Lisa, what a great story! I'm praying for Harry! Bailey is lost without Buddy too. When he goes to the vet without her she cries until he comes home. I can only imagine what you are going through. Good luck and BIG HUGS! :grouphug:

Our household consist of five humans, three who come and go through the make-believe, revolving front door that I didn't know exited until they all turned 18! We have 3 non-humans :dogrun: :dogrun: :dogrun: , two in-doors/ one out-doors: Harry, Wally and April.
It's been a sad weekend at our house. Our "Old Man" (that's what we call him) Harry, our 14-15ish year old pointer mix, got very sick on Saturday. Rushing him in to the Vet after-hours, all I could think was maybe this was it. Not many big dogs live to be that age and since he chose our house to come to live at 13 years ago we can only guess his age. Driving him there all I could think about was when he first came to live with us. We had 3 dogs already at our house when he showed up. The neighbors weren't happy with us choosing to have a stray dog to stay with us, but with one look at his happy face our hearts melted. For a week, we pondered a name for him trying everything in the book to call him. This dog was amazing, he could do everything: play frisbie, catch, fetch newspapers ( the whole neighborhood's at times which did not make us very popular :fainting: ) plus he was fixed! :D One night my husband was out playing with him as I came out. He started calling out random names trying to give this stray a name. Suddenly he called out the name "Harry" the dog went nuts, jumping up and down and turning in circles. He said," Boy, is your name Harry?" He jumped up on him and licked his face. From that point on he was "Harry." We said we had the only dog who chose his name.
Well here it is Monday and we still wait to bring out Harry home. :crying: We know he's better, his fever has broke and he can keep food down. April, my Boston, is lost without her big brother. I sound like I'm talking about one of my children, but somehow animals do become just that. Around here, they aren't animals but our babies. They share our laps, our beds and our hearts.
So everyone please say a little prayer :praying: for our Harry cuz I not ready to let go just yet and I don't think he is either!

Go Broncos but they need to take those uniforms and burn them or lock them up and throw away the key. There was a reason they didn't keep them. They have suprised me this season I've been depresses ever since Elway's retirement lol

As for the fuzzypups, Boone remains the patient big brother while Cooper (ever-growing--he's 3 1/2 months 45+ lbs and about 18" at the shoulder) uses him for a chew toy. Adidas hasn't had to use claws yet, though she has taught Cooper the manly art of boxing. As a result, she remains the one cat who rules us all. I need to get back on twitter and post more fuzzybutt pics.

Hey Carly, the dogs have gotten really big. I almost didn't see your face...good thing you waved. Awesome pic btw...I will drop in to see you. Is EDT and EST the same thing?...colour me stupid sometimes...if it is, I will be able to chat while I try to catch up on Castle. I will hop over to Rom Con after I am done here.

Janelle, I hope that you are having a blast with the fam. See you later.

Peace and love,
Paula R.

No pets for me so no problems with them aging or not training properly. That said, I have done it all in the past. My dad & mom had a lab that was the family dog & my dad hunted so the lab was also a hunter. Anyway, she got really old with some health problems & my dad just couldn't seem to take her to have her put to sleep. At the time I was married so we conspired with mom to go get her one day when they were both out for the day & had her taken care of. I didn't mind as I wasn't living at home & I hated seeing her suffer. My dad had no idea we had done this but that night Mom said he didn't go out to feed her. Intuition? :boohoo: It is hard to know when it is time to be humane with the fur babies. ((((Hugs)))) to those with aging or ailing pets.

Carly glad your two dogs are doing well. They are so cute. :dog:

By the way, my team (49'ers) sucked big time yesterday. They were wiped on the field couldn't seem to do anything right. :( :*&#!: :boohoo:
