Julie’s Jungle Madness: A vacation from my vacation
Julie Icon

Ever get back from a trip more exhausted than before you left? Yeah, I thought so.

Today, I’m giving away a $20 gift card from Amazon, B&N or Borders.com. Your choice!

Julie Leto

JulieBy all reports, Julie Leto was a sweet child once, somewhat shy, preferring to play quietly in her room making up stories. However, being raised with three brothers in a loud, primarily Italian household did have its influences and Julie discovered her inner tough girl. That’s probably why most of her heroines kick serious butt. Writing sassy heroines has worked out, as she’s sold nearly thirty books to three publishers featuring strong, confident women. Julie lives in Florida with her husband, daughter, spoiled dachshund, enormous guinea pig and a wide range of relatives all within driving distance.

One of the reasons I’m happy to come home after a vacation is that I NEED to rest !! Vacations with DH and the kids are incredibly hard for my health ;-)

Sometimes it’s nice just to stay home on vacations and relax. Going somewhere can be stressful, though I’d risk it to go somewhere warm right now!

    Have a great weekend :)

I could always use a book g.c. Happy weekend to all.

It is freezing here – 40 degrees and in a few wks we will be going up to Albany area to visit my cousin and we will freeze our little hineys off. BRRRR and winter hasn’t even started.

And yes, an extra day off is always nice when coming back from vacation.

:snoopy: :readbook2: You are right…I always try to leave a day or two to recover from a vacation. Wish I could have one now…we actually had SNOW when I got up this morning. Thank goodness it melted quickly but it is mighty brisk. Hope you can catch up on some rest now that you are back home.

    Oh Lord yes!!!!
When we went on vacation this past summer, I was so damn tired!
We went to Wisconsin Dells, and we went camping. But the week before we went on vacation, our 11 month old puppy died. So I spent almost the entire vacation making sure my daughter wasn’t thinking about it. So I was so tired from that. And then when we got home, I was exhausted from putting all of the camping crap away!! I just wanted to go away to a spa! LOL!!
    Have a great weekend everyone!!!!
    Hugs,
    Michelle

Ooh, I would love to have an Amazon gift card- especially with Christmas right around the corner. While I definitely love vacations, it sucks to come home feeling exhausted. It doesn’t make much sense when you have a somewhat relaxing vacation and you come home and need to rest. You should be able to come home feeling completely relaxed/refreshed.

That just means that you had a really amazing and fun time on your vacation. It has been so long since I have had a vacation that I do not remember if I come home tired or not.

I do think that it just seems logical to come home more tired because you spend so much time enjoying yourself that you do, do, and do some more. So, when you get home you are ready for a vacation.

I’ve come back from vacations more exhausted than when I went too – I think there’s a tendency to try and pack more activity into a vacation than if you were to spend that time at home.

Bookstore gift cards are always great.

That happens so much for me too! I’d decide to stay home instead and rest and end up doing so much around the house that I’d go back to work exhausted. So we need a vacation from a vacation!!! Rest this weekend! Love to be in the contest Thanks!
