Thursday’s Blog
Carly Icon

Yep, I said it. Thursday’s Blog. Maybe the brain is still fried from National last week, but I can’t think of a single brilliant thing to say! Like the rest of the Plotmonkeys, I’ll say the best part of the conference was hanging out with my best friends. And I hope part of what makes this blog unique is the fact that we aren’t four writers who got together to promote and therefore put up a blog. We’re four best friends who are in this business together, who saw a blog as a means of sharing our love of books and the ups and downs of publishing, with the world. I’m proud of the community we’ve established here. We might not be the biggest or the most well known, but I like to think we’re the warmest. So  to us! And to YOU, the people who visit every day, the ones who post and the ones who don’t.

THANK YOU for making Plotmonkeys unique! We’re lucky and we know it, something we discuss year after year when the four of us get together.

Like I said, nothing brilliant, just speaking from the heart. And now I am off to bed, so I can stick to my morning routine of meeting up with Janelle over IM (and now I hope Julie and Les) and get the last 100 pages of this book to bed. I should have titles and cover concepts to show you all fairly soon. Nothing definite yet, but it’s in the works!

Happy Wednesday!

Carly

CarlyCarly Phillips would like to take 100% credit for all her stories but the truth is, Carly’s strength is writing family, emotion, funky elderly people and animals. She couldn’t plot her way out of a paper bag, which is why she smartly found her plotmonkey pals early on in her writing career. Thanks to their support, Carly is now a NYT Bestselling author of 23 plus novels. Because writing doesn’t keep her busy enough, Carly is also a wife, a mother of one preteen and one teenage daughter, the primary care giver of her soft coated Wheaten terrier and an expert carpool mom.

I know I love coming here because you guys really appreciate your fans, and have something interesting to say everyday. And the people who visit here are great too, friendly and caring. It’s a wonderful start to my day, popping in to see what the Plotmonkeys are up to, as well as everyone else. I don’t get much of a chance to stop by during the day, so I miss out on a lot of the comraderie, but I always know I’ll be welcome, and that’s a great feeling LOL. You guys seriously rock!

This blog is like its own little friendly community & a place where everybody is welcome. I feel like I actually know you ladies because you reveal bits and pieces of yourselves to everyone who stops by – which actually makes reading your books that much more enjoyable. And the followers are wonderful too! I feel so connected to these people spread out across the states (and a few beyond…??)

My morning routine would not be complete without the Plotmonkeys! :applause:

When I get really busy and don’t have a chance to stop by, I feel like I’ve missed my morning coffee with friends.

Good luck on finishing those last 100 pages!! Hope it’s a great day for everyone!

    Hey everybody,

Carly, I just knew that the title you chose today would be that one…lol…

I absolutely love coming to the jungle. It is so much fun here. I also feel like I know you guys, and people here are so nice. All of you guys enable me to open that window to the real me everyday. I have to drop by everyday so that I can reset for the day. Thank you all for inviting us into your lives.

I hope you got some rest. Good luck with the 100 pages. Tell the other wonderful :monkey: :monkey: :monkey: I said hello. I love you guys.

    Peace and love,
    Paula R.

I love this place. To me it is not just a blog, it is an actual place I visit every day. Ya’ll used to be my only stop, now you are my fist stop.

I find myself here several times a day, stopping by to see what other people are up to.

Ya’ll are warm, inviting, and more like a new branch of the family, than anything.

    Have a Great Thursday!

I am slowly swimming out of the fog(?)…hangover(?) from Nationals. I hated the spotty internet and not being able to check in here and the other blogs I frequent every day. Last night, I FINALLY caught up on all the posts, even if I didn’t comment. This was the second blog I ever visited. (The first was SBTB which brought me here!) The four of you are warm and welcoming and terrific writers to boot! Your fans are amazing and I consider several to be real-life friends and others on-line friends. What a wonderful community!

I love swinging in the Jungle everyday. It’s part of my routine and I always look forward to it. I have the deepest respect for all of you–not to mention sheer awe–at all that the four of you have accomplished. You amaze me! You’re so lucky to have found each other. You open your hearts to us every day and always in such a meaningful way. I’m so glad I bid on that lunch and plotting session on Brenda Novak’s auction. Otherwise I wouldn’t have gotten to know what special people you all are. :bananaangel:

    Take care,

    Cher

:monkey: :monkey: :monkey: :monkey: :yourock Thursday’s Blog works for me! Like most everyone else had said this is such a wonderful place to visit each day. All four of you are warm and welcoming making us glad you are included in our day. If I don’t get to stop by I feel I am missing something. You each bring something different which keeps it interesting. Thanks for sharing what it is like to become a published author and then keep that career going. Also thanks for sharing some of your personal life with us. I love how the Internet has let me come to “know” some of my favorite authors. :flowers4you:

Also I have come to look forward to “seeing” others that visit here and comment. I enjoy reading all the comments each and every day. :waving: :threecheers
