And now for the Sunday Funny:
A Christmas Story for people having a bad day:

When four of Santa’s elves got sick, the trainee elves did not produce toys as fast as the regular ones, and Santa began to feel the Pre-Christmas pressure.

Then Mrs Claus told Santa her Mother was coming to visit, which stressed Santa even more.

When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two others had jumped the fence and were out, Heaven knows where.

Then when he began to load the sleigh, one of the floorboards cracked, the toy bag fell to the ground and all the toys were scattered.

Frustrated, Santa went in the house for a cup of apple cider and a shot of rum. When he went to the cupboard, he discovered the elves had drank all the cider and hidden the Rum. In his frustration, he accidentally dropped the cider jug, and it broke into hundreds of little glass pieces all over the kitchen floor. He went to get the broom and found the mice had eaten all the straw off the end of the broom.

Just then the doorbell rang, and irritated Santa marched to the door, yanked it open, and there stood a little angel with a great big Christmas tree.

The angel said very cheerfully, ‘Merry Christmas, Santa. Isn’t this a lovely day? I have a beautiful tree for you. Where would you like me to stick it?’

And so began the tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas tree.

HAPPY SUNDAY!

CarlyCarly Phillips would like to take 100% credit for all her stories but the truth is, Carly’s strength is writing family, emotion, funky elderly people and animals. She couldn’t plot her way out of a paper bag, which is why she smartly found her plotmonkey pals early on in her writing career. Thanks to their support, Carly is now a NYT Bestselling author of 23 plus novels. Because writing doesn’t keep her busy enough, Carly is also a wife, a mother of one preteen and one teenage daughter, the primary care giver of her soft coated Wheaten terrier and an expert carpool mom.

thank you so much.. i cant tell you how bright this has made my day.. truly i had tears well up when i read my name..
my dad is continuing to improve but we have so many hills to climb with his movement and speech. But we seem to be past most of the complications, pneumonia and fevers seem to be under control.. i think if we could get his swallowing stronger and get rid of the feeding tube his mood would greatly improve.. hes been so depressed.. i havent heard from hubby since christmas morning .. so im hoping that they get internet established soon, cause i miss hearing from him..i guess they can get it if they pay 35 bucks a month each.. so im hoping he does that so we have some form of communication other than snail mail.. dont get me started on the govt, sending my hubby off to that place and not even being able to provide free internet..grrrr….
its been one of those times where if it can go wrong it will and if it will break it will.. october brought me a new washer and dryer right after he left.. last month was my refrigerator, and i finally got a new microwave been needing that for quite a while.. and the last two days my dishwasher has been leaving a flood on my kitchen floor…grrr…
but im sure you all dont want to hear my whine list..lol..
i just wanted to say thank you thank you thank you… im so excited to be picking out some yummy plotmonkey books… :yourock

Jolene- you just made spending a week at Disney with 3 adults in scooters (hubby, mom and 1 of his daughters) and a herd of other family members sound like fun. Or not. :rotfl1:

We are currently sitting in club Acela waiting for our last train home. I need my bed and my puppies.

The picture we took of the 3 of them single file on their scooters was a hoot. All I could think of was Benny Hill. :rotfl1: Dang near peed my pants laughing so hard at them.

Hey Jolene, I hope that they do get commo set up soon so that you can talk to your hubby…I remember going on peace missions and how hard it was to get anything set up there, but the country was in better financial times then. Snail mail can be a drag, especially if you don’t get letters until it is almost time to leave sometimes…every now and then take a breath, count to 10 and close your eyes for a minute…pretend you are somewhere else for a while and then it might be easier to handle things when you open them again. Have a wonderful day Jolene…

    Peace and love,
    Paula R.

I found a copy of Secret Fantasy on Dec. 26 at my local bookstore. Loved it! But wonder whether Merrilee’s story was ever told… or will it be told in the future?

Am just about finished with Lucky Charm, which I bought at the same time. (Had company on Saturday, so couldn’t begin reading them until last night.)

Swear I’ll finish before heading to bed… back to work tomorrow after a week’s vacation.

    Happy New Year, everyone.
