Writing Themed Giveaway (Stephen King, On Writing)
Janelle Icon

Since we don’t have a writing related blog today, I’m giving away a writing related book by Stephen King titled On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft. This is from my personal library and is an enlightening book on writing and Stephen King’s life as a writer.

If you would like a chance to win this writing reference book, all you need to do is post a note on today’s blog, then check back tomorrow (Sunday) to see if you’re name was drawn as the winner!

Note from Julie: This is hands-down the best writing book I’ve ever read. The first half is about Stephen King’s life, but the second half is some of the best nuts-and-bolts advice I’ve ever read/heard. (I have this as a CD, as well as hard copy.)

Thanks, Janelle, for your generosity!

Janelle

JanelleJanelle Denison finds it hard to believe that it’s been nearly 25 years since she first started writing romance novels. At first, it was a way to pass idle time while her husband worked swing shift, but before long it became an obsession to get published. Luckily, she kept at it (it took her over 5 years to get that first book published!) and is now a Waldenbooks, Barnes & Noble, and USA Today Bestselling author! Now, after selling over 45 plus novels, she finds that her Plotmonkey pals help to keep her stories fresh and unique, and she can’t imagine writing a story without their input. Janelle lives in Oregon with her husband, Don, along with two teenage daughters that keep life interesting.

Oh wow!!!!! What a great give-away! And Julie’s right – very generous!

I borrowed it from the library and then bought the audio book for my iPod.
I don’t watch his movies (or read his books) because they scare the bejeebies out of me and so I was totally caught off guard by his wicked sense of humor.

Hope it’s a great weekend for everyone. Right now the rain is hitting my windows sideways from the wind (from Hanna) but in another couple of hours the sun is supposed to be shining. At least for me…sorry for those of you up the east coast who are going to have the rain all day!

    Hi Janelle,

This is a great give away. My hubby who is a beautiful writer had just stated that he really needed to sit down & do some writing. I will look for this at the book store for him.

    Thank you,
    Susan B.

    But a howdy to all.

    How’s Baily doing? :snoopy:

I am reading Christina Skye’s To Catch a Thief,

Then Rocki’s Now you Die and then,

Servant the Acceptance by Lori Foster

Then I’ll hit my tgr pile until Carly’s release later this month.

This book comes so highly recommended. Although I said I’d never read another Stephen King book again–because I don’t care for being scared out of my wits–I figure how scary could a writing craft book be? 8O

I would love to read this, but I am betting you that I see it for a day before my husband, the Stephen King nut, swipes it and puts it in his library.

I was a huge Stephen King fan years ago, and just love his approach to writing. I think anyone could get something out of it.
