Congratulations to Friday’s winner:
#60 Maya
And Saturday’s winner:
#34 Lara Lee
And the winner from guest blogger Kathy Carmichael a week ago (I don’t think it was announced):
#21 Sharron Paterson
Lots of winners! Please send your snail mail addy to me at julie at julieleto dot com and I’ll get the prize out to you. Maya, I also need to know what backlist title you’d prefer. Send me a couple of choices in case it’s one I don’t have available.
ALSO–Lori S. (#55) won my contest last month, but I can’t find her email anywhere and I’m wondering now if she contacted me with her name/address. Lori, if you are out there, please contact me. Thanks!
And now, in lieu of the Sunday funny, I’m posting a video that explains the ONLY REASON I’ll be watching the Oscars tonight, since I saw NONE of the nominated films.

By all reports, Julie Leto was a sweet child once, somewhat shy, preferring to play quietly in her room making up stories. However, being raised with three brothers in a loud, primarily Italian household did have its influences and Julie discovered her inner tough girl. That’s probably why most of her heroines kick serious butt. Writing sassy heroines has worked out, as she’s sold over forty books to four publishers featuring strong, confident women. Julie lives in Florida with her daughter, a spoiled dachshund, a haughty lynx-point Siamese and a wide range of relatives all within driving distance.

Oh, Hugh, wonderful, glorious Hugh.
I didn’t see any of the movies nominated either. Despite Hugh Jackman I won’tt be watching the Oscars.
Congrats to all the winners!

For some reason I didn’t get the video link, but he is one of3 reasons i will be watching- the other two are because i want Heath to win and because there is a local person up for the makeup Oscar- they did Heath’s makeup for the Joker. Oh hell and because something always happens.
Congrats to the winners too!

I love Hugh Jackman and will watch at least some of the awards tonight. I really hope that Heath Ledger wins tonight. I loved him in The Dark Knight.
Congrats to all the winners!

Look at that man’s ARMS! I know he was speaking, but I have no idea what he said….

Woo-hoo to all the winners!!!
At the risk of being stoned in the jungle by all the Hugh Jackman fans, that video is first time I can ever remember seeing him in anything.
He’s just never landed on my radar screen. I can see why he’s so wildly popular!
I really hope Heath Ledger wins. I didn’t see the Dark Knight, but every person I know who did has talked about how powerful his character was.
Hope it’s a great Sunday for everyone!

Hey, I’m with Gillian. I just couldn’t take my eyes off Hugh’s arms. OMG!
Congrats to all the winners!

Hugh Jackman’s arms… *swoon* Alannah – Kate and Leopold, Van Helsing, The Fountain (move was okay, Jackman was yummy), and I’ve yet to see Australia but it’s on the radar. That man is some serious
!!!!
Oh…and congrats to the winners!

In a lot of the shots, they’ve put his face in shadow and the lighting is just on his arms. Definitely drool worthy.
Alannah, you haven’t seen X-men? Awesome movies, all three. I love them! I even loved him in Van Helsing, even though the movie itself was terrible. I didn’t care. I just wanted me some Hugh.
Although he is Leslie’s crush, she made the mistake of taking me with her to see Boy from Oz on Broadway, where I fell completely and totally in love. So it’s her fault, really. The man has such range…he can play tough and rugged or sensitive and creative. I never did get to see Australia, but I will on dvd.
I watch the Oscars for the fashion, too. I love looking at all the gowns and will likely buy US magazine and People next week, too, which I never do except at Oscar time. I love clothes! (I hate shopping, but I love looking!)

Congrats to all the winners!
As mentioned many times already, Hugh is very fine  and those arms… (I’m at a loss for words)
I say that I’m going to have the Oscars on in the background while I’m working on a paper – but most likely that paper will not get done. (So I guess I should get started on it now instead of setting myself of up for failure later)
Have a great Sunday everyone, back to work, school, reality, etc… tomorrow! Enjoy.

Yummy, yummy, is that man yummy!
Whew, plus he seems to be a really nice person. Can’t beat a combination like that!! I haven’t seen Australia either but I would love to see it on the big screen.
I love watching the Oscars, the whole hoopla, Red Carpet, the whole award show, all of it! I love movies always have. It doesn’t matter if the show itself is boring I just love to watch it!! :giggler My dinner is planned around it, my day is planned so I can watch! Call me crazy! :yikes:
Julie, thanks for sharing that video! I think I may have to watch it again!!

Mm… Hugh! Although I haven’t seen any of the movies either and am not sure I’ll bother watching tonight. Congrats to Maya, Lara Lee, Sharron, and Lori! Thanks, Julie!

Nope, I am one of those who stopped watching those awards shows a long time ago. Too much hoopla and honestly, I haven’t been impressed by much of what has come out of Hollywood lately.
I might end up watching some of the movies on DVD at some point in time, but many Oscar winners, especially over the past few years, have not been stimulating or overly original.
While I enjoyed the X-Men series, I think I liked the storyline from the cartoon a bit more…..
Seriously, how many times do they need to remake Batman movies? For me, the best Joker was Cesar Romero, with Jack Nicholson taking second. I even liked how the Joker was portrayed in the animated Batman series.
Now, Star Trek looks to be the next victim. Not liking that prospect. No one, and I mean no one but William Shatner will ever be James T. Kirk and as much as I like the movies John Cho has been in, he’s no Sulu! Haven’t they learned anything from the Star Wars Episodes I, II and III fiascoes? Apparently not. The idea is to go forward in the storyline, not backward!
Sorry, I’m ranting. Oscars always seem to do that to me…. I’ll stop now.
This is why I read so much or watch TV series. I’ve come across so many duds that it’s awfully hard not to be skeptic when it comes to films.
