritional value?
So tell me, what’s your newest “addiction”?

For awhile I was “addicted” to eating healthy. I’d have fruit for breakfast, a salad for lunch, and something more substantial for dinner – grilled chicken and rice or something. But I have to admit, it got old after a few months. I still struggle to eat healthier – turkey bacon instead of the real thing, scrambled eggs w/o cheese. Things that have more flavor.
Right now, for better or worse, I’m addicted to fish tacos. Strange addiction, but it is what it is. Wish I were addicted to apples instead, but they’re not quite a filling *g*

Hubby loves fish tacos too. ick.
I love my Nutella. I have it on an english muffin almost every morning. Even brought it camping with us last weekend. I feel lost if i don’t have it.
Must be the chocolate????

Well this is a bit odd but… the food I can’t stop thinking about right now is French Onion soup. The food I can’t seem to stop eating even though I reallllly should, is peanut butter. I tell myself that the soup has onions in it and onions are good for you. And peanut butter has protein, *ahem*, that’s my story and I am sticking to it.
Comment
I love the fiber one mocha bars. Those are very tasty. And peanut butter has the good fat in it. I’m sure we are only to eat it in moderation.
Comment
Oh it’s the good fat? That’s good news
It’s my breakfast treat on toast, I can’t imagine starting the day without it. Yum yum!

Back in July I started a diet thru my doctor I cut calories down to 700-900 a day and only 20 carbs so it has been inteesting to see what I can eat. I found these Jimmy dean frozen omlets easy for breakfast jello and whip cream for a snack sometimes I’ll eat some strawberries and cool whip (strawberries is one of the fruits with lower carbs.) but my absolute fav is Bryers Carb Smart Ice creme bars they have a vanilla ice cream with a hard chocolate coating 170 cal 9 g of carbs only 5 net carbs. and they taste really good there is also one with chopped nuts in the chololate that one is 180 calories. It curbs my sweet tooth. I’ve dropped 33 lbs.

We love the Fiber One bars. It’s a good way to sneak it into my daughter’s diet when it tastes good.

I love the Fiber One chocolate toasters too. However, on Weight Watchers one has 3 points and isn’t as filling as I need in the mornings(2 have 7 points, which I really don’t understand). I do eat the Fiber One yogurt almost everyday now.
I’m addicted to guacamole right now. I can have 1/4 cup and it is only 2 points. I eat so many low-fat foods, I don’t worry about having my guacamole every once in a while with my baked chips. I’ve had to change all of my eating habits because of Weight Watchers. However, it seems to be working and is much easier than I thought it would be. Plus I’ve lost 16 pounds so far in about 8 weeks.
Stacy-I love fish tacos too.

Love fish tacos…I just started WW again (I was a lifetime member when I was a kid, but now that I am an adult, after three kids, well, I need it again). I love it. So far, after one week, I have lost 4 pounds and I am not eating all I should…ack. I saw that these are 3 points…they’d have to be a splurge….even though I always have points left over.
Now, I am off to dream of these toaster pastries…yummy!

They know they have you with the 2 bars. LOL. I tried the link for romancjunkies, dont see any link for the blog.

Thankfully, I don’t have addictions
But during pms, i will need my twix-fix :)

If it helps, the calories are about the same as for regular Pop Tarts, so unless there’s a whole lot of difference in the ingredients, it’s the same product.
Comment
That was kind of my assessment too….but I didn’t want to burst Carly’s bubble. They’ve put a new spin on an old product.

I tried those Fiber One things in some non-chocolate flavor; the icing was so thick and nasty that I scraped it off. Must’ve been 1/4″.
Kellogg’s made some terrific (and way lower sugar) All Bran Rolled Wafers. They were like Pirouette cookies with fiber and were terrific. So of course, they discontinued them as soon as I discovered them. (Boo, Kellogg’s)
As for cravings: 70%+ chocolate, 2 squares every single day. Plus everything mentioned above except fish tacos.

