Leslie’s Jungle Madness Friday
Leslie Icon

Happy Autumn!

Okay, I know it’s not Autumn yet–not officially anyway–but I’m feeling Fallish.

Since moving up here to Maryland, I have remembered that Autumn is absolutely my favorite season. I am so excited that the leaves will soon be changing. The air is already starting to carry a bit of a chill in the evenings, and I’m looking forward to jeans and sweaters, crisp nights, bonfires, hayrides, apple and pumpkin picking…all the wonderful things the season has to offer.

So I thought in the spirit of the season one of our visitors might like this pretty Autumn Leaves wreath, which is about 11″ in diameter

.

I’ll also send the winner an autographed book from my backlist, your choice (depending upon availability.)

Just comment and you’re entered!

And here’s a little something to get us in the mood…

Leslie

LeslieLeslie Kelly used to say she wanted to be a doctor when she grew up, but then she discovered Nancy Drew books. Being a flashlight-under-the-covers-nose-in-book reader throughout her childhood, she couldn’t think of anything else she’d rather do as an adult than continue to lose herself in fictional stories. Her real life marriage of 20 years to the man of her dreams is a constant reinforcement that happily-ever-afters really can happen…and that they’re worth writing about. Living in Maryland, Leslie spends her non-writing time laughing a lot with the above-mentioned romance hero and their three daughters. Though an author of more than thirty sexy, contemporary comedies, she has recently branched out to write dark romantic suspense under the pseudonym Leslie Parrish.

I love Autumn. I’m all about the crisp clean air. My favorite is the colors the leaves turn, and when they start to fall from the trees, and the way they float majestically around, like a little dance before they hit the ground. I’m looking forward to it. :coffee:

    Good morning Leslie,

Great picture! I love Autumn too. We are in NE Georgia & like nothing better than to take a day trip up to the Mountains to see the leaves. We have a ton of festivals, parades, & such this time of year here so it is a lot of fun. Beautiful wreath and a book too, awesome!

    Thank you,

I love autumn! The leaves here are already changing and I have to cover the garden at night now in case of frost. I still have tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers that I don’t want to freeze. My pie pumpkins are turning a nice bright orange! We went apple picking yesterday and it was a beautiful day the sky was blue and not a cloud to be seen. Today is cold and gray and rain is predicted, so I am glad I got the lawn mowed too.

Did I mention that I love autumn?

Tammy- cleaning the freezer out the other day I found a pack of frozen pumpkin and am going to make a pie today! Yeah!!

Aside from the beautiful color show, I am not a fan of fall….only because I don’t like the long, cold winter following close on its heels. But that’s why I moved to NC….long, hot summer, pretty autumn and short, mild winter. That I can take. You know, I might just talk myself into liking autumn. :giggle:

I am looking forward to fall…we are supposed to have weather in the 90s this weekend and early next week (really, Janelle, it is NOT usually like this, we are having our summer, now…it is because I had been saying it was the best summer ever with few days of 90s)….I am tired of wearing shorts and t-shirt…gimme fall!!!

Everyone in Ike’s path, please stay ’safe and warm’ as my niece used to say. We are all worried about you!!!

Can’t wait to go pick those apples and make some apple pie! Here in CA we get less of the beautiful changes during fall, but we do get some oranges and reds. Though I’m from the coast, where the seasons stay the same almost all year, and we’ve recently moved to NorCal…so maybe we’ll be pleasantly surprised!

When I was little we lived in PA and used to go out in the country to where they made apple butter in these big black cauldrons with a stirring yoke on top. You could smell the spices from a long way away. We would also pick pumpkins from a local farmer’s field with way too many pumpkins to choose from. Four kids carving pumpkins must have been a hoot for my mom.

Now that I’m in South Florida, I don’t see the Fall season down here. I do miss Fall but not Winter!

I love the changing of the leaves and the leaves falling. In our town some people start raking the minute a leaf falls and I always say to them that leaves are meant to be on the ground for an amount of time b/c it’s fall. I don’t rake them up until later after I’ve enjoyed the crunch of them under my shoes.

What a beautiful photo and a great gift. I love the Fall season with all the beautiful colors of the leaves…unfortunately, then those leaves all fall down and I am sure they all land in my yard so it takes forever to rake them all up. Of course, after raking them into piles all the kids love to play in them and so we, naturally, have to rake them up more than once…but a fun time is had by all.

What a beautiful picture! Fall makes me think of chilly nights drinking apple cider and eating pumpkin pie!

Leslie, I’m definitely with you in being ready for Autumn. Winter is my favorite season so I will enjoy Autumn knowing that it brings Winter one step closer. :)

What a nice wreath. The colors are beautiful. Great deal on a book, too.
Hope all that are on the Texas gulf coast are safe throughout hurricane Ike this week-end.
