Hubby and I celebrated our 20th Anniversary yesterday. Technically we’ve been together 25 years if you count the time before we were married. I wish I could say we had a fantastic day or a real celebration, but as it happens, life got in the way. He’s laid up with a herniated disc in his back. He can lay down or sit. Anything in between including getting into either position is very painful. We’re waiting for MRI results. In the meantime, in a klutzy move, I was rushing down a long flight of stairs to walk both dogs and next thing I knew I was flying to the bottom. Landed on my bottom too. Suffice it to say I have a bruise that’s ugly and huge. Added to it just not being the year of spending for any of us, we aren’t planning a special trip or anything to mark the occasion. We’ll have to save it for another year.
But the good news is, we celebrated our 20th anniversary and I can’t think of anything better than that!
So I’ve been a little stressed, trying to work daily on my book, and get ready for RWA National in 2 weeks. Forgive me if I don’t have a long post!
Putting on my “author hat” – I’ve been overhauling all the places I’m present on the web!
So please visit and sign up for my new Carly Phillips Fan Page on Facebook! It may not look like much now, but I promise to get it going soon.

Carly Phillips would like to take 100% credit for all her stories but the truth is, Carly’s strength is writing family, emotion, funky elderly people and animals. She couldn’t plot her way out of a paper bag, which is why she smartly found her plotmonkey pals early on in her writing career. Thanks to their support, Carly is now a NYT Bestselling author of 23 plus novels. Because writing doesn’t keep her busy enough, Carly is also a wife, a mother of one preteen and one teenage daughter, the primary care giver of her soft coated Wheaten terrier and an expert carpool mom.

Sorry to hear you guys are having a not so perfect anniversary. However, 20 years is something to celebrate and I am sure you will find a way at some point.
Daughter and I are off to NYC to see Rock of Ages tonite and home again tomorrow. Then Def Leppard tomorrow nite in what will probably be rain since its the only thing it seems to be doing around here. She heads back to LA on Saturday. I will need another vacation once she leaves so life can get back to normal. Or what passes for it.
Keep us posted on the MRI and I hope he feels better soon! And watch those dogs on the steps. They can be tricky.

Despite neither of you feeling your best 20 years of marriage is a wonderful thing. Celebrate later when you are both better. My daughter & her husband celebrated 20 last year, could not believe they already reached that milestone!! Time flies. When you are up to it:
I like the new look on your website but have not yet found time to explore there. Will do soon. I’ve already friended you on Facebook.
