That Time Of The Year
Janelle Icon

My apologies ahead of time.  Today’s blog is going to be very short . . . and sour (not sweet, because of the topic!).  Usually I write my Monday posts on the weekend, but I spent Saturday and all day Sunday (It’s Sunday evening as I write this) working on my TAXES.  And I’m still NOT done!  :fryingpan:  That’s the SOUR part – - who enjoys gathering all their tax data together from the previous years?   :yuk: And considering April 15th is only 17 days away, I’ve really waited to the last minute to get this done.   I have my personal taxes, then corporate taxes, too — that’s the part that takes so long and is so much work to put together.  Especially since I didn’t keep up with everything on a month to month basis last year!  So, back to work on my taxes so I can get them to my account by Tuesday!  :whip:

taxes-due

So, how many of you have already done your taxes?  And how many are doing it last minute like me?  :doh1:

Janelle

JanelleJanelle Denison finds it hard to believe that it’s been nearly 25 years since she first started writing romance novels. At first, it was a way to pass idle time while her husband worked swing shift, but before long it became an obsession to get published. Luckily, she kept at it (it took her over 5 years to get that first book published!) and is now a Waldenbooks, Barnes & Noble, and USA Today Bestselling author! Now, after selling over 45 plus novels, she finds that her Plotmonkey pals help to keep her stories fresh and unique, and she can’t imagine writing a story without their input. Janelle lives in Oregon with her husband, Don, along with two teenage daughters that keep life interesting.

Every year I intend to do them early and every year I procrastinate. I don’t know why, but I do. So that is my project for next weekend.

Since we have three kids to claim and usually get a nice return, we do them as early as possible. I don’t do them myself however–I simply don’t trust myself not to screm them up. :hairpull:

Kudos to you though for being such a brave woman! :applause:

I still have to re submit my mothers she just bought a house and so you can’t electrically fill until 6:00pm tonight they are ready to go just have to hit hte button. I will be glad when they are all done. With this big wedding this weekend I don’t think I could deal with anything else I hope all goes well this weekend. Wish me luck I will need it.
Again good luck with the taxes.

Did mine in March and had my refund back in 7 days….love e-filing! Love my MS Money software that helps me keep track of all taxable & deductible items. Every cent spent or received is posted for future reference. My Tax Info file helps too!

Janelle…you also have state taxes (my hubby is a CPA and he does our taxes, although, I am sure that he actually hasn’t done them….sort of like the cobbler’s kids have no shoes!).

Good luck, everyone…..hang in there….my brain doesn’t work that way. I let hubby figure it out (we also have to pay taxes in states where they have offices, :groan: ).

My biggest complain is that my ‘job” is listed federally as house wife. I am not married to my house. Frankly, I am a MOM. :wallbanger:

    Happy Monday everyone!

    Taxes

Hubby and I spent a whole Sunday a couple of weeks ago devoted to fun. It is the only time of the year went I actually consider divorce. But we came through the process with mininial scraps and brusies. The paperwork is done but the check won’t get mailed until the fifteenth.

I guess it back to work, so that I can save up money for next year’s taxes. :taz:

Congrats to everyone who is getting a REFUND! It’s always nice to get a check in the mail, rather than having to MAIL OFF a check! :yuk:

Katie — I’m used to paying State taxes. We did that in California, too. Oh, and last year’s taxes are split between California and Oregon, so that’s another UGH as far as putting everything together! :doh1:

Katie – I knew a woman once who put her job title down as “Domestic Engineer” I don’t if she actually filed her taxes that way or not, but when she filled out other forms that’s what she put.

Funny that this was today’s topic because I’ve been working on our taxes all morning. I decided to treat myself to a reward for working so hard on them and blog hop for a few minutes.

Unfortunately, we aren’t one of the lucky ones who get checks back. I’m sure that’s the reason I put it off. I get so angry doing them that I fear for my health. Okay, back to the pile of papers.

Good luck to everyone else working on them too!!

Don’t hate me but my taxes were done in January. :hide: I always get them out of the way as soon as our W2′s come. I try to beat the last minute rush.

Hubby usually waits until the last minute too. However, I had to have them for financial aid for school so he had to do them as soon as he could. So they are done.

However, whether he or not he mailed them out yet is another story.

My taxes were done online in February. Both federal & state refunds have been deposited in my account. I just love being able to do that all online! This is probably the last time I will ever get a refun! Such is life when one retires!!

:aprilfools: One more day, after today!!

I filed my taxes two weeks ago – a month after I promised myself I would have them in. I usually do them within the first two weeks of February as long as I have all the paperwork I need.

The tax year has just finished here in NZ. It will be a couple of months before the tax department has all the details in from employers, but I’m pretty sure that I’m due a small refund – plus I know I have overpaid my student loan again.
