Who Will He Choose?
Janelle Icon

Most of you who’ve been reading this blog for some time know that I have my favorite Reality TV shows.  I love The Biggest Loser, I just watched Fear is Real, I’m already getting into American Idol and picking out my favorites, and I can’t wait for the next season of America’s Top Model to begin (only two more weeks to wait!).  But right now, I’m hooked on The jason_mesnickBachelor.  It doesn’t matter that previous bachelors/bachelorettes have proven that they rarely stay together for long after the show, I get hooked in every single time!  This season I was so excited to see single dad Jason Mesnick as The Bachelor.

Those of you who follow the show know that last season Jason was one of the two Bachelors left at the end, and he was the one who was rejected by The Bachelorette, DeAnna Pappas.  I honestly thought that DeAnna was going to choose Jason, but alas, she went with the guy who she found more “exciting” than “stable”.  And three short months later she broke up with Jessie Csincsak.  She should have choosen Jason, I tell you!

But if she had, Jason wouldn’t have been this season’s Bachelor, and once he weeded out the wothe-bachelor-jason-mesnick-and-melissamen who were blatant back-stabbers he had a lot of nice girls to choose from.  In fact, with the final three standing last week, I had no idea who he was going to eliminate because I truly liked them all.  I thought, if anyone, he’d let Molly go, but instead he let Jillian go — and she was my top favorite.  Judging by everything we saw on camera, those two looked like they were perfect for one another (editing in these shows, I’ve learned, can be SO deceiving!!!).

So now we’re down to Molly and Melissa — and I think it could go either way.  I genuinely like both girls, but I’m not the one whothe-bachelor-jason-and-molly has to have a relationship with them, so who knows which one will get the rose.  Then there are rampant rumors on the internet about the “shocking conclusion” of this season’s Bachelor, which leads you to believe that even after the final rose is given out, there’s more drama to come.  And I, personally, can’t wait for it all, LOL!!!

If you’d like to read about those “Spoilers” and what is going to be so shocking, here’s one bloggers idea of what’s going to go down that will have viewers gasping in stunned disbelief!  I didn’t want to post it here, since there are some of you who probably want to see everything as it unfolds, but this is definitely an interesting point of view of what might happen.  CLICK HERE.

So, if you’re a fan of The Bachelor, who are you rooting for to get the final rose?  And if you’ve heard about those “rumors” of a shocking ending (don’t they claim that all The Bachelor’s have “shocking endings”?), what do you think is going to happen?

At first, it was a way to pass idle time while her husband worked swing shift, but before long it became an obsession to get published. Luckily, she kept at it (it took her over 5 years to get that first book published!) and is now a Waldenbooks, Barnes & Noble, and USA Today Bestselling author! Now, after selling over 45 plus novels, she finds that her Plotmonkey pals help to keep her stories fresh and unique, and she can’t imagine writing a story without their input. Janelle I am one of those suckers too I love the bachelor and I think Jason is hot. I was hoping that him and Melissa get together but I was figuring that he would pick Molly and she is okay too but for some reason I have been drawn to Melissa. I keep wondering what is going to happen with DeAnna I was thinking that at the end he will pick her and dump the rest of them. I don’t like the show they do tonight where they just talk with the ones that have been dumped. Can’t wait for the end.
I do watch the Biggest Loser too it is neat to see how much they go through.

Not that much into the bachelor. I kind of got bored the first couple of times when I would watch the first make my choice and wait until the last one and find out I was right. I did that a few times and it lost its appeal to me, especially since I was never really shocked by things that happened along the way.

Not a huge fan of Idol either and haven’t been impressed by anyone of the finalists since Kelly Clarkson, who I still think was a plant to get the show started. Now, it’s not about the talent as much as it is about the banter of the judges….. I preferred all those shows where there were all the talent was good and there wasn’t a guaranteed contract at the end of the show because it was, after all, just a competition.

OK, I’ve said before I don’t watch the reality shows for 2 reasons. One, I’m an end-reader of books and there’s just no way I can see the ending first with reality shows. Second, I can’t stand to see people messed with, or made fun of or hurt, or any of that stuff.

I don’t want to give anything away about the link you posted. But I’ll say this..I’m so glad I don’t watch reality shows! :giggler

    Have a great week, everyone!!

I love the Bachelor. I thought he would be suited best with Jillian. Out of Melissa and Molly, if I had to pick, I would pick Melissa. I really wish Deanna would have picked him last year.

My Mom was telling me that the house he took Melissa to? Wasn’t his house (duh, should have seen that one). It was a house boat ala “Sleepless in Seattle”.

I hope he picks neither. Jillian was perfect for him.

I will have to watch the spoilers and see (I have already seen one spoiler and I think I know who he picks).

I had respect for the guy, but for the first two weeks he said (repeatedly), “It doesn’t matter who I pick for Ty, he’ll like anyone”, then all of a sudden, he had an epiphany and he has been “I need to pick someone who can also be a parent to Ty” (no duh). As a parent, if I was suddenly a single parent, that would be the first thing I would think of beyond if I shared the same values/chemistry, etc. It would be super important.

