You Got to Move It, Move It …
Carly Icon

… not just for kids! I am so excited that MADAGASCAR II is out November 7th.

Yes, I am like a child and I really want to see this movie! The good news is, my girls will go with me. My brother loves the Lemur King. I have a soft spot for the penguins:

Anyone else dying to see Madagascar? Who’s your favorite character?

Carly

CarlyCarly Phillips would like to take 100% credit for all her stories but the truth is, Carly’s strength is writing family, emotion, funky elderly people and animals. She couldn’t plot her way out of a paper bag, which is why she smartly found her plotmonkey pals early on in her writing career. Thanks to their support, Carly is now a NYT Bestselling author of 23 plus novels. Because writing doesn’t keep her busy enough, Carly is also a wife, a mother of one preteen and one teenage daughter, the primary care giver of her soft coated Wheaten terrier and an expert carpool mom.

I haven’t seen the first one yet either. I’ll have to try and see it before the second one comes out. The previews look really funny.

You’re hardly going to believe this because you know what a huge animated film person I am…but I hated Madagascar! I was so bored. I didn’t find it the least bit funny. I believe there was another “lost in the city/jungle” animated film around the time of the first release and I didn’t like that one, either.

But my daughter is excited about the second one, so I’m sure I’ll go. Maybe I’ll like this one better.

Omg I loved the first movie! Must see the second. Definitely.

My favorite? The penguins. They’re insane, you know. :giggle:

I haven’t seen the first one (my boys have, though and they are SOO excited to go see number two!).

This weekend is HSM 3, which for some odd reason, my boys are excited to see (don’t ask, I don’t).

I loved the first one. And my hubby absolutely despises that song at the end. I have so much fun teasing him with it. He says once he hears it he gets it stuck in his head and he hates it. It’s to the point now where all I have to do is just start doing the little dance that I’ve made up to it and he growls and stomps off! :rotfl1:

I have to admit I probably won’t go to the movie theater, I’ll just wait for it to hit one of the movie channels and then I’ll watch it over and over and over.

Hope everyone that’s going to see it has a great time!

I’ve never seen all of Madagascar only a scene here and there. What I saw was cute but I wouldn’t pay to see it at the movie theater.

Julie, you’re too funny! You crack me up! As much as you love animated movies I would have thought you of all people would love Madagascar.

Oh, according to the side bar over there you’re almost finished with your Fairytale Novella!! :cheer:

I was wondering if you guys would consider doing a blog about the dynamics of writing a novella vs a full length novel….?

    Have a great day all,

    Cher

I loved the first one and so did my b/f and stepkiddies. We can’t WAIT for the second one! I’m partial to the penguins and the hippo myself. :)

I know..I fully expected to love it!

And no, I’m not almost done…I’m COMPLETELY DONE! I finished on Sunday…you can see I went 2445 over my projected word count, but I’ll cut those later.

I’m taking the next four days off completely…so if you guys don’t hear from me, that’s why!

I only saw Madagascar after my parents bought it to have for my nieces and nephews, especially the two my mom watches while my sister is at work. I loved it from the first time I saw it. My favorite character has to be the hypochondriac giraffe, Melman. David Schwimmer’s delivery made me laugh so hard.

I didn’t know there was a second one coming out, but I definitely want to see it. I’ll probably take my youngest niece to see it since she’s my goddaughter as well.

Michele…I must admit :hide: I kind of like HSM, too, although, it was my eight year old who got into it first (he watches the preview online). I guess there are worse things for them to like. We have to figure out when to watch #2 (we’ve only seen #1).

Disney got SO smart putting it in the theaters. Smart, smart, smart.

:hide: Another HSM fan here too. I’m even helping out a friend with her daughter’s birthday party tomorrow night. We are taking 11 8-10 yr olds to see HSM 3. It should be fun, and my nieces live too far away for me to go with them to see it.

Penguins are cute. I like the lion (can’t remember his name). Hope it’s as funny as the first one.

I haven’t seen the first one so no excitement for the second although the commercials are cute! It is fun watching a kids movie from time to time. I loved Cars. Maybe I will add this to my Netflix list! I have no interest in HSM 1, 2 or 3!! My ten year old granddaughter is a fan! Disney has made some really good films over the years. I wonder what Walt would think of his empire now?

Julie, congratulations on finishing your Fairytale novella. I’m looking forward to reading it. Enjoy your four days off. Do something fun & relaxing. :flower4you:

    Hey everybody,

I’ve just been lurking for quite a while now but wanted to respond today. My 5 year old daughter loves this movie. It’s a daddy, daughter thing. They love to sing the move it, move it song. I really want to go see the movie but think it will be a nice daddy-daughter date. Can’t really decide though.

I Love animated movies but I never saw Madagascar. I don’t know why I guess it is because no one else in the family wanted to see it.
I waill have to rent it one day soon.

I am looking forward to the new James Bond Movie Quantum of Solace.