I’m really into Orange Chicken with rice right now!
I have to add lots of sweet n sour sauce over it! It so bad for me but ohh so good! If I did know better I’d swear I was having pregnancy cravings! The only thing I can think of is my lil’ sister is pregnant and since we are so close i am having sympathy craving!
Weird, HUH???

I also have to have my Blue Bunny Chocolate Drumstick topped with cookie crumble. Totally sinful!
I have also found the Fiber One bars- oats and chocolate…yum and Special K vanilla crisp cereal bars…double yum! I snack on one of those if I get a ping in my tummy late at night! Not to many calories but satisfies my ping!
P.S. I tried to find your blg on Romance Junkie, am I missing something???

I’m addicted to fruit and rye bread toast in the morning with my 3 cups of hot tea.
I just got back from having my annual mammogram. For those who haven’t made their appointment yet what are you waiting for!
I also went to my doctor. I have a sinus infection. Blech! We had 4 inches of snow yesterday.
I clicked on the link above and it takes me to the web site but there is no blog.
Have a great day all,

I clicked it too! No Blog! I just thought it was me!

I’ve taken to reading the nutritional information. What’s touted as healthy on the front doesn’t always translate on the side. When two cookies and an apple are healthier than a health bar…I’m goin’ for the cookies. Just sayin’!
Comment
I don’t know what’s wrong with me but lately its Nutter Butter cookies. I know what’s in them, but I can’t help myself. Your Fiber One bars reminds me of my former addiction to the Snackwell low fat cookies. They used to make this little chocolate marshmellow covered one and I’d eat the whole box. I can’t find them anymore so I assume they quite making them.

Hi Carly,
My favorite addiction in warm weather, Trader Joe’s Coffee Blast ice cream. The really bad for you ice cream, fat, sugar & tastes wonderful!! Since Trader Joe’s is a few miles away I don’t always have access to it. Good thing!
It is scrumptious yummy!! Yes, it is that good!!
So sad so much of the yummy stuff is so bad for us. I like to eat healthy but I also like to indulge.
I tried the link to Romance Junkies but it is still not working. Too bad!
By the way, I am reading Lucky Break which I am throughly enjoying. I can’t wait to see how it all ends. Jason is just yummy!

Hey Carly, all I can say is…if you like it and you feel like it is good enough for you, go for it. I know, not very sage advice, but I got nothing. I usually just eat whatever I want. To keep the weight down, I play as much basketball as possible, but it doesn’t always work for me. I just wanted to say hello to everyone. I will check out the romance junkies link, and see if it works for me. If yes, I will pop back here and tell you; if not, I will let you know. Have a great rest of the day everyone. I am so exhausted. We have 6 confirmed cases of H1N1 here at the school now, and I am getting very worried about it. Anyone else affected by it yet?
Peace and love,
Paula R.

Carly, I can’t find your blog either.
I am addicted to the Pringles whole wheat pizza bread sticks… yummy snack. I need to start eating healthy though.

My newest addiction, which fortunately is beginning to wane, is McDonald’s Angus Burgers. I’m not a big hamburger person, but every once in a while I just need MEAT. And lately, the Angus burgers have been hitting the spot.
It’s been about two months though, and i think I’m getting over it now.

wish I could find a new fav cheat, I’m not into anything right now.
Can’t see that blog either.

Add me to the ” love fish tacos ” list! No new faves, just the same old one:
CHOCOLATE!
Fiber is great in moderation (like all things!) but I’ve heard that there is a
rather unappealing side effect of consuming too much of it! That ‘s all I’m
going to say!

I must ask … what in the world are FISH TACOS? Just the obvious?

Those toaster pastries look about as nutritious as a piece of cardboard.
Nutella and peanut butter sandwich! Yumm, like a giant Reese Cup.

I love their Oats & Chocolate bars with only 140 calories 4 grams of fat so this other half I would have to put in a baggie for later and stick with my Fiber One bars :)