I’ve never been a fan of reality t.v., even back to the 90′s when “The Real World” was so popular. Like Alannah, I don’t like the mean-spiritedness of some of the shows, and plus I believe they are all so contrived. I don’t like how the shows throw in situations just to ramp up the drama, then edit them to make them look a certain way.

But many people do enjoy them, so more power to you *g*

I don’t usually like shows like “The Bachelor”, but I get sucked in everytime.

I don’t really consider “The Amazing Race” or “Dancing with the Stars” Reality shows, but I guess they are. I like to balance them with heavy dramas…LOL.

I love The Bachelor! Every year I say I won’t get sucked in and every year I’m right there for every episode. lol! I was so disappointed when DeAnna didn’t pick Jason but thrilled when I heard Jason would be this year’s bachelor. I’ve been pulling for Melissa from the very first episode. I think they have terrific chemistry and she just seems like such a nice person…and great with kids. I wanted him to send Molly home last week. Tonight is one of my favorite episodes – the “tell all” when all the women come back and dish about the season.

The reality shows I do watch are live games of Basketball and Football. To me, that’s reality TV, especially when you can hear the, “oh and one,” that players like Mike Redd and Richard Jefferson say when they’ve been fouled or hear the thud the bodies make when they hit the floor.

Another type of show that I consider to be a reality show is Ace of Cakes. I like how they show the problems and the successes and it’s only a half-hour to see four+ cakes completed. The people are pretty cool too!

Here I thought I was going to be the only non-reality TV watcher, but it’s nice to know I’m not!

I watched a marathon of Next Top Model one weekend. Got totally sucked in and then started plotting a murder mystery around the show. Go figure. :rotfl1:

I did watch parts of Dancing with the Stars because Warren Sapp (OMG too funny!) was amazing, but I didn’t DVR the episodes or anything.

    Keep us posted, Janelle!

Katie — I’ll definitely be adding “Dancing with the Stars” to my list of “must watch” shows. However, I’m not overly thrilled with the line-up of celebrities, but I’m willing to give it a chance.

Carrie — I LOVE Ace of Cakes! The whole cast is so quirky and they all make me laugh. Another food show I’m really getting into is CHOPPED.

Silver — At least something productive happened as a result of you watching a reality TV show! :rotfl1:

OK, Janelle – you need to do a follow-up to this after all the shows have aired. Since I don’t watch it, I was a little confused by the timing of things (based on the link you attached). But after it’s all said and done, I want to know what everyone thinks!

Yes, I do watch the Bachelor & I am so glad to find out that others do also! None of my friends watch, they seem to think TV has no value!! :?
Anyway, I don’t watch much reality TV because I can’t quite figure out the appeal. I do watch Dancing with the Stars, love that show, and The Bachelor. The clips I’ve seen from tonights show sounds like the women are being very nasty! My take is if you are going to be on that type of program you have to be prepared to know you might not be the last one standing. I can’t imagine how hard it must be to be the one choosing. You have to listen to your heart and lets face it we don’t see everything or know how they are really connecting or not connecting!! I was sorry to see Jillian go, she seemed like a good candidate for long term but maybe there just wasn’t the right chemistry there. I can’t wait to see when Deanna appears, they have been teasing us with that from the beginning. I’m not checking out that link because I don’t want to know anything!! 8O Janelle, be sure to do a follow up after the last show!! It will be interesting to see what happens & see the comments.

Janelle..I know (DWTS)…it’s such a strange cast this time. I guess I am not ‘hip’ enough. I think it’s going to be a runaway again with Shawn Johnson…her only drawback is that she’ll have to go to school and she might have limited hours because she is a minor. As for the rest of the cast, I have no clue who most of them are!

I love ANTM, too. I love the murder mystery idea….LOL.

    Janelle,

I got an update “spoiler” the other day and I am shocked it made sense because I kept wondering what Chris was talking about having 2 after the Rose specials. I guess we have to wait and see tonight and next week. If he does what the spoiler says why didn’t he just do that from the beginning.

I only watch some reality TV. Here in NZ, we get some but not all of the shows you ladies get in the US.
I can say that Biggest Loser appeals although I’ve lost track of where we are in relation to the seasons in the US. The problem that I have with many reality shows is that after several seasons, the appeal has disappeared, ie I don’t understand why Survivor is still going.

It’s all about the ratings Janelle! I’m sure that the ratings are slipping, so I bet the producer’s convinced him to go along with this so that there could be this “big” and “memorable” ending. This is exactly why I don’t watch those shows anymore. After the first two, it wasn’t about trying to put two people together, it was about how much controversy could be created.

If it was really about putting two people together, they would pick 25 women from all over that were tight matches to his personality so it would be very hard for him to make a decision, but it wouldn’t make for good TV. You never know, it could also be that he was told who to boot off every week! You never know….. and yes, I do realize that I am a huge skeptic!

And yeah, I’ve caught the spoiler info too…pretty interesting huh? I can’t wait til next Monday’s finale. And the AFTR Parts 1 and 2 to see what really goes down. Counting down the days!
