I’m on the last lap of the first draft of this book, driving fast toward the finish line. But I didn’t want another week to go by, so I’m posting a few pictures from the anniversary party. Needless to say, my parent’s 50th was a good time. But then, we Letos know how to throw a party.
Observe:
The cake (all the gold parts are edible…dusted in 24kt gold and delicious!)

The food (enjoyed by my nephew) Isn’t he adorable?

The portrait (unframed, but on display)
The reception (click for larger picture…this restaurant is on Tampa Bay)
The family (Aren’t we a great looking bunch?)

I don’t like to name the kids on the Internet, but the adults are my brother, Jason and his wife, Jeannette on the left, my sister in law, Joy, my brother Chris, me and my husband on the right. My hand is on the shoulder of my brother, Timothy, and my parents, of course, are in the center of it all!
It was a great time!

By all reports, Julie Leto was a sweet child once, somewhat shy, preferring to play quietly in her room making up stories. However, being raised with three brothers in a loud, primarily Italian household did have its influences and Julie discovered her inner tough girl. That’s probably why most of her heroines kick serious butt. Writing sassy heroines has worked out, as she’s sold over forty books to four publishers featuring strong, confident women. Julie lives in Florida with her daughter, a spoiled dachshund, a haughty lynx-point Siamese and a wide range of relatives all within driving distance.

We had just under 200 people at the reception…probably somewhere around 175, I think. BIG party. (Of course, probably 100 of those people are actually blood relatives.)
They also renewed their vows at church. All the girls (my daughter and nieces) took up the offertory (we’re Catholic) and all the nephews were altar servers. We presented them with a blessing from the Pope. It was very cool.
The cake was delicious, as well as gorgeous…and yes, it’s buttercream. Amazing. Even my brothers thought it was “boxes” as a decoration and not a real edible cake, LOL!
The weather was absolutely beautiful (and we were watching!) and the bay view was an added bonus. We’re all having fun now exchanging pictures by email. We still have cake in the fridge…the party goes on! :giggle:
